Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day & am thinking about making myself a fancy coffee. The girls are still sleeping atm so it's nice and quiet down here, apart from the washer for the towels.

My plan for the day is make a cottage pie for tea, wash the second load of towels, painting peg people and an hour at some more tassels for my Eras Tour jacket.

Dd1 has homework to finish off so she'll do that and then probably find something to do with friends.

And I've said I'll look at dd2's maths homework with her. She has a few questions she's struggling with.

After tea, I fancy a bath with one of my new bathbombs, & I'll take my book in with me 😊probably take a glass of wine too.

I've not long got up and made myself coffee and crumpets. DS is making pancakes for himself and girlfriend

DS2 was eighteen yesterday and he did his own birthday tea ( his choice) and I don't want to take the decorations down

His girlfriend stopped the night for the first time, so looks like we will be having an extra guest from now on

I'm still in bed, DD is asleep, DSS2 is watching nonsense on the iPad and DSS1 is annoyingly shouting at his PlayStation. DD1 is at work, amazed she made it as I can see from her insta that she was in a bar at 2am this morning looking a bit the worse for wear. But that's 18 year old energy for you.

Dh is downstairs making a full English for everyone that's here. Except me as I'm doing Intermittent fasting so won't eat til 12. Torture.

Will get up shortly and try and tidy up a bit and take the dogs for a walk as it looks quite bright out there for a change. I'm taking DSS2 to a trampoline park later with two of his old friends. He is nervous as since changing school he hasn't seen them much so we'll see how it goes. DH is taking DSS2 to football (130 mile round trip today- he isn't happy at the prospect).
I will get dd1 from work later and then do a big roast for dinner before chasing the various DC to do their homework.

Hopefully an early night as was awake at 3 this morning as now seems to be my pattern and didn't get back to sleep, so feeling a bit knackered.

DH is going to take DS (aged 11) for his “drive a real car” birthday present experience. DD will go with them.

Allegedly, he is going to put some supper on to slow cook and do a ton of laundry before he goes.

Me, I’m lying in bed with Covid. I plan to start a new Georgette Heyer novel, watch some trash on Netflix, take paracetamol and sleep.

DH is chauffeuring the children to all their activities and I'm going build some ikea furniture

going to cook a roast beef for tomorrow and Tues and that will take the pressure off after work. Bath. But if Netflix. Then about 3 hours of work but I will enjoy it (new project)

Sitting in a trance with my coffee scrolling while DH entertains our 5 month old DD. Dog snoozing on the couch and trying to summon up the energy to get through the to do list that's grown overnight 🤯

We were going to go out as a family somewhere today but at 6am I could hear dh throwing up in the toilet. In all the 13 years we’ve been together I’ve never seen him throw up. He’s asleep still so I’ll leave him. He’s got a migraine too and can’t get warm he says.

Dd1 wants to go out but doesn’t want to get cold. We’re in my bed with a coffee and heated blanket. Dd2 is in her bouncer.

Steak pie for dinner. Might pick up some steak chips for it. It was going to be a cooked breakfast this morning but I doubt dh wants it anymore.

I'm currently at the kitchen table with tea and toast. We babysat for a family member last night so have a house full of children who are currently playing Mario kart. I already feel like I need a weekend to get over this weekend!

Load currently in the machine and I will wash up breakfast stuff and clean the bathroom this morning,

We have a carvery booked for later when it's just oh and our 2 dc. Then I am very much looking forward to coming home and doing fuck all

I'm second proving some sourdough English muffins ready for everyone waking up. Then I’m digging out my new veg patch if the ground’s not too cold. Currently pissed off with DH due to his selfishness yet again. So keeping myself busy outside today.

Feeling far better than yesterday. Had an amazing dinner out last night and I think the change of scenery did me the world of good.

Today I'm off to do some hopping around on 2 as yet unbroken ponies. Very excited about it, and very pleased it's not raining for once.

No idea what's for tea, will stop off at M&S on the way to grab something quick and easy to throw in the air fryer.

Hopefully an early night, didn't get in until gone midnight and that's a good 2 hours past my normal bedtime!

I'll continue being the awful mum I am by not letting her climb into storage boxes and play ice skating in them.
Bit of Peppa pig, cocomelon and then look forward to nap time.
We don't normally do weekends like this but I'm really poorly with no family support so needs be

Morning everyone. Only been up 40mins with feels like a real luxury- DH got up with the little ones. Sat with a cup of tea eating English muffins with jam with the family. Both ds have swimming this afternoon. I need to do some laundry and a bit of work prep for next week. Roasted vegetable lasagne with garlic bread and salad for dinner so will prep that after swimming.

We have an enforced day in the house today as dd9 came home from her sleepover yesterday with a rash on her face which turned out to be impetigo so she has antibiotic cream and has to stay in (once she’s been using the cream for 48 hours she’s no longer classed as contagious and can go back out again apparently).

