2 landing attempts and still not down.

I think it's windy there

So happy it landed! I love how invested we are.

DrinksbytheSea · 13/01/2024 15:15

Woohoo! Well done the pilots! I don’t think I’d have any ear drums left after that.

ajandjjmum · 13/01/2024 15:16

It really puts into perspective what a 'hard day at work' means!

soupmaker · 13/01/2024 15:16

I've missed all the drama. Just back in time to see BA land. Ooooffft.

Hopefully the pilots will be following the advice in your username!

Looks like one of the EasyJet flights is about to have a go.

bluebells1234 · 13/01/2024 15:16

What happened to the PXO plane?? I missed it!

titchy · 13/01/2024 15:16

No pressure easyJet.... presumably this is one that was diverted to Tenerife earlier - to refuel?

What happened to the PXO plane?? I missed it!

Went back to where it started!

mybrainisfull · 13/01/2024 15:17

PXO flew around drawing patterns in the sky, then went home.

soupmaker · 13/01/2024 15:19

You've got to feel for everyone who thought they'd head to Madeira for some winter sun. Go EasyJet.

Anonymouslyposting · 13/01/2024 15:07

Stupid question, I assume the pilots can’t speak to each other? So the BA flight won’t be talking to easyJet for example? I always assumed it’d all be through ATC but much more interesting if they are chatting away!

You can aircraft<> aircraft at times (remote areas, times of low workload, dedicated radio channels/frequencies) but if you tried it on an active ATC frequency such as approach or tower you'd get a severe telling off.

ajandjjmum · 13/01/2024 15:23

Well done Easyjet No. 1!

whatausername · 13/01/2024 15:25

I guess there is a lull in whatever factor or combo of factors has been causing an issue.

Coldilocks · 13/01/2024 15:27

Had to go out earlier so just popped home and logged on. Are the planes from Tenerife which are currently landing the ones which had to divert earlier this morning? I do hope the people who left Gatwick at 7am finally get to sleep in their Madeira hotels tonight.

whatausername · 13/01/2024 15:27

Crikey, it's half 3!
