Thanks all.

So many have found a new happier relationship after 40.

I just think what if my situation ends up worse than it is now!!

Lots of widows too ❤️ 💐

Married for eleven years, together for twenty. Two DC ten and eight.

MamaToABeautifulBoy · 14/02/2024 08:16

I was happily single at 40 after leaving an exhausting and toxic LTR a couple of years earlier. Living in central London and having a lot of fun.

Fast forward to 43, married, bought a house in the countryside, dogs and had a baby.
Life is unpredictable.

EmpressaurusOfTheScathingTinsel · 14/02/2024 08:20

I got divorced at 40 after a 10-year relationship. Best thing I ever did & I’m never again sharing my home with anyone who’s not a cat.

GreyCarpet · 14/02/2024 08:22

I'd been dating someone for a few months and it seemed to be going great.

He took me away for the weekend for my 40th birthday and was just different somehow.

He denied there was anything wrong, but a couple of weeks later, he admitted he was finding it hard to come to terms with the idea of dating an 'older woman'.

He assured me that he'd come round once he'd got his head around it but I dumped him - not going to be with someone who had to get their head around the idea of being with me!

He was utterly shocked, cried and asked me to take 2 weeks to reconsider.

I didn't reconsider.

He was 43.

Cotswoldmama · 14/02/2024 08:30

I'm 40 next month. I've been with my husband for just over 22 years married for nearly 13 years and we have 2 children both have just had their birthdays they're now 8 and 11. I think I read an article years ago and I did everything at the average age ie buy a house, get married, have a kid, have a second kid etc. I think we even own an average priced house abd earn and average income!

Trinity69 · 14/02/2024 08:32

At 40 I was in a relationship with my current DP but not living together. I had a 12 year old and a 9 year old.

DrDiva · 14/02/2024 08:33

on my 40th birthday I had met my now-DH 9 days previously. We were in a travel group, so eying each other up on my birthday but nothing more 😅
now have been married 12 years and have a DS.
