I have just sat in bed, sun blazing in through the window and had a massive lemon and sultana Danish and latté. felt like a real luxury. what did you eat today that felt like a real treat?

Disclaimer: I'm not in the UK and it's not cold.
I had two big scoops of ice cream , one sort of caramel, the other almond nougat, in a paper cup. It absolutely hit the spot.

Had to take a couple of parcels to the Post Office at lunchtime and needed some milk...also bought DH and I a nice sandwich each for our lunches (both WFH and usually make something ourselves / have cereal). He had walked the dog while I ran errands so we both enjoyed a 'made' sandwich when we got back in the warm (coronation chicken for him, chicken tikka for me v nice for shop ones as the Post Office is part of a general store and they make their own)

I might have had a bag of Taytos with mine and possibly a Galaxy after that 😋

Seriously hope you are being sarcastic .

No. I am doing keto. I am finding having bits of DD's treats keep me going.

Crushed23 · 18/01/2024 16:26

The BEST green smoothie.

Handful of kale
1 avocado
2 scoops of protein powder
Spirulina powder
Frozen blueberries
Water

20 seconds in the Nutribullet.

Delicious and PACKED with nutrients 😃

I bought an M&S meatloaf and M&S potato and spinach dauphinoise for dinner. That feels very very treaty to me. (I have a savoury tooth)

this honestly sounds delicious 😋

I finished my Christmas chocolates this afternoon catching up with some TV.

weleasewoderick23 · 18/01/2024 16:26

I had a big steak pasty at lunchtime ( I'm in Devon). I'm regretting it now as it always gives me a carb hangover.

Worth it at the time though 😉

Definitely my ramen! Purchased from Sainsbury's myself and I'm off work today although we also have a food thief at work unfortunately, seems a common issue in many workplaces

glad you are not the noodle thief especially as some quite nefarious plans are being hatched on the other thread to take her down....

big piece of my homemade Xmas cake! need to get it finished before the weekend as I'll be baking for DD's birthday!

Sybila · 18/01/2024 16:30

Christmas cake and a lump of crunchy cheddar with a cup of strong yorkshire tea

shellyleppard · 18/01/2024 16:30

Marks and Spencer's chocolate covered bourbon biscuits.....omg I could quite happily eat the whole packet 😂😂😂😂 limited myself to just the one though 🤷‍♀️ last night made spaghetti Bolognese for the first time in absolutely ages. Then sat down with a nice glas of wine ❤️

I desperately want crisps but we’re snowed in and there’s none in the house, so I had some cheese and marmite on toast for a salty crunch snack alternative and tried to pretend it was crisps 😂 was very very disappointing.

Most days I have Greek yogurt with a mixture of chopped apple, blueberries, raspberries and grapes, depending on what we have in. Topped with honey and flaked almonds as well. Sometimes, it’s defrosted berries.

Today’s treat was a sausage sandwich instead.

this is why a good nap after each meal is essential. they have these in Japan and in Spain they have the siesta.

I'm eyeballing a leftover chocolate orange and a 10 pack of Creme eggs.

Not sure which to go for yet, but I have a pleasant feeling of anticipation Wink

Nomosapien · 18/01/2024 16:42

Jaffa cakes and some dairy milk. My period is imminent and I just need the sugar today!

Lovemusic82 · 18/01/2024 16:43

I have been craving iced buns for weeks, went in M&S and there were some jammy iced buns marked down to £1.50, I bought them and ate 3 in my car 😬

momager1 · 18/01/2024 16:44

we have been running like crazy for the last couple of days due to a new home purchase (things work alot faster here and we will be in it in about a month) So realtors, 2x to house, lawyers office. UGGH. So stopped at the grocery store on our way home at lunch today, and it has a huge hot counter with a cafeteria type area that you can sit and eat. I got two half rottiseri chickens, a container of rice, a container of hot beans for said rice (a staple here) a bottle of water and a coke. They give you paper plates and cutlery, not high class here lol. I had half a breast with the wing (huge, not a competitive undereater) husband had the other half breast and the thigh/leg combo. Half a chicken is now home with us and will make a great soup or pot pie tomorrow. 475 pesos/ 10 dollars USD or 7.88 GBP. I enjoyed and cannot believe I have lived here 9 months and never did this . Shall happen again. Next time I will try one of the fresh paellas

sounds lovely. recently I've taken to mixing greek yoghurt with orange zest, juice, honey, crushed saffron and rose syrup. then setting it in the fridge in bowls/martini glasses. I top with toasted flaked almonds/pistachios before eating... and it's amazing. give that a try if you want. you can get organic rose syrup with no additives.

oooh nice! That is right up my street as honey on greek yoghurt is about the only sweet thing I eat.

I am not counting the sugar in alcohol. Just saying.

AlienBabi · 18/01/2024 16:50

Chocolate, Jaffa cakes, and ramen noodles

pretty much a daily diet 😅

Definitely jammy iced buns/fingers. TBH they were not as good as I thought they would be but I had to eat 3 to make sure.
