2 landing attempts and still not down.

I think it's windy there

There's about 5 inbound flights in the next 30 mins.

Shows how tight the window of opportunity is with the weather.

I had this last year in heathrow - about 70% were landing at the time, the flights just ahead and after us made it, but we ended up in Stansted! Confused

Takes a Mitsubishi!

I bet the pilot is feeling quite smug.

Does anyone have the link for the live YouTube channel for the airport? Can’t find it.

Jewelanemone · 13/01/2024 17:54

I think there needs to be a permanent Flightradar topic thread.

@cakeorwine Thank you! That looks bad weather. I’ve been watching all afternoon and can’t believe the relief when they land as if I’m on it myself 😂

cakeorwine · 13/01/2024 17:57

Eurowings trying again

I used to fly to Madeira as cabin crew, always a hit and miss if the weather was bad!

itsmylife7 · 13/01/2024 17:58

Take away tonight as I've been on here reading the whole thread.

Totally fascinating.

Do we need the APP to watch it live ?

Brackhurst · 13/01/2024 17:59

Lisbon’s out again

soupmaker · 13/01/2024 18:00

OMFG that Binter Canaries. He's won't, will he?

Brackhurst · 13/01/2024 18:01

Where is Stuttgart going?

ajandjjmum · 13/01/2024 18:01

Stuttgart gone again.

Whatineed · 13/01/2024 18:02

lunarleap · 13/01/2024 16:25

No idea why anyone goes there on holiday

It is a very popular tourist destination, but a large proportion of the Portuguese that emigrated to work in the hospitality industry in the UK, (Jersey in particular has a large population), and in Europe originate from Madeira.

Yeah I get that but you risk having to do this terrifying landing

Maerchentante · 13/01/2024 18:04

Based on school holidays in the Stuttgart area I'd say most of that flight is probably pensioners and people who don't have school aged kids trying to get some winter sun.
Stuttgart seems to be going towards the Canary Islands now.

Brackhurst · 13/01/2024 18:05

Lisbon out again

Hardly terrifying. It's not like a 17 y/o who's just passed his test and has his dad's car keys.

Brackhurst · 13/01/2024 18:06

And the Tenerife Binter

It's not terrifying as the pilots don't land if it's dangerous.

Iberia looks like it's coming in.
EasyJet is nearly at Faro
Will they try tomorrow?

I believe EZY have a base at FAO so most likely a crew change then they'll have another go.

Brackhurst · 13/01/2024 18:14

Nooooo Lisbon got down to 1300ft then aborted

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 13/01/2024 18:14

It's a no from Lisbon

So close

Would they let you off?

Because there is no way I would willingly want to attempt it again?

It must cost the airline a fortune