So, as I spent yesterday faffing trying to get her an appt I need to catch up on the jobs I didn’t do yesterday. So, uniform washing and cleaning the house. We also can’t have the steak I planned for tea tonight as I’ve not been able to get to the butchers so we’re having fish instead.

I’m sitting on the sofa with a mug of peppermint white hot chocolate (I’m trying to match Starbucks taste!) after the first trip out the house to drop DS (4) at Stagecoach. I’ve put on an episode of Superstore in the background whilst I scroll MN and hopefully find some new spaceship stickers for DS’s bedroom revamp.

Not sure what to do after picking up DS. It’ll either be a trip to the Zoo we’re members of, or drag myself to soft play - the only upside is soft play cafe sandwiches are superior to the zoo ones 😂

Going to make homemade pizza for dinner as DS has been asking all week and I’m too lazy to clean the kitchen after that make that on a weeknight. Might channel my inner smug 50’s housewife and blitz some veggies for a homemade sauce for it, but more likely when the time comes it’ll be jarred sauce!

Sympathies to everyone feeling poorly or dealing with poorly people. We are stilll getting over having had what we think was covid over Christmas and as soon as we think we are ok we feel rubbish again.

Ive been up since 8 and am just chilling with multiple cups of tea having had a cinnamon and raisin bagel.

Dog is being annoying. Constantly wanting treats. DH is drinking coffee and in the study as usual. DS is in bed still but will be up soon as he has a presentation to finish and submit today for a job application.

Quiet day planned. Want to finish my book. Slow cooked roast lamb shoulder for dinner. Will strip spare bed and wash the bedding. About to go and have a shower and wash my hair. If I can summon the energy.

Morning! Just had breakfast and my plan today is not to leave the house! Yesterday I ended up going here and there (three big shops) in pursuit of an 'essential' black skirt for my teenage daughter. No luck and she resorted to eBay. But it did mean my afternoon was taken over, so today need to stick to what I want to do!
So about to have a second cuppa, get out my crochet and finish a couple projects while watching my favourite crocheters on YouTube (they are so inspiring). Better do some laundry too but that's not a lot of effort! Then dinner and an evening watching tv with said DD. I'm out of wine though 😬, my Sunday night treat!

Morning all. Nice lie in this morning followed by pancakes for breakfast. I've just had a blisteringly hot shower and used some lovely products that were a gift from DSis. DD watching TV. We're meeting friends shortly and going to the panto. Probably be home late afternoon so then will have to try and cajole DD to do her homework whilst I sort uniform/work clothes/lunches etc for tomorrow.

Lucysmam a good morning to you. I've had two coffees and a pain au chocolate. Then I went to Aldi. The car was iced up and getting in proved challenging. Think Gladiators for small rotund unfit people. I had to eventually squeeze in the passenger door and clamber across. Then sit til the windows cleared of ice. A repeat performance when I'd finished shopping. The driver's door finally opened once I'd arrived home. Typical. I've just had a cuppa and a slice of toast to recover. I'll shortly make meatballs in tomato sauce in the slow cooker for tonight and tomorrow. I have leftover homemade pizza but I don't fancy it somehow. I think I'll freeze it. Baked apple and custard for dessert. Enjoy your day

@ssd T.S. has a lilac fluffy jacket for some of the Midnights set so I've bought a similar jacket from Vinted for the princely sum of £2 & am making beaded tassles to attach - you can just see the ones on it in the pic of T.S. & the other pic is my tassels 😊

Good morning lucysmam & everyone. Would still be in bed but my phone died so got up to charge it. Had a cuppa & plain choccie digestives in bed. First job is to do the dishwasher then bleach the surfaces. Later on will prep veg for tea ( doing chicken breasts in foil, posh stuffing balls left over from Christmas, roast spuds, broccoli & carrots). DD15 arriving back from girlfriend’s about 2. It’s dry here so will try to go for a walk at some point. Watching Call The Midwife tonight.

I’ve had a swim and a shower, come home and done a load of washing. Dh is poorly
so has already lit the fire and claimed his spot on the sofa, ds is shattered and just home from a sleepover, dd1 is still in bed but going to a works Christmas party this afternoon and dd2 is at work.
I’ll probably head out for a walk at some point this afternoon, most likely solo with my headphones (that’s my favourite, when no one wants to come with me 😂) although I might borrow my friends dog!

I've just come back to bed with a cup of coffee before starting work - busy work day today. Feeling a bit rough as I went out to a gig yesterday and ended up breaking dry Jan when they ran out of AF beer. I only had two glasses of wine but I can really feel them. Back on wagon today. I am amazed how rough I feel. But the gig was brilliant so still feeling very happy from that.

Hope to fit in a walk in the woods later if I can get this work done in time.

Just on first coffee S2 friend turned up before it was made! What 13yr old is up and ready to visit on a Sunday at this time. The parents of course got told nothing beforehand.

Shelving unit pieces all cut and dowel bits in struts so it's the big put together morning hope the measurements are right.

Blazers washing.
Bread making.

And I will slowly prep a roast for dinner.

Hopefully get everyone to watch Sonic 2 this evening.
