bit woo- but have you ever met anyone you have felt scared of for no reason?

I'm fascinated by stories like this- when you meet someone and they don't necessarily do anything - more that you just feel scared- intuition etc

I'm nearly 50 and it's happened once very strongly (was justified I later came to find out) and once not as strongly - so it's not a regular occurrence, but stories like this really interest me

I just googled that man @HopeInAJar and he actually gave me a weird feeling! Horrible to say.

You mean the poor man who actually went missing and may have been the victim of foul play?
He's not the one who gave that poster a bad feeling, and he didnt do anything wrong. Jesus F Christ.

Neither did half the people mentioned in the thread. That’s the point.

No, it's not. The people who have been mentioned on this thread were people that others have actually interacted with and got a bad feeling from - some of whom were later found to have been dodgy - not a pic in the bloody paper; the pic being of a poor missing man who was either the victim of a crime or an accident.

You've never met him. He was only mentioned because that poster was converned that some strange men she'd met who could have harmed him. His family are grieving FFS.

No, people have mentioned Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Carr, Rita Ora and others without any reason whatsoever other than a hunch. I never said the man did anything wrong, I said I got a weird feeling looking at pictures of him.

Of course it is absolutely terrible for his family and I hope he didn’t suffer in any way.

LooksLikeIPickedTheWrongWeekToQuitDrinking · 05/02/2024 16:15

You have a hunch about him, then @alliancedublais ? From a photo in the paper. Really?

If you genuinely feel for his family, you could always try just NOT writing fucking stupid things about him on the internet.

Just a thought.

I don’t have a hunch about him, don’t put words in my mouth.

Christ on a fucking bike. You said he gave a a weird feeling, based on NOTHING. This poor man, a victim of something. You even said yourself that was horrible.
Now you’re defending it.

Years ago dh & I had dinner with some friends. They'd invited another chap. I had a bad feeling from him. He gave us a lift home and afterwards I said to dh he gave me the creeps. About 10 days later he was in the news...he killed himself after illegal material involving children was discovered by police in his home.

I've been away and for some reason this thread played on my mind as one day, about 40 years ago, I was going to meet my then boyfriend at his sister's house. This meant a tube journey and there was a man in the carriage who made me feel uncomfortable so I changed carriage and so did he. At my final station I tried to leave as late as I could but unfortunately he followed me. I'm glad I was fit then as I ran up the stairs and then over the road and I'd managed to go a short way up the road when a bus pulled up and the driver told me to get in as he'd seen the man chasing me he dropped me off outside the house and didn't leave until I'd opened the door.

A couple of weeks later there was a picture of the man on the front page of the local paper , he'd been charged with multiple rapes

That’s given me the creeps reading about it. Glad you’re okay.

I promise you all this isn't me being disrespectful to any of their victims but this thread reminded me of my wee grandmother in the 90s when Cromwell Street was being dug up, I was sat on her knee and she said, so emotional, "Oh Lauren, can you imagine it, people with such beautiful, friendly voices being so wicked?" And it still lives in my head rent free. Like because the west's had lovely voices my grandma couldn't accept their crimes! 😂

I recently watched something on the wests and Fred launches rose under the bus, saying how she wore a victims clothes after the murder, asking detectives something like, "how cold can you be?"

Erm, Fred hen, that's probably the least of the poor lass problems. The sexual torture and murder are probably somewhat more damaging to her, you utter nob.

Imagine the dummy sat next to you on the settee and their head turns to look at you, it's the stuff of nightmares!

Jimmy Carr
David Walliams

Jimmy Carr looks like a walking waxwork oh my he gives me the heebee jeebies.

Boxofstars · 13/02/2024 23:58

Dustin Lance Black who is married to a much younger man a olympic swimmer. He gives off major control freak vibes to me.

Hotgirlwinter · 14/02/2024 00:07

A man who came to do something in my house, I have no idea what I can’t remember exactly, he was helping someone like a plumber / builder. I just remember his energy and I didn’t like it, my dog went mad and was barking his head off, growling etc.
Unusual as my dog was extremely friendly to anyone I let in the house, but he did not take well to this guy.

I was pleased when he left.

HRTQueen · 14/02/2024 00:42

I think David Walliams and Jimmy Carr play on that they look a little creepy it’s part of their act and it’s uncomfortable at times

im not sure from a photo you can get that sense something is off (unless obvious) but maybe in film as what you are picking up is the very small facial movement, change in tone of voice etc

in real life you can feel someone’s suppressed anger or fear etc some people are more in tune with this. It’s surprising how exhausting this is to be around people who are suppressing strong thoughts and feelings

@DonnaGiovanna Jimmy Carr also gives me the absolute creeps.
Same with David Walliams. He has actually said "I love cruelty, it's my favorite thing in the world" and I believe him. I have no idea how he is popular or has had the career he has had. Everything about him makes my skin crawl. He also seems to absolutely hate women and hide it very badly.

SpanishandGreek · 14/02/2024 17:07

@HRTQueen I only read the first page before posting and then started scrolling and saw you comment. It seems I am definitely not the first on this thread to mention DW. I don't think it's part of his "act" at all. That's what too many people do IMO - deny the obvious reality in front of them when someone is giving off extremely dark vibes.
