Was this person rude?

I made an offer for an item on vinted. I first saw it listen a month ago for 100, I made an offer for 70. They rejected and said they've just rejected an offer of 85. I said sure okay.

Recently i noticed they've put it down to 90. So I remade my offer of 70. They came back and told me they'd rather cut it up and use it to wash their car than sell it to me for that price. I was taken aback, not what I was expecting at all. Was this person rude?

Some people are a bit odd and get very offended by offers on their secondhand goods, they often seem very fixated on the price they paid and don't seem to realise that secondhand goods are only ever worth a (usually small) percentage of the original price. Don't get me started on those who say things like "do you know how much these are new" I just think "of course, but if I wanted to pay near that much I wouldn't be looking at secondhand would I?"

Ultimately something is only worth what someone will pay for it. Some Vinted sellers seem content to just leave their stuff on there for years never selling so she may be one of those.

In my experience the best (in quality and value) secondhand stuff is usually priced the cheapest or even free as the people selling it are the type that don't need the money, are just interested in getting rid as quickly as possible and usually don't wear things out before replacing.

Then what’s your thread about? Rude or not, keep making the same offer and don’t get offended if they tell you to do one and block you.

If you don't understand this thread it is time for you to move onto something you can comprehend. I'm not going to explain myself to you.

@hamsterchump - I once saw a listing on Vinted for a bundle of clothes from H&M, they were used and on for about 25% less the retail price. The seller had posted a receipt to show what she paid new for them and mentioned it about 3 times in the description- madness!
