@GothConversionTherapy seriously his voice was so rich and sonorous - like the blurb on a bottle of whiskey - full of honey, vanilla, sandalwood, sea salt, fresh peppery walnut, maple syrup.. unforgettable.

MayMiracle · 05/01/2024 17:32

We met Harry Kane once. Unlike many others on the thread he is very tall 😊. He was also friendly, polite and delightful with my children.

misssunshine4040 · 05/01/2024 17:38

Jenny Eclair who checked into the hotel I worked in and was a diva

Stringagal · 05/01/2024 17:45

Phil & Kirstie - he was very tall and really quite sexy in a smoulderingly confident kind of way. She was little and perky and exactly as she is on telly and said she loved my shoes. Thumbs up for both in the niceness stakes.

beguilingeyes · 05/01/2024 17:47

I bumped into Billie Piper at Heathrow just after her first Doctor Who season had finished. I went over and thanked her and said how wonderful I thought it was. I probably seemed like a mad woman but she was very sweet.

Pollyoramge · 05/01/2024 17:47

Very relieved about Bob M and would expect no less of Phil and Kirstie though was worried Kirstie may not be nice

MysticalMegx · 05/01/2024 17:54

Kalvin Phillips plays for Leeds Utd as he lives quite near us, he was at my son's football match. Lovely lad and was more than happy to have photos with kids

AzureBlue99 · 05/01/2024 17:56

Yeah, Eclair comes across as full of herself @misssunshine4040

I remember she was a Loose Women panellist for a short time. She said that when she was younger she resembled Debbie Harry. Debbie Harry was extraordinarily beautiful, Eclair not. Carol McGiffin just burst out laughing and said you looked nothing like her. Eclair was fuming. Such a high opinion of herself.

@OiGetOff
I love Bob Mortimer. He comes across like he's a really nice bloke I'm so pleased it seems like he is.
I'd love to meet him!

Russ Abbott was a grumpy git

Ringo Start lovely

Corey Feldman, arrogant and rude. Thinks he's up there fame wise with the likes of MJ and honestly believes he is him sometimes.

NotTheMissus · 05/01/2024 18:05

I have dinner with Pierce Brosnan from time to time, and exchange e mails. He is a truly lovely man. So family orientated, hard working, funny, generous, gracious, not at all demanding or ‘starry’.

I have worked with Amanda Barrie: hilarious
Maureen Lipman - ditto, and a lovely team member. David Tenant: had brought his kids with him to a fitting as they were off school and he had no childcare.

I find actors professional and good to work with in a work environment, getting on with their jobs with people doing likewise. Often great company within tbd team.

But can be tense and tetchy if required to smile and perform for the public when they are off duty. Hardly surprising really.

Snowflakecookie1989 · 05/01/2024 18:05

Met Jimmy Savile in the 80s at a Broadmoor event. He missed my hand. I was 13 🤢

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 05/01/2024 18:12

Tony Robinson (for whom I have a long and deep affection) who signed my copy of his book and played up to me for the photographs wonderfully. Was very sweet.
Rev Richard Coles, who was adorable. I now have having been kissed by him as one of my 'things about me that you'd never guess'.

Back in my childhood days, Richard Baker (newsreader), who was ABSOLUTELY TINY.

I love Ringo so much. Watching Get Back has really made me really what a wonderful man he is. He had the best clothes too.

chatenoire · 05/01/2024 18:25

Sir Paul McCartney is a bit more feminine than I expected. No photos allowed, but he gave me 5 mins of his time.

FishIsForCatsNotDogs · 05/01/2024 18:33

Russel Howard is not very tall and suffers from "small man syndrome". He's an arrogant pratt.

Isseywith3witchycats · 05/01/2024 19:04

egowise · 05/01/2024 19:35

I was winked at by James Martin the chef

Vitriolinsanity · 05/01/2024 19:36

I've met Gordon Ramsey, Michel Roux and lovely Monica. All were utterly charming, engaged and humble (even GR).

Goldenretrievermum · 05/01/2024 19:41

Dr Ranj - sipping copious amounts of Prosecco beside me at a west end show! He was as lovely and bubbly as ever

Goldenretrievermum · 05/01/2024 19:43

Jimmy Carr had dinner alone beside me and DH at a local restaurant during his tour. He was so rude and arrogant, even brought Starbucks in with him and drank it with his dinner in a Michelin star. Really acted like he was above everyone else and that the world owed him something, awful man.

Vitriolinsanity · 05/01/2024 19:44

Having RTT I've also met Jenny Eclair. Early 90's when she used to do stand up in Greenwich. She was actually very glam and extremely self-deprecating.

Sybila · 05/01/2024 19:44

I’ve met and worked with multiple major global music artists. Only 2 have been arseholes and they were both youngish, British female solo artists.

Ozgirl75 · 05/01/2024 20:22

I met Anneka Rice at a party a few years ago and couldn’t help but tell her how she looked exactly the same as she had 25 years ago and she grinned and was lovely about it and said “well I like you
My parents were in a lift in a hotel once and Daniel Craig got in. My mum kind of quietly gasped and when he got out of the lift he turned round and winked at her! She tells everyone about this.
They were also on a plane with Princess Margaret once and commented that she didn’t go to the loo for 8 hours.

Edited

I was on a flight with Jimmy Carr once and at baggage he was talking loudly so people would look at him. I determinedly didn’t look at him.
