I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day & am thinking about making myself a fancy coffee. The girls are still sleeping atm so it's nice and quiet down here, apart from the washer for the towels.

My plan for the day is make a cottage pie for tea, wash the second load of towels, painting peg people and an hour at some more tassels for my Eras Tour jacket.

Dd1 has homework to finish off so she'll do that and then probably find something to do with friends.

And I've said I'll look at dd2's maths homework with her. She has a few questions she's struggling with.

After tea, I fancy a bath with one of my new bathbombs, & I'll take my book in with me 😊probably take a glass of wine too.

Early nights all round ready for the coming week💤

What about all of you? 🙂

I'm not feeling well, so still on the sofa in PJs..

This is aided by the fact my cat has sat on me for the last couple of hours. This cat NEVER sits on anyone and barely tolerates the humans in this house so I'm feeling very special and don't want it to end 🤣 except I really need to pee.

Morning @lucysmam and the weekend gang
I now only come on here for these lovely threads over the weekend, they
make everything seem very wholesome.
sending lots of her well wishes to those who need it.
Productive day here so far, Asda shop delivered with meal planned bits for next week, soup made for lunch and then I’m off to the Disney100 exhibition.
theres 20 tonnes of washing to do, but I’ll worry about that later 🤷
Enjoy your Sunday all!

lucysmam · 14/01/2024 11:29

@FayKnights I suspect my children trawl the houses on our street for washing to be done - there seems to be that much to be done sometimes!

Oh god I totally forgot I have a lovely jigsaw I got for Christmas that I’m really looking forward to doing so once I’m back from my walk that’s what I’ll be doing - wild Sunday plans 😂 Sundays are my absolute favourite day without fail.

rollonretirementfgs · 14/01/2024 11:34

This thread has made me feel warm and fuzzy!

Sitting in my jimjams (still!) with dd7 while dd11 is at football with DH.

Will walk the dog, cook roast beef and do some air dry clay crafts with the girls.

Bliss x

riotlady · 14/01/2024 11:47

DD and DH are currently at swimming while I cuddle on the sofa with DS, so I’ll pick them up shortly. We’ve got baked potatoes in the oven for lunch then this afternoon is my book club which I always look forward to!

DH is working tonight so DD and I will have leftover curry from the freezer for tea then I’ll watch Call the Midwife when she’s in bed. Hopefully DS will settle a bit better tonight as last night was a nightmare and poor DD went to bed an hour late as I couldn’t get him to stop crying long enough to do her bedtime!

dudsville · 14/01/2024 11:53

Having a slow day here. We woke up "early" at 7ish, I walked the dog and was at the gym by shortly after 9, home shortly after 10. Had a shower and then a cuppa while recovering and waiting for my hair to dry a bit. I'm finally up, dressed with done hair having a tea and snack of porridge before lunch with friends. Anyone else struggle to eat according to a schedule? Hopefully will then have loads of sofa time. Lovely Sunday here.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 14/01/2024 11:54

Trying to mend my dd’s broken heart. It’s not going well

Whattheduck · 14/01/2024 11:55

Had a shower then put a wash on that’s just gone in the tumble dryer and another wash has gone on
Had a coffee and danish pastry
Currently watching Silent Witness whilst making a list of what I need to do next week then going to prepare a roast to have this evening
Dh is packing as off to Australia with work tomorrow for 6 weeks
Dd is cleaning her bedroom then she’s taking the dog for a walk with her boyfriend
Will have dinner later and watch a film with Dh and Dd

lucysmam · 14/01/2024 12:33

Aw @EnjoyingTheSilence I hope she's ok 💐

Thanks @lucysmam shes 17 and first boyfriend. All been great til it wasn’t. I miss the days when a hug, plaster and ‘there there’ made it all better!

I know we all go through it, but as hard as it was back then, it’s somehow harder when it’s happening to your baby 😢

Chipsahoy · 14/01/2024 12:43

My dh is on a plane for a ten day stay in his home country, so just me and 3dc. It’s snowing here and looking like just the start here in rural Scotland so we are staying cosy. We’ve just been out to pick up some more rescue hens and now home for tea ☕️ by the fire. Homework this afternoon for dc but I actually doubt they will be in school this week!
Happy Sunday !

