Which foods make you feel better after eating them?

I find bananas are a good mood food for me. Also maybe obvious but I like a healthy light meal such as salmon with baked potato and fresh veg. I also enjoy a roast dinner with mash, roast potatoes, veg and gravy.

I find I’ve become more sensitive towards certain foods as I’ve got older and I don’t like anything too spicy any more and I can’t eat a huge meal. I just ate four chocolate biscuits and enjoyed them but nutritionally I know they are not doing anything for me.

What foods seem to agree with you and do you feel better after eating them?

Eggs. Preferably boiled eggs but poached and scrambled have a similar effect.

Yes I know what you mean about eggs. If I can’t think of anything I fancy to eat I make a mushroom omelette!

Any kind of soup - tomato, mushroom. Broths too like ramen, pho etc. Love a warm, healthy soup.

Spicy food for me is such a pick me up, it can cure all!
Also home made sausage rolls, make me feel instantly happy.

Rice and lentils. Or a nice big colourful salad.

NOT DS1's birthday cake, which I made yesterday and which sent the entire house into a sugar coma....😬

Pudding with custard makes me feel better. Like being a child again.

My homemade soup. A random mix of stuff, always a little spicy. Warming and filling and makes me feel very virtuous.

Potatoes, especially jacket potatoes always make me feel good.

Olives, raw celery and satsumas. Can't abide salt added to food after it's been cooked and go easy on salt pre cooking.
