glad you are not the noodle thief especially as some quite nefarious plans are being hatched on the other thread to take her down....

I was accidentally a food thief at work.

I bought a massive bag of babybels which i love with grapes as a snack. Shoved them into the office kitchen I thought (kitchen shared between 4 different firms.).

Got very annoyed when each day I'd get a babybel for afternoon snack and there would be one less than there ought to be. felt quite pissed off and had sour thoughts about the other firms (all law firms. Criminal lawyers and tautology came to mind).

Realised a day or so later I'd left my bag of babybels in a carrier bag I'd dumped under my desk.

FruitBowlCrazy · 18/01/2024 16:59

I've had three fruit shortcake biscuits. 😂

Devilshands · 18/01/2024 17:00

French Toast for dinner, sourdough cheese on toast for lunch and three triple chocolate chip giant muffins for breakfast.

It’s been one of those days.

edwinbear · 18/01/2024 17:02

I hadn't eaten since Tues lunchtime as I was suffering with a horrible D&V bug yesterday that DD brought home from school and managed to spread round the entire household. At lunchtime today, I managed a cheese sandwich, with real butter and fresh granary bread from the bakers. It was the most delicious thing I've eaten since the tea and toast I had post birth!

KStockHERO · 18/01/2024 17:03

My lunch was meant to be cous cous salad left over from last night's tea.

I fucked it in the bin and, instead, had a massive glass of full sugar coke, salt and vinegar Hula Hoops, chilli heatwave Doritos, a Daim bar, a Yorkie bar and a mug full of pick and mix.

I'm home alone tonight so microwave chicken tikka masala it is. My favourite Grin

GintyMcGinty · 18/01/2024 17:06

I've ordered an Indian takeaway to be delivered:

Veg pakora to share
Chicken tikka, rice and naan

I am in hospital and when DH asked if I wanted anything bringing in for some reason I had a craving for poppadoms and lime pickle. Really looking forward to them arriving later for a bit of a treat after visiting time has finished.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 18/01/2024 17:12

Nothing yet (because tuna and GF pasta salad for breakfast/lunch at work doesn't count as a treat when there aren't any olives, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and more olives sliced peppers including jalapeños), but DP will be home in about an hour and he'll probably come up with something good. I think it might be spicy prawns, rice and assorted veg, going by what's in the fridge.

Yesterday's was a homemade GF pizza - as commercial GF ones are even more crap than standard shop ones, I hadn't had pizza for years and this one actually tasted good, so that was a total treat.

Judellie · 18/01/2024 17:13

A Ritter marzipan bar. I do miss the Thorntons shops for their marzipan bars, cappuccinombars, coffee creams etc.
Have also had a lot of bread and butter with Philadelphia garlic and herbs - it's January and we all need cheering up!

Haven't seen said noodle thief thread but I'd likely agree with many posts, nothing worse than having your food stolen. I'd be absolutely fuming if someone stole my food at work. I get unreasonably upset when my 2 year old takes my cheese and crackers

BouleDeSuif · 18/01/2024 18:03

@Judellie I used to share a house with a girl who's uncle worked in a Thornton's factory and they had a reject shop on site, where employees could buy a massive (3lb) bag of rejected bars. For £1. He kept us very well supplied. What a time to be aliveGrin

Topsy44 · 18/01/2024 18:06

A Maltesers chocolate bunny.

AdaColeman · 18/01/2024 18:30

The very last slice of Stollen in the world.

Going to have truffle crisps and black olives with a glass of sherry for aperos.

InstrumentsofTorture · 18/01/2024 19:01

Asda custard slices are the best - I consider myself an expert in this area and have indeed done considerable research :).

Haven't eaten it yet but I have some butterkist toffee popcorn waiting for me.

AuntieMarys · 18/01/2024 19:03

A bottle of Malbec

LaPalmaLlama · 18/01/2024 19:05

just had a mini pack of chocolate fingers- unbelievably disappointing. I don't know if it's my age but I'm going off chocolate - it all just seems to taste of "sweet" rather than having a flavour. Even the handmade ones I got at Christmas I could have taken or left whereas when I was a teen I LIVED for chocolate- would go get a magazine and a family bar of fruit and nut and that was a happy Sunday afternoon. My sense of taste is fine with everything else and my mum did say her sweet tooth got less as she got older so maybe that's my fate too.

Choconuttolata · 18/01/2024 19:09

Beef goulash with sour cream and crusty bread 😋

Luckydog7 · 18/01/2024 19:26

I made caramel cornflakes bites with chocolate on top. Caramel is home made with real butter so is lush. I'm supposed to be dieting but failed today as we have a week of birthdays coming up including mine so I think I just need to accept that it's going to be carnage😂. Has leftover rice so made teryaki pork rice for dinner so happy as a pig in mud right now.

PlumpAndGrump · 18/01/2024 19:33

3 rich tea fingers.
Sounds shit but I've been ill and unable to eat and they tasted lovely

MyNameIsBatty · 18/01/2024 20:06

I made a sponge with buttercream and raspberry jam and am about to have a slice with a cup of tea. Can't wait!

Jeannie88 · 18/01/2024 20:15

Tucked into an almost stale home made sarnie with tomato that had made it soggy, drinking caps of flask coffee in a corridor waiting to teach the next class! This was after an accident with my car on way, paradise! X

SanFranBear · 18/01/2024 20:20

Stayed overnight in a hotel for work and came with breakfast.. I adore a breakfast buffet and this one was top notch, possibly the best I've ever had...

The A La Carte element had fresh pancakes, eggs benedict and omelettes and there was 'cut your own' heavenly granary bread for the toast rollercoaster... a whole cake section with pastries, éclairs, banana & toffee loaf, oodles of mushrooms cooked to perfection, delicious sausages (not just pork ones bunged in a fryer), sweet chilli sauce... might not sound like anything extraordinary but it was absolutely fantastic!

I am totally staying there again if I get the chance - the room was pretty standard but the breakfast....!!!!

PollyOrange · 18/01/2024 20:41

Had a day away for work today. Very early start and eaten junk alll day. But my highlights were:
Sushi lunch - ones I'd not had before with omelette on top
Chocolate cornflake cake in Costa
Packet of crisps
Now feel a bit sick but I actually think I'm thirsty and there is some red wine so...

NoMoreFalafelsForYou · 18/01/2024 20:44

Sorry, couldn't get past " Sun blazing in through the window"
It's been minus 4 here all day 😭

tillyandmilly · 18/01/2024 20:45

Lovely slice of burnt basque cheesecake! It was delicious!
