2 landing attempts and still not down.

I think it's windy there

@ChanelQuiltedBag here I am don't tread on me..

saraclara · 13/01/2024 11:30

The Norwegian one has been descending. Will they try?

Scaleyflagpole · 13/01/2024 11:30

Another go - I do wonder if pilots rub their hands with glee or groan when they get their flight schedules!

Love these Flightradar threads, will stop the constant Cabin Pressure refs now 😁

Sowingbees · 13/01/2024 11:32

I'm with the others that have struck Maderia from their holiday list. F that .

Bottled it!

Ah that's not fair. The pilot has to take safety as a first priority. They know the limits. I suppose that's why we rarely hear of a plane crashing on to the runway in high winds! If it happens it is usually a technical fault or pilot error.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/01/2024 11:32

I've flown into and out of Paro. I'd heard about it being difficult but the weather was perfect and it was very smooth, although uncomfortably close to mountains on both sides. When we took off I could feel that we were rising steeply because I was pressed back into my seat, but when I looked out the window the ground was also rising steeply so my eyes were telling me we were flying low.

I thought the video might have had St Helena as one of the top 10 most dangerous. The airport was only fairly recently built and then they didn't use it for a few years because of the danger. I think it's too far away from anywhere to divert, so you pretty much have to land once you're there.

Walkingtheplank · 13/01/2024 11:34

Looks like Lyon flight diverting to the Canaries.

ineedsomehelp2 · 13/01/2024 11:36

Looks like Norwegian is giving it a go

ScoobyDoesnt · 13/01/2024 11:36

The Gatwick and Zurich are too high and turning again.

Looks like the Copenhagen is descending to give it a go.

soupmaker · 13/01/2024 11:37

Bloody hell had to go sort out a DC and missed loads of action. Fingers crossed for that EasyJet flight.

ScoobyDoesnt · 13/01/2024 11:38

Copenhagen has turned again!

I’m not getting anything done now

soupmaker · 13/01/2024 11:38

Walkingtheplank · 13/01/2024 11:34

Looks like Lyon flight diverting to the Canaries.

Poznan flight now over the Canaries.

Coldilocks · 13/01/2024 11:39

Where is the plane from Lyon going?

ScoobyDoesnt · 13/01/2024 11:41

Coldilocks · 13/01/2024 11:39

Where is the plane from Lyon going?

Looks like it’s heading to the Canaries.

soupmaker · 13/01/2024 11:42

Looks like Poznań turning to land in Gran Canaria

Muchtoomuchtodo · 13/01/2024 11:43

Loving this! I wonder how many people are aware of the challenges of the airport when they book their week in the sunshine?!

@BasilParsley I was hoping they’d want receivers near CWL but it seems that they’re not looking for any anywhere near us!

SandyWaves · 13/01/2024 11:43

Hate you guys....now i am watching it! Copenhagen turned around too

ineedsomehelp2 · 13/01/2024 11:44

Zurich is diverting

DCIJackieDeering · 13/01/2024 11:46

Turns out Flightradar is the thing my teenager will talk to me about it!

my day is gone now watching this. Further out there are 3 planes heading to Funchal, then a French Government plane that doesn’t have a destination but seems to be on the same flight path

saraclara · 13/01/2024 11:46

Like like the London flight is breaking away now. Just the Copenhagen one left?

ScoobyDoesnt · 13/01/2024 11:46

Think the Gatwick is heading to the canaries too as it’s climbing and has moved more east.

There’s 2 more Funchals en route - Warsaw and Munich

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 13/01/2024 11:46

Oh blimey. I was just about to book flights for Madeira in April!

I love flightradar. I live close to an airport under a frequent flight path and have become a bit obsessed.

LetMeJustCheckMyCitrusPocket · 13/01/2024 11:26

Jelly Babies to manual...

If that landing had been any safer it would have killed us.

ScoobyDoesnt · 13/01/2024 11:47

Copenhagen giving it a go again? Descending.
