I'm just about to drink my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. It's just me up at the moment, although I think I hear dd2 moving about, so lovely and peaceful.

I'll put the washer on shortly, and wash up the few pots there are. We had a cleaning morning in the week so the house is still alright. Hoover needs a swish round but that's a quick job with the new one, and there are a few little jobs to be done - bring old hoover down, put up utensil hooks & look for a taller spice rack, and work out why dd2's middle drawer doesn't open already. Probably something I did when building the bedside cabinet 🤷‍♀️

We're off to town for a few things today - won't be out long or buying much though. I have peg people I really need to finish for Tuesday & that's looking less and less likely 🙈 it'll be fine if they're a day later than I'd planned though.

Tea will be something easy from the freezer. Followed by a shower and early night for me after a bit of some sort of crafting, or my book. I might look up some bracelet tutorials for some of our friendship bracelets for the Eras tour, or I might brush out some more of my tangled jacket I want to add beaded tassels to 🤔 we'll see.

Dd2 will no doubt get up to watch someone stream Adele from Vegas, and dd1 wanted to finish the last of her homework before going to see The 1975, tomorrow night, so she'll probably do that.

What about all of you? 🙂

No affiliation btw - I have the five shelf one.

mamaduckbone · 17/02/2024 09:39

Good morning @lucysmam and all. I'm still in bed - developed a stinking cold just in time for half term so I've had a good lie in to try and feel a bit more human.
Dh has been out already to buy bread and pastries so I'll venture down for coffee and breakfast in a minute. I'd like to get the house in order today so it looks nice for the week, then we'll watch ds1 play rugby this afternoon.
Dh has decided to cook Szechuan duck tonight so I'm quite excited about that!

MissMarplesNiece · 17/02/2024 09:39

@RabbitsRock You have my sympathy about the surgery after pain.

I'm recovering at home from a bowel resection last week and am sprawled across the sofa, trying to find the least painful position to lie/sit, while dosed to the eyeballs with painkillers.

When I've drunk my tea and seen DH out the door with a list of errands, I'm going to sort out my embroidery threads for a counted cross stitch I'm working on.

Giggorata · 17/02/2024 09:39

Good morning, lucysmam and all.

DH has gone shopping and I am just about to start an online creative writing course. Quite excited!
Fingers crossed the technology works…

Later, I am doing roast lamb and so forth.
And an exciting evening, folding laundry and putting it away.

K0OLA1D · 17/02/2024 09:41

I'm having a brew in bed dp kindly made as we had a drink last night and my head is splitting in two! I think I'm out of practice.

DS 10 is cleaning his room reading for his friend, who is coming for a sleepover and DS 12 is going to the football with my dad.

DP is out today building his little business portfolio! So hoping it doesn't rain on him

lifebeginsaftercoffee · 17/02/2024 09:42

I'm a pet-sitter and was up early to do a cat-feeding job. Then it was back home for a coffee and a couple of hot cross buns in front of the TV.

I've had a really busy week (lots of early starts and late finishes) so I'm planning to do as little as possible in between two dog walks and another two cat visits later on today.

DH has walked the dog and has gone to work but he'll be back by the time I go out later.

Loafbeginsat60 · 17/02/2024 09:44

I'm still in bed but planning to get up and change all the beds and clean the house

We have friends coming for dinner tonight but I'm just doing charcuterie boards and making a lemon cheesecake so no stress there.

The sheep are being scanned this afternoon and dosed so no doubt I will be donning wellies and waterproofs and heading out for that.

I really should get up as I have shopping coming soon....

CharlotteBog · 17/02/2024 09:47

Hair cut - good
Looking at 2 care homes for relative with Alzheimer's who is now unsafe at home - sad
Make a roast - good
Grocery shopping - necessary
Plan trip to Uk athletics champs tomorrow (my niece is racing) - yippee!

Ilovelurchers · 17/02/2024 09:50

I am on holiday in a small UK city with my daughter! She is still asleep but need to wake her up soon or she will miss breakfast. Then we have a day of museums and art galleries planned. We have got stuff to make sandwiches for lunch (and crisps etc) and will probably find somewhere nice but cheapish near the hotel to eat tonight...Also thinking about a possible cinema trip but not sure. God I love the hedonism of holidays!

Also love that I don't drink any more so don't have a hangover - typically used to wake up in hotels with a light headache at least......

