Shorts over swimming costume

Does anyone do this ?

I do aqua fit a few times a week and although my costume is really well fitting and comfortable, I can't deal with the worry of an arse cheek or worse falling out

I don't want a leg suit because I'm fat and they aren't very forgiving but thought some slim fitting swim shorts over my costume might work

Does anyone do this ?

Someone has already mentioned Landsend. They do a decent range of separates, including jammers, different length shorts and swim skirts with/without integrated bikini knickers. They also have plus, longer and bigger bust options. As the PP said they are expensive full price but often have reductions. I swim several times a week and my Landsend costumes cope well with the chlorine.

Yes lots of people where this at my pool.

The area is majority Asian, so most are where modest swimming suits, with shorts, long sleeves, legging like things. It's all very interesting and looks comfortable

Thanks for starting this thread, so many great options! I've been so much more comfortable since switching to bikini shorts with a longer length (quite tall) Lands End tankini, even started swimming for exercise rather than just with kids. It bugs me how few options there are for shorts or short-style swimsuits ('would you like that in black or black?') compared to bikini cut but not willing to pull hairs out of intimate areas to go for a swim. (Reminds me of Caitlin Moran's mantra, 'if the men aren't doing it..')

Yep I sometimes wear my black swimsuit with a pair of black period shorts over the top, they are only small but hold me in and make me feel that bit more secure when I’m on the last day of my period. I daren’t swim any other days whilst I’m on! I think it looks like a tankini, which is common.

I also like suits like this:

I looked at this style a while back when we were heading towards Cornwall in a heatwave year. I opted for a shortee wetsuit with a front zip in the end. Very nice for board sports if it’s a bit warmer and less faff to put on.

Last year I got a swim top off Amazon that has short sleeves and a half zip. Bit thinner than the more branded stuff I have, but quite a versatile layer

Sorry, but l can’t think of anything more uncomfortable.

Decathlon board shorts here - they aren’t the baggy knee length type - cut quite high so great to move in.

I bought them for holidays when I was on and off a boat for snorkelling, they are fab.

Do whatever you feel comfortable in. I go to a triathlon swim class and there are women there who wear shorts over their costumes, full length swim leggings, and one woman wears a swim tshirt over her costume because of surgery scarring. Nobody cares.

I'm slim but have always had shocking cellulite, it looks like I've suffered some sort of trauma to my thighs. People stare at it and I've had people ask me about it/what happened to my legs when I've been at the pool and on holiday. So I wear a once piece shorts suit.

Look up Joey Atlas's workouts around cellulite removal. Has amazing results. I find them hard but they work so well. He has free stuff on youtube.
