For me, liver (or any offal) and mushy peas. In fact, mushy peas would ruin any food for me. Eww.

I’ve never understood “macaroni cheese” either. Looks like larvae covered in slime 😝 and I also love all things pasta.

Thecurtainsarewonky · 31/01/2024 20:23

Anything that comes with bones or fat or eyes or shell or squelches when you chew.
grilled tomatoes
olives.

AffIt · 31/01/2024 20:29

Okra
Fresh trout
Octopus (they're so cute and clever!)
Anything with fucking truffles in it

I don't eat meat anymore, but when I did, I ate most offal etc, because I believed in 'nose to tail' consumption.

The only thing I just couldn't get my head round was tripe: like eating stinky dishcloths...

Mydogisagentleman · 31/01/2024 20:30

Offal
Eggs
Fish
Lamb

RosePetals86 · 31/01/2024 20:30

Black pudding is essentially a giant scab. Knocks me sick!

HunterHearstHelmsley · 31/01/2024 20:31

Mushrooms. My favourite local restaurant appears to have a job lot and they're destroying every meal with them currently.

Overdone dry and tough roast beef, with leathery roast potatoes, tasteless floury gravy and soggy veg.

You've eaten at my FIL's then. Without the gravy.

Mine is what I received (very kindly) in Central Asia. A huge platter of all of the insides of a sheep. Lung, heart, kidneys and the centre piece... the stomach filled with blood and boiled. I have Scottish family, I eat haggis. But that was rough. No vegetables, no carbs. Just a plate of boiled insides. Thank goodness for the lovely tea and vodka to wash it down.

Rumpelslutskin · 31/01/2024 20:32

Rabbit or Lamb and Rice pudding
Runny egg whites
Fried bread slice
Black pudding
Pickled eggs
Eels
Anchovies

TheTecknician · 31/01/2024 20:33

@MardyBra To ensure that, in these cost-conscious times, we avoid any posts along the lines of being thankful for what you have, some people have no choice what they eat and so on. The potential posters are out there but I'd rather they didn't hijack a thread with self-righteous posturing. That's all!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 31/01/2024 20:36

VeryQuaintIrene · 31/01/2024 20:37

Really runny eggs, sushi and anything very slimy.

Foodfoodfoodfood · 31/01/2024 20:47

Chicken stir fry in a (pickled) sweet and sour sauce 🤮 Even if given a lot of money for it, I’m genuinely not sure I could eat a plateful

UsedtogodownNevins · 31/01/2024 20:53

Shepherd's/Cottage Pie. I think it looks like the most depressing, unappetising pile of slop on a plate.

mamakoukla · 31/01/2024 20:56

Overcooked and over salted vegetables. So wrong

BrightLightTonight · 31/01/2024 20:56

Pulses

Ladyj84 · 31/01/2024 20:56

Liver, sushi and peas those garden ones lol

mrsm43s · 31/01/2024 20:57

UPF fake food e.g vegan "meat", vegan "cheese", nasty plasticy margarine.

Meat that is meant to be served rare overcooked so that it's grey and leathery throughout. Scrambled eggs that have been over stirred and over cooked so they're bitty and rubbery. Overdone soggy vegetables.

I'm fine with offal (although to be fair, I've never tried tripe and have no burning desire to), black pudding, mushy peas, rabbit, haggis - lots of things that are PP's no-no items!

JamAtTwo · 31/01/2024 21:08

Spying a slice of black pudding in a fry up makes my heart sing 🎶. But I wouldn’t have eaten it before about age 40

Franklin2000 · 31/01/2024 21:09

As a vegetarian, any meat at all. Any mince, even veggie mince. Runny eggs. Egg yolks. However, in the spirit of the thread it would be DH’s liver and kidney pie. I shit you not. He’d probably serve it with mushy peas too 🤢

Chewbecca · 31/01/2024 21:13

Mushy pea haters - please try this pea roll recipe - it's delicious!

Served this at school dinners- Cowboy pie - spam, baked beans and Smash. I used to cry when I saw it coming out.