HelloDarlingWhatAreYouDoingHere · 17/02/2024 09:51

As it's not raining until later in the afternoon we'll get out with the dog.

Lazy morning so far. Just sorting through my grocery delivery and doing a little laundry in my pjs.

Going to finish my coffee and then get myself into the shower.

Beezknees · 17/02/2024 09:52

Just out doing some shopping. DS16 at home probably still sleeping. Have a family birthday party this afternoon then home to relax and DS going to a friend's house for the night.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 17/02/2024 09:56

Good morning!

Well what a difference for me, from this time last week. I couldn't get out of bed as the sodding covid had got me.

I've been to Sainsbury's already and it was so lovely being out and about at 7.30am. Very Spring like with the birds singing, and rabbits dotted about the place. I also noticed that my crocus area already in full bloom.

I've had a cup of tea already and I think I'm going to make a slow cooker curry. I've got a replacement set of wheeled drawers coming from Amazon today (they let me keep the slightly damaged original!) so I'm going to have fun sorting all my craft items out and tidying it all away neatly.

Have a happy Saturday, all.

Mysterian · 17/02/2024 09:56

Resting this morning. I'm just getting over a sore back that's lasted all week. Nearly gone. Not much I need to do. Pottering, washing etc. Going to tourist attraction tomorrow though.

Cloud44 · 17/02/2024 09:59

Morning everyone, I love these posts of a weekend! Just find it really interesting to hear what others are up to at the weekend!

lucysmam · 17/02/2024 10:00

@OldTinHat you've just saved me a scroll! The 5 shelf one will be spot on rather than the two mis-matched, and too small, ones I have at the moment! Thanks for the link!

@piscofrisco you're right
Just put a wash on and come back to bed. Luckily I have everything and think I know where it all is just need to throw it in a suitcase. Got the kids to do too though so it's will have to be a group effort.

Sunnnybunny72 · 17/02/2024 10:06

Making soup and decorating . Need to choose some new curtains too. Will hopefully get a walk in this afternoon. It's so mild.
Watching football later.

TheSameClip · 17/02/2024 10:08

I’m still in bed with tea and toast contemplating what to do today. No plans and feeling knackered.

I might go to a yoga class later. Do a bit of housework. Maybe watch a film.

To be honest, I just feel like lying low today.

RabbitsRock · 17/02/2024 10:10

P .S So proud of myself - just stepped on the scales & I have lost half a stone! I quit drinking a couple of weeks ago & am now definitely heading in the right direction.

bingoringo4 · 17/02/2024 10:15

Jet washing my patio and tidying up the garden. Got to go out and get dog food today. Not sure what else to do today.

PurpleSky09 · 17/02/2024 10:17

Morning all.

We've been up a while doing some general tidying up. Heading into town shortly as we fancy a trip to the library and then we'll stop for lunch somewhere, and I need to get a few random bits from B&M so we'll go there before coming home.

Nothing much planned for later. Will be having slowcooker curry for tea, will put feet up in front of the TV with a glass of wine and hopefully have a bit of an early night.

Love a quiet Saturday!

TeabySea · 17/02/2024 10:19

Nothing exciting planned.
DH brought me a cup of tea in bed. DC not up yet.
I've got some washing to do, and some plants to put in.
Might see if we can all go for a walk a bit later.

First day of the school holidays so may plan out a couple of activities.

wevegotthepower · 17/02/2024 10:21

At the gym then thinking of the cinema this afternoon but nothing much grabbing my attention. Maybe the German film but think that'll be hard going.

Trying to avoid retail therapy as funds low until payday.

mondaytosunday · 17/02/2024 10:22

Not a lot! Been away last few days visiting my son who had a minor op so needed some TLC. Saw several friends after he went back to work so feel socialised out! Have a visitor coming tomorrow but not til late so not going to do much to prepare today other than change the guestroom bedding.
Should do a bit of work as didn't do any while away but I've just crawled back in to bed and may stay here til the Tesco man comes at 1! My DD is away so no pressure to cook anything much for dinner so might just be something I can just shove in the oven. Alcohol free for Lent though - first weekend always the hardest!

OldBeyondMyYears · 17/02/2024 10:24

Having my hair done this afternoon (cut and fresh highlights) then cleaning my bathrooms and upstairs (rock and roll 🤣)

Still...at least my hair will look nice as I pop on my rubber gloves 👍💪
