Weird things your body does (not seen one of these threads for a while?)

Williaint · 15/01/2024 18:47

Just in the shower once again counting how many tiny TINY little red dots have newly appeared on my boobs and arms and made me remember some of the past MN threads about weird shit the body does for no reason, especially the things that Google says = death imminent.

the ones that sound concerning have all been checked out and explained as "body can do strange but harmless things".

As above - I get random pin prick red dots mainly on my boobs and upper arms. They are so teeny if I didn't look for them id prob never notice. They aren't cherry angiomas, just dots like I've been jabbed by a needle 🤔

When I wake up in the morning if I go to touch my eye bag area even just slightly, no actual touching, i hear a whooshing in my ear on the same side

I get very slight beaus lines on all my nails for no reason whatsoever

If I get VERY stressed I sometimes get a splinter haemorrhage, always on the same nail, same place

I occasionally get slight purpura in the exact same place on my thigh. Nothing like googling "tiny bruises on leg no injury" to put the shits up you!

Angel by Thierry Mugler literally smells like BO on me. Perfumes with similar notes are fine, just something in that reacts to my....oils???

I have one random very straight thick ginger pube that just grows forever and I have to trim it. (not just one pube, just one ginger one)

I once had a cyst on my forehead and when I finally squeezed it cut it out with a scalpel from Amazon a shard of glass came out 🥴 do not recall having an accident!!

Anyone else have anything a bit weird? Or am I not that weird and others get stuff like this?? 😃

I have weird tear ducts. On occasions they click, no idea why it starts but it goes on for a while and is loud enough that DH hears it. I also get an eyelash that grows out of my tear duct, gives me headaches when I don't realise it's grown long and needs plucking (which is horrendously painful).

I get that random, really really annoying eye-click, too!

Not the hair, though. That sounds really painful!

SteamingTangerine · 15/01/2024 20:34

If I press on the right side of my neck, over the vein (say when I'm applying moisturiser) it makes a thumping sound in my right ear. It doesn't happen on the other side.

Timeforanewnam · 15/01/2024 20:41

I have a mole/ spot on my eye brow and if I Rub. It it makes my inner ear itch

occasionally it gets infected (probably because I wiggle it so much )

nhs won’t remove it though

TootYourOwnHorn · 15/01/2024 20:41

When I brush my teeth my nose streams.

My left leg has no reflexes.

I can make my ears "close off" and whoosh by tensing my jaw.

I used to get one wiry white hair grow out of my arm, all of a sudden it would be really long. Hasn't come back for years now.

tobee · 15/01/2024 20:42

Before hysterectomy, when I had my period I used to almost always get a nose bleed at some point.

The little baggy bit of skin between my thumb and forefinger used to randomly hurt for a while. No idea why. It hasn't happened for years and I can barely remember what it felt like.

My fingers sometimes react to heat and swell and go red; usually if I've been outside and then come inside somewhere warm and worse if I'm wearing woollen sleeves. The hands itch badly and then relief comes and my hands start to sweat. 🤔

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 15/01/2024 20:42

I get eye clicks too.

Sometimes if I've been inactive I get a stitch whilst sitting still.

I fart and/or have to poo in libraries and second hand book stores.

NormalForNuneaton · 15/01/2024 20:43

If I use a cotton bud in my ear (yes, I know, you shouldn't stick anything smaller than your elbow in your ear) it makes me cough, often quite uncontrollably.

Rocksonabeach · 15/01/2024 20:43

I have a hair that grows out of a small mole on my cheek. It’s thick and it just keeps growing eg would be 3 inches long of I let it - it didn’t start growing until I was about 10 and then it would grow really long and it’s painful to pull out - argh

my feet constantly move literally constantly they jungle and I can’t sit still - it’s better now I take magnesium but it’s still there

I can see purple on my eye lids if there is a light in the room

I know when it will rain by a pain in my knee

Katherineryan1986 · 15/01/2024 20:44

Sometimes when I open my mouth a shot of saliva shoots out from under my tongue
Sometimes I get a very sore bump under my tongue with a black top to it - guessing it’s a block saliva gland, it usually just goes away by itself
The sore bump going and the saliva shooting are not related

I can scratch a particular spot on my leg and feel the scratch on my back. It's really weird, like there's a nerve connecting the two, or the parts of my brain that feel touch have been swapped over.

