Which foods make you feel better after eating them?

I find bananas are a good mood food for me. Also maybe obvious but I like a healthy light meal such as salmon with baked potato and fresh veg. I also enjoy a roast dinner with mash, roast potatoes, veg and gravy.

I find I’ve become more sensitive towards certain foods as I’ve got older and I don’t like anything too spicy any more and I can’t eat a huge meal. I just ate four chocolate biscuits and enjoyed them but nutritionally I know they are not doing anything for me.

What foods seem to agree with you and do you feel better after eating them?

I only ever eat anything when I am sure that I will feel better after eating it. Why else would you eat it?

Hunger, greed, you just fancy it, boredom, how can you not know this?

Really, really good wholegrain bread, toasted, with salted butter. Food. Of. The. Gods.
Broccoli - raw, or roasted with a little olive oil, salt and pepper.
Olives.

Violently hot chilli or curry. Makes me feel mellow and slightly stoned.

A superfood salad I make with quinoa, edamame beans, pumpkin seeds, butternut squash cubes, pomegranate seeds, red onion, chickpeas, ginger, garlic, soy and lime juice. It makes me feel so energised and positive.

At the minute I'm trying to be healthy, so I feel good when I'm eating healthy.

However food that gives me joy to eat is generally something unhealthy haha. I love a really good curry, roast dinner, fillet steak and I'm a big fan of chocolate (in particular a Bounty)

I've started the new year eating healthy 6 days a week, and then on a saturday I'll have a treat, and I feel great

Any salad with a fruit, nut and cheese. I love them so much. E.g Kale, apple, cheddar, walnut or rocket, roasted chickpeas, almond flakes, pomegranate and feta. Love the latter on a flatbread with yoghurt and tahini too.

Definitely! One sip and I reminisce about our wedding day, engagement, weddings of loved ones, posh meals out where we’ve bought a bottle, all the celebrations..!

Any kind of soup - tomato, mushroom. Broths too like ramen, pho etc. Love a warm, healthy soup.

Edited

I second this - I never 'fancy' soup but when I make it or buy a nice one and always feel better and think 'I should eat more soup' 🥰