Funkyslippers · 14/01/2024 12:54

Got a few chores done this morning and made pancakes for dd2. Going to David Lloyd this afternoon for a class. Sausage mash onion gravy & veg for tea. Will watch some telly at some point too

Morims · 14/01/2024 12:57

Good afternoon everyone,
Woke up with toddler, had a nice breakfast of toast, sausages, and milk.
I am studying for an exam on Friday, while DH is with the toddler watching a car race.
For tea, thinking of Spaghetti with meatballs.
Enjoy your day.

RabbitsRock · 14/01/2024 13:01

funkyslippers that’s one of my favourite meals. Do you make your own onion gravy?

UsernameTaken76 · 14/01/2024 13:04

Hey everyone. Productive day here so far we had breakfast tacos and then set the slow cooker up for dinner tonight, smoky chicken and bean stew.

Made it through DDog’s vaccination at the vets successfully. Poor thing is scared of the vets so we have had multiple appointments before to do this, one appointment is great.

Brought DDog home for a sleep to recover while DH & I went to buy salad and vegetables. Healthy January going well so far!

Now catching up with Gladiators before making Spicy Pasta Soup for lunches this week.

Funkyslippers · 14/01/2024 13:29

RabbitsRock yes, it's dead easy but luckily we already had some in the freezer ☺️

JenniferJupiterVenusandMars · 14/01/2024 13:51

Good afternoon @lucysmam and followers, it’s a blue-skied, sunny afternoon here. I’ve made a cottage pie for dinner too @lucysmam 😋
This morning I changed the bed, did three loads of washing, hoovered through downstairs and washed the kitchen floor. I spent an hour sorting out the accumulation of bits and pieces around my armchair, things seem to gravitate towards my corner of the living room 🙄. I need to get on with the socks I started last week, I’ve probably unpicked as many stitches as I’ve knitted! It’s using two colours and I keep getting knotted up and losing where I am in the pattern 😵‍💫 Perhaps it wasn’t the brightest idea…..

DH is still out walking the dog, they were doing a new route the other side of the valley, all on winding lanes because the field routes and bridle paths are horrendously muddy and almost impassable in places. They’ll both be asleep for the rest of the afternoon!
I’ve just lit the wood burner, it’s all very peaceful here 🙃
Have a lovely afternoon everyone.

Soccermumamir · 14/01/2024 13:54

Been to the gym this morning now chilling with a cuppa 🙂 It was ds2's birthday yesterday so shattered today 😆 Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Soccermumamir · 14/01/2024 13:58

Oh and going to make chicken pasta for tea 🙂 Trying to stay away from Sunday dinners for a while lol

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 14/01/2024 14:15

This is a nice read.
We all had a lie in. Asda brought groceries.
I cleaned the fridge and I’ve made bolognaise sauce and a chick pea and butternut soup for during the week. DH is doing roast chicken for tea.
Helped DS with French homework and organising his planner and books for the week ahead.
Lots of laundry, tidying and DH did tip, charity shop and car wash runs as part of our “mission to organise” January.
I have retired to the bath, DS is playing Hogwarts Legacy and DH is dismantling Lego to sell.

Chanhedforthis · 14/01/2024 14:32

Well I've tried cleaning, managed the kitchen but currently 34 weeks pregnant with a toddler so screw the living room 😂

ssd · 14/01/2024 14:33

Thanks for the explanation @lucysmam , as a mum of boys its all new to meGrin

Decafflatteplease · 14/01/2024 14:39

Afternoon @lucysmam and all!

We had church this morning and I was helping with Sunday school, shattered now 😂 nipped to Aldi on the way home.

DC are all watching TV for a bit now and having a rest

Then it's homework, the last of the uniform wash, packing bags etc ready for the week, I've got a vinted parcel to post, all the usual Sunday routine.

Dinner is venison casserole in the slow cooker with mash. Sausage and mash for those who don't like venison and Mac and cheese for veggie DC. And banana bread for dessert/school snacks for few days. Can't wait for dinner!

Then self care Sunday of the usual bath, gin and kindle followed by early night.

auzziemummy · 14/01/2024 14:49

Afternoon everyone! Bit late to this but thought I'd share what I've been up to today.
My 14month twins woke us up bright and early this morning at 6.30 which was nice. Spent some time playing as family before heading out for a long dog walk. Came back and DH cooked us a roast and then twins went down for their nap. Me and DH were just lying on the sofa and felt our baby kick for the first time which was amazing (currently 18 weeks).

Once twins wake up (probably around 3/3.30) we'll spend more time playing and then probably face time some family back home. Once twins have had bath and bed me and DH have an episode of the Traitors to catch up on and then probably an early night!
