Where do you put clothes that have only been once and will be worn again that week?

I don’t really like putting clothes away again if I’ve worn them but struggling to think of something that doesn’t end with a whole heap of clothes out making the room look messy before they end up in the laundry bag.

Is it mad to not put stuff away? Interested to hear in others routines / storage solutions.

@soupfiend

So you sit around naked?

Yes, of course. That's the only logical explanation

ExtremelyJoyous · 13/01/2024 14:08

I don’t have space for a chair so I have a blanket ladder for clothes I’ll wear again, eg comfies, WFH clothes or leggings for walks!

Tryingtokeepcalmandcarryon · 13/01/2024 14:08

If you have room an Ottoman is really useful at the end of the bed. Clothes get left there until ready to go into the wash basket!

Chair of doom!

This 😂

JaninaDuszejko · 13/01/2024 14:09

On the bedroom chair obv. I would never put worn clothes back in the wardrobe without washing, that would encourage moths. Worn clothes are folded on the chair and are worn repeatedly until they are ready to wash. How long that is varies, but e.g. woollen jumpers it can be a month or two (depending how often it's worn) whereas jeans are worn 2 or 3 times.

If you're fancy you could use a valet stand rather than a chair. Still not very attractive draped in clothes.

Back in the drawer or wardrobe of course

Why wouldnt you

What do you think is going to happen?

Well, quite...

teudent · 13/01/2024 14:09

@BobnLen

But you must wear clothes in the house and take them off for bed

Why must I wear clothes around the house? It's not compulsory, is it?

I didn't realise anyone would struggle to understand a person staying in pyjamas

Magicisuponus · 13/01/2024 14:09

A clothes ladder in a corner of the bedroom

Well you said you dont wear anything twice but equally dont have a lot of washing

What other explanation is there

Unless you're naked and bed bound, in which case my apologies.

Thisisthedawningoftheageofaquarius · 13/01/2024 14:10

I just hang back up unless they need to get washed. Then they get washed on the next wear or whenever they need it.
hate the chair as clutter attracts clutter so a jumper and jeans suddenly becomes a mound of clothes…

@teudent you must wear something around the house tho? That makes no sense to me!!!

I'm not bed bound but I am disabled.

In what world are pjs not clothes?

So you do or dont wear your pjs twice

And if not, then thats a lot of washing, 7 sets of pjs a week to wash

On a clothes rail

Of course I do. I wear my pyjamas. Which I wash as often as the average person. I rarely wear clothes but when I do I don't wear them twice

Olika · 13/01/2024 14:13

I am not washing my clothes after one use so I am hanging them in a clothes rail and keep using them u til I want to wash them after which they go to wardrobe.

Chilicabbage · 13/01/2024 14:13

Pyjamas are not clothes is a new one even for MN

teudent · 13/01/2024 14:13

@BobnLen

Right,'of course I wash them. I don't also wash clothes though, hence less washing even though I only wear clothes once

Rainbowshit · 13/01/2024 14:14

I have some hooks inside my wardrobe that worn once clothes get hung on.

Sorry, I have always called clothes and pyjamas separate things.

RenoDakota · 13/01/2024 14:14

I put it away but inside out so can see / remember very quickly that it has been worn once.

suki1964 · 13/01/2024 14:14

Ms S has the chair of doom, I hang stuff Im wearing again the following day on the back of the bathroom door hook ( work jeans, evening leggings and hoodies ), something Ive worn to go out in, for an hour or two - back in the wardrobe

Username123343 · 13/01/2024 14:16

Chilicabbage · 13/01/2024 14:06

I put them inside out into the wardrobe. So unworn is normal, worn inside out.

Love this - going to try this idea because a PP said they put worn stuff in a certain place in wardrobe but I enjoy mine being colour coded, so that would mess with my joy. 😂 This idea would work for me.

VanCleefArpels · 13/01/2024 14:16

Cannot for the life of me fathom why some of you have “systems” to identify whether something has been worn or not! Either it’s clean enough to wear again one day therefore gets hung up in the wardrobe/ folded in a drawer, or it’s not and therefore in the laundry basket. Nothing more complicated needed surely
