Do you think by listing the ten most recent things you bought and for whom (apart from food, transport/petrol etc) over what period that you would be able to tell a lot about someone? This is since the being of Jan - here goes:

  • Uni law textbooks for ds
  • Skin cream for DM
  • Toothbrush heads for me
  • Toothbrush charing cable fo rme

-Hypoallergenic cat food for DCat who has cat eczema
-Shin pads for DD for football as she had outgrown her old ones
-a PG Wodehouse book from Amazon as a gift
-some ready meals for tonight’s dinner
-lip balm
-a get well soon card for my niece who has had a minor op

-concert tickets for a string quartet performance for this weekend, not too expensive though, about £10 each and £5 for DD!

Now I write it down it’s a bit of an odd assortment of things really!

To be honest everyone in this thread sounds really middle class from their purchases anyway 😂

In the last few days:

Sticker book
Torch
Batteries
Milk
Bread
Tea bags
Strawberries
Blueberries
Knickers
Cupcakes

Clearly it hasn't been an exciting spending week!

hungryhiphop · 08/02/2024 06:20

Interesting thread - going by mine, I'm not sure it says much. I save money buying stuff from FB marketplace but also have a hobby which could be seen as quite middle class that I spend a lot of money on!

Cardigan from a high street shop
Top from a charity shop
MAC Foundation
Microwave from FB marketplace
Valentine's card from Etsy
Birthday present for a family member
Stuff for a craft hobby
Protein powder
Ticket for a gig
Ticket for a class related to my hobby

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 08/02/2024 06:21

Four Seasons sleeping bag
Thermals
2 x fleece
Hat, scarf and gloves set
T.shirt
Jazz shoes
Drama lessons
Online course in 3D printing
Zoom D&D sessions

All stuff for DCs hobbies!
I'm incredibly inhibited about spending money on myself and almost never do it.

StarTwirl · 08/02/2024 06:23

Perfume
Books
Tarte tape shape concealer
Multi vitamins
Cod liver oil capsules
Brush for dying roots
Cast iron casserole 3.3 L
Cast iron casserole 5.3 L
Hershel duffel bag

Octavia64 · 08/02/2024 06:35

Cushion covers
Pole to hold up my washing line
Streaming movie on Amazon (banshees of inisherin
Waterproof mattress cover
Lego for birthday present for dc
A book for birthday present for dc
Ring doorbell
Plantain from Amazon
Bamboo chopsticks

I'm actually reassured doing that as I worry about spending too much money on myself and it's mostly the house. New house which I am renovating.

Plantain and chopsticks because I was hosting foreign students for a week and they taught me how to cook their way.