I have this!

Jifmicroliquid · 15/01/2024 20:45

I suffered from Alice in Wonderland syndrome as a child, several times a day. Few years ago I managed to manifest it again a couple of times, but not since.

Lying in bed at night, I sometimes feel like my body is bouncing. The sensation is very strong,

If I lightly stroke the inside of my right elbow it makes my right cheek unbearably itchy 😂

I get this too! Exactly the same but it’s my left side. It’s so odd isn’t it.

RobinGet · 15/01/2024 20:50

If I touch the inner bit of my belly button it makes me want to urinate.

I too get javelin bum and exploding head syndrome.

That's weird because every time I used to go to WH Smith's I'd walk into a wall of fart smell that someone had left behind. Seemed to be a place where there was a hidden agreement that flatulent folk could let rip!

Katherineryan1986 · 15/01/2024 20:55

If I poke my belly button I get a sharp pain in my vagina

Pablosdog · 15/01/2024 20:57

My eyes also water if I hear something really spooky!

My ears instantly whoosh when I see a spider - I’m scared of them.

I have an eyelash which grows out of each tear duct, I pluck them out as soon as I see them.

choccytime · 15/01/2024 20:57

@StrictlyAFemaleFemale am howling at this

I also get this! Very weird! I have straight, blonde hair and a thick, black, wiry, wavy strand of hair grows at the back of my neck. It’s like a horse’s mane hair.

WhatAFoolishFool · 15/01/2024 21:03

I also have Achenbach syndrome which is really bloody weird when it first happens and really freaked me out.

one long black hair growing next to my belly button.

I can do something weird with lower lip. Hard to describe but it basically wiggles independently of the rest of my lip, in like a 1cm area. Never met anyone else that can do it and it’s the only part of my lip I can do it with.

my bum tingles when I’m nervous. I don’t get butterflies in my tummy

When I sit cross-legged, my big toe curls of its own volition. Seems to be due to the pressure of leg B leaning on leg A's ankle. I've lifted and lowered leg B only to watch big toe on leg A curl and uncurl by itself. It's fascinatingly creepy to witness.

Flexor Hallicus Longus tendon attaches from our calf, past the ankle into the foot and underneath the big toe where it attaches. It’s job is to bend the big toe as it contracts- so if your other leg presses on it when it is on stretch it will pull the toe into flexion/bend it!

Crooklodge · 15/01/2024 21:06

I'm also the owner of a million red spots, started on my right breast, then right rib, now over my whole chest and abdomen.

Went for myofascial release therapy the other day, I've got several neurological disorders so I'm pretty shaky at the best of times. Could not relax for a second the whole time, turns out my body doesn't use being face down. My whole body twitched from head to toe, my right breast was convulsing like a fucking tit (excuse the pun) and spreading right through my shoulder and arm. The therapist was fascinated thankfully 😂

I have one extra long eyebrow hair that pokes out and have to pluck out completely and also a very strange hair always appears out of a mole on my arm and I have to pluck that out too...

I have a weird little toenail that is too thick to cut with scissors or nail clippers but can file down to regular thickness but every 6 months or so it's like a layer falls off and another layer of nail is beneath...

Whenever I shower I get a red blotchy rash on my neck... it's not a reaction to any soap shower gel or shampoo and I don't rub it with a coarse brush, sponge or cloth either... just always appears.

Recently I have developed a strange darker patch of skin on my cheek the size of a pea, it does t bother me and nobody notices it as far as I know

This sounds just like a sun spot/liver spot.

That's interesting. My friend always has the urge to poo when she's buying greetings cards.

I just assumed everyone could do the wooshy ear thing. Is that not the case?
