Fortunately they had plenty left but they did leave it a bit late. More than I got though!

Why did they leave it late?

ThechicRoyal · 14/02/2024 19:45

I got flowers and some chocolate and a card early this morning before my partner went off to work.

Why did they leave it late?

Indeed. It's Valentine's Day all day 🤷🏻‍♀️

HelloMiss · 14/02/2024 19:46

It's not late.... fresh flowers on the day is fine

TammyJones · 14/02/2024 19:47

lol
It's the same on Mothering Sunday.
Loads of middle aged men wondering the flower section of Asda / Tesco's Grin

pictoosh · 14/02/2024 19:47

What's the point? It has become about requisite tokens, not romance.
Last minute flowers from Tesco are not romantic but they tick off the box?

Why did they leave it late?

Just finished work?

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 14/02/2024 19:47

I didn't get any flowers lol

SisterAgatha · 14/02/2024 19:48

We have an annual tradition of making amaretto sours and watching a terrible film. I like it tbh.

I wouldn’t consider it late for flowers really, it’s not like the days when you go to a florist and place an order.

SisterAgatha · 14/02/2024 19:49

Also he treated me to a currant bun, and I woke up to a slew of memes from my friends. I am having a very good Valentine’s Day really.

ApisGuard · 14/02/2024 19:49

usually you would think they would get them the day before, afterall the flowers are there at least 5 days before

thistimelastweek · 14/02/2024 19:50

It's nonsense.

Prescribed romance isn't romantic.

Usually?

Didn't realise there was a rule to follow!!

They are fine to get them today fgs!

Vitriolinsanity · 14/02/2024 19:52

The roses in Tesco were really nice quality at a very reasonable price. Assuming they removed the sticker, I'd have been happy.

Disclaimer I am a florist and checked them out this morning whilst I bought a croissant.

and ?

OhVienna24 · 14/02/2024 19:54

A few of them looked like they were rushing to get back to the car. Maybe they had forgotten!

OhVienna24 · 14/02/2024 19:54

What time do they get reduced?

OP posts:
Greenshrub · 14/02/2024 19:56

There’s nothing at all wrong with buying flowers on the day. How exactly would you go about hiding flowers bought the day before?

HadEnoughOfBears · 14/02/2024 19:56

It's nice they bought some though.
I hope their other halves appreciate it.

Borgonzola · 14/02/2024 19:59

Ahhhh I wish I'd got flowers!

ApisGuard · 14/02/2024 20:01

OhVienna24 · 14/02/2024 19:54

What time do they get reduced?

depends on the store but around6/7pm or next day depending on the date on the flowers

HelloMiss · 14/02/2024 20:03

Are you insinuating they waited until reduced? Anyway, if so, SO WHAT??
