Can you still jump/hop?

Random I know! I can't do either. Not sure if it's an age thing, or that I've got plantar fasciitis, but even on a good day, I just can't convince my body to do it 😁

Yes

Forward rolls are tough though

Singleandproud · 16/01/2024 22:25

Yes but I tried a cartwheel in the summer....never again!

megletthesecond · 16/01/2024 22:26

Yes. I'm only 49 though.

LaughingAtClowns · 16/01/2024 22:26

I'm 64 and had a stroke 2 years ago, but I can still hop and jump.

duckpancakes · 16/01/2024 22:27

Oh

I can't no.

Shit

TheGhostILoveTheMost · 16/01/2024 22:27

I can but my pelvic floor doesn't like it.
Forward rolls are out of the question! The last one I did was approx 10 years ago when I was trying to show my then toddler. Never again 😆 I was so dizzy! Age does weird things to your body! 😂

Divebar2021 · 16/01/2024 22:28

I can but I’d probably pee myself.

IncompleteSenten · 16/01/2024 22:29

God knows. I'll try tomorrow and see. Not doing it tonight cos I'm upstairs and I'd probably go through the floor. 🤣

Mind you, part of me thinks I could probably still do a handstand so I'm clearly wildly unrealistic.

MurielThrockmorton · 16/01/2024 22:31

Yes. And I do frequently in gym classes. 55. I agree that pelvic floor can be an issue though!

Somethingsnappy · 16/01/2024 22:33

Can anyone sit down on the floor without your knees, or any part of your arms or hands touching the floor, and then stand back up again, same rules of touching? You're supposed to be ultra fit and flexible if you can. My children can. I can sit down, but can't get back up again.

I can hop and jump though. (I'm 46).

Only by rolling onto my knees and then up. That's cheating, I guess?

Towerofsong · 16/01/2024 22:36

I can hop and jump still but my legs don't feel as springy as I think they should be. I'm 54

I can do that. I'm determined not to lose it so do it every time I get on and off the floor.

Jellykat · 16/01/2024 22:37

Pelvic floor fine here, but no i wouldnt even try jumping or hopping because of
Osteoarthritis and hypermobility in my ankles and feet, i'm 60

sanityisamyth · 16/01/2024 22:37

No. My knees are held together with screws!

Aparecium · 16/01/2024 22:37

This time last year I couldn't, but since then I've lost 2.5 stone and now I can. Not elegantly, not high, not far and not for long, but I can go, skip and jump again. I'm 58.

Can't get up without putting my hands or knees on the floor, though.

Same

AllTheChaos · 16/01/2024 22:41

Not a hope 😂 I did try in the vague hope I’d be surprised. I wasn’t!

Well that was ungainly and not what I should have been attempting at 22.30...thanks 🤣

Ah yes, sorry. No knees touching floor. 😩

@Towerofsong

yeah it is, but enjoy your knees??

@ in my 40's I could do all these things still, but my knees have completely stopped bending now they're very painful.

plus I've had shoulder surgery so couldn't do handstands or cartwheels as one arm has no ability to weight bear & although if stretched correctly us still full length, but wouldn't be equal length if I did a hand stand.

as a result of the accident I now get vertigo

love what your body CAN do, while it can don it!!

swingtowin · 16/01/2024 22:45

I'm 60 but I can still hop, jump, do handstands and cartwheels but I've always been fairly flexible - headstands though I can't!

KohlaParasaurus · 16/01/2024 22:45

I can hop and jump but I'm not sure I'd enjoy trampolining as much now in my late 50s as I did even 10 years ago.

I can't sit down on the floor and get up again without using my hands. I'm not sure I ever could. Flexibility is not one of my superpowers.

Nestofwalnuts · 16/01/2024 22:46

I'm 59 - I can still jump and hop. And do a forward roll, though it ends with me on the floor, not standing, and it is very uncomfortable on my neck.

Couldn't jump when I had plantar fasciitis though - far too painful and not a good idea. Let it heal first, OP.

BogRollBOGOF · 16/01/2024 22:46

Early 40s and still partial to a session at the trampoline park.
Can still forward roll and headstand (but as ever do need a wall to help with the getting in position, that was necessary as a child)

My walking down a wall backwards into bridge/crab days are probably over and have been for some time.
