What's your favourite tea bags? I always have Tetley but fancy trying something new. Do you notice a different taste with different tea bags?

Whatever is on special or supermarket own brand! My so called tea aficionado mother commented or how nice the tea was to her other day when she visited, was it loose leaf special tea (she knows I've had it in the past) , no it was Lidl own red label! She has since bought a box and swears it tastes different at her house Hmm

I buy M and S gold tea bags. But I'm not really area drinker. Strangely I don't like Yorkshire tea. Growing up we had PG.

Ariela · 21/02/2024 11:20

We went off the shrinkfllated boxes and not so nice new flavour PG Tips, and have gone to Aldi Gold as a substitute. M&S Gold is a good second but more expensive, and Waitrose own brand our third fave.
Yorkshire Gold is good but out of budget.

Yorkshire always

mitogoshi · 21/02/2024 11:22

I mostly drink redbush anyway as I have issues with caffeine

totk · 21/02/2024 11:36

Interesting to read that other people no longer enjoy PG Tips. They used to be my fave but the last couple of boxes were awful. I'm no use to you, though, OP as I switched to Tetley!

Twinnings English breakfast.
We are finding it harder to get delivered at a reasonable price to Mainland Europe now post brexit, so have recently tried Ahmed (on Amazon) and it’s been really good

i liked clipper decaffeinated when I was pregnant

Norugratsatall · 21/02/2024 12:03

Twinings English Breakfast or Teapigs.

PurpleMantaRay · 21/02/2024 12:04

We normally just get Tesco own brand everyday tea, but I got a tin of Cartright and Butler breakfast tea in a hamper at Christmas and it was on another level!

Unfortunately at £4.50 for 15 teabags I can't justify buying it, so if anyone knows of a similar tasting tea please let me know!

Jules912 · 21/02/2024 12:07

PG Tips but I'm not keen on the new bags, need to find an alternative. Any ideas, I'm also not keen on Yorkshire Tea?

Brew Tea Co.

all other tea had started leaving me with a dry mouth. A lady in Waitrose was buying several boxes of this & telling the cashier how amazing it is, so I dashed off to get a box, quickly grabbed it and went through the checkout.

got home, made a cuppa, declared it lovely & no dry mouth.💕😊

However, id only got a tiny few items & was surprised at the total, so checked my receipt. £9.50 for 40 tea bags.

I wouldn't have bothered trying it at that price (I've tried so many this past year, that I haven't enjoyed).

im rehoming my tea mountain & will buy these again!

Bestie likes twinings English breakfast tea, so I'll keep all of those & drink that when he's here. I don't want to introduce him to my Brew Co, because then he won't enjoy his TEBT as much & he won't buy TBC for himself.

Yorkshire Hard Water, Yorkshire standard, PG tips then Tetleys.

Horses7 · 21/02/2024 12:34

Yorkshire decaf

Gilead · 21/02/2024 12:48

Yorkshire, or Sainsbury’s red label.

gould · 21/02/2024 12:50

Yorkshire

almostthere75 · 21/02/2024 13:32

Are Y hard water for those of us in hard water areas?

Piggywaspushed · 21/02/2024 16:21

Just as a public service announcement for those who like old PG... Amazon still sells them (for now).

Tessisme · 21/02/2024 16:44

I like Irish/N Irish blends. I mostly drink loose tea, but if I'm having teabags I go for Punjana or, if I'm in Dunnes, I pick up a box of Barry's. Same with the loose tea in fact!

TheDuck2018 · 21/02/2024 16:48

Just discovered Lidl Deluxe English Breakfast Tea, absolutely gorgeous!

abricotine · 21/02/2024 18:27

M&S Gold. Yorkshire too strong. PG Tips while growing up but don’t like it now.

ThankGoditsChristmas · 21/02/2024 18:39

M&S Gold here too. I don't really like Tetley, pjs tips etc since having the gold ones!

Strokethefurrywall · 21/02/2024 18:42

I live overseas and the day we got Yorkshire Tea was a celebration. I just had my friends dad bring a box of Yorkshire decaf which I'm loving because now I can drink tea around the clock and still sleep!

rainbowsparkle28 · 21/02/2024 18:45

Tetley or M and S own brand everyday tea in red box. I usually am pretty fussy with the cheaper ones which usually are horrible but these are great imo and good price.

Juniperberries200 · 21/02/2024 18:45

Punjana. I heard the Sainsbury's red label were good so I gave them a try. Very impressed.

ladymalfoy45 · 21/02/2024 18:49

Fortnam and Mason Queen Anne Tea. A rare luxury but lovely. I like to think I'm Harriet Vane or Phryne Fisher as I sip from my very special bone china cup.
