Gloria Hunniford - very 'don't you know who I am?'

My son worked for a company delivering exercise equipment and he and some colleagues took some to Rod Stewart. It involved a lot of manoeuvring, Rod gave them a hand then gave them £20 each as a tip. Nice bloke.

Oldtigernidster · 07/01/2024 18:09

Many moons ago I sat next to Jon Culshaw at a dinner. He impersonated people throughout the evening, he was never himself! He was awesome.

NorthCountryGirl83 · 07/01/2024 18:10

I once served the actor who plays Peter Barlow when I worked in a village shop years ago, he got in a right strop with me when I didn't recognise him and asked him to take his dog outside as they weren't allowed 😂 it was only after he'd stormed off that my colleague told me who he was.

Nameychango · 07/01/2024 18:12

Cliff Parisi from call the midwife is exactly the same in real life as in screen, he's a great personality and all round good egg who does loads for the community too.

AlpacinoAlpaca · 07/01/2024 18:15

I met Corky while out grazing last Summer. He is the one who has the supporting role in The Adventures of Bottle Top Bill.

EarthMamaLee · 07/01/2024 18:22

Not me but my sister met Martin freeman, he’s her friends uncle, apparently he was horrible.

Pigwig10 · 07/01/2024 18:24

You must live not far from me then 🤣. I can remember my son and his mates told me they’d knocked on his door and got a selfie with him, this was about 5 years ago when my son was nearly 13. I was mortified 😂😂😂

Kirst84 · 07/01/2024 18:25

I met Dermot O’Leary who was EXACTLY the same as he is on telly, it was in a previous job and I spent about 2h with him and he was a joy. Also met the late Darius Danesh in same job, also very charming and warm.

i was devastated however when Westlife came in and they were so rude and dismissive. This was when they did reunion tour so no Bryan. I was gutted as always loved them but they were very cold.

Toomuchtrouble4me · 07/01/2024 18:25

Ricky Gervais can often be seen mooching around Hampstead, NW3 of a weekend. He bought some bits from my fruends shop and she said he lovely and his partner also really humble and nice. Also frequenting the area Helena Bonham Carter, Vanessa Felts, David Baddiel, Frank Skinner, Melanie Sykes, Billie Piper to name a few!
And Alan Carr - I saw him in Selfridges, he was sooo lovely to staff.

Toomuchtrouble4me · 07/01/2024 18:27

Oh and DH briefly met Camilla about 15yrs ago and has been a little bit in love ever since.

Kirst84 · 07/01/2024 18:28

This was my experience too. Although sorry to say Mark was also quite aloof that day 😩 I was so upset haha I was older by then but had been a huge fan as a teen.

Ineke · 07/01/2024 18:33

Ha, well, I didn’t meet him as such, but when I was younger I looked after a six year old Orlando Bloom. Bit of a mischievous charmer even then!

Happyface246 · 07/01/2024 18:36

Steve Davis the snooker player used to play regularly near where I live. One day as a teenager I was walking past and he asked if I would clean his car - I said ok and got buckets etc - took ages, still waiting for payment 35 years later!

I recently met Clive Myrie. Just the loveliest man ever.

I recently heard Richard Osman say that Clive Myrie is the nicest person he’s ever met.

JanewaysBun · 07/01/2024 18:42

I have a loose connection through family to a famous actor, he's polite and keeps out of the spotlight at celebration style events.

Met David Gest in Natwest - pleasant. Leezo from newsround used to frequent a nightclub that i did about 12 years ago (cant pass judgement as we were both always drunk so would chat shit with him sometimes haha)

Through work met tom parker bowls who was very charming and polite

Alison spryo from emmerdale was a drama teacher of mine. She is EXQUISITE

Parick Swayze - i saw him a few times when he was rehearsing at pineapple dance (through the studio window). He was so so handsome and charasmatic and had such star quality.❤️❤️

Madonna's daughter used to do the pro classes at pineapple when she was a kid, she was shy as everyone else in the classes was an adult but she had beautiful ballet facility.

beautifuldaytosavelives · 07/01/2024 18:43

Oh I can’t have it about Gary Lineker. Someone come on with something nice about him.

JanewaysBun · 07/01/2024 18:43

I also saw jeremy clarkson being a twat in richer souns in oxford!

MissingMoominMamma · 07/01/2024 18:47

@blahhblahhblahh - she emailed DH and asked him out after they’d worked together! He politely declined, but every time our (grown up) son sees her on TV, he shouts , ‘Mummy!’ 🙄😂.

Jifmicroliquid · 07/01/2024 18:48

Brian May is lovely. A really kind, gentle man.

PinkyBlueMe · 07/01/2024 18:52

Thought of another. DD met Stephen Mulhern and said he was really nice.

I recently met Clive Myrie. Just the loveliest man ever.

Now he is my secret crush - even went to watch him on his book tour. Pleased to hear he is lovely!

Chichimcgee · 07/01/2024 17:39

Bernard Cribbins was awful

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. I loved him as an actor.

Inkheart · 07/01/2024 19:03

I've met James Marsters (Spike from Buffy) and he was lovelyyy! I worked in a dry cleaners when I was younger so I met and served a lot of footballers who came in from Manchester.

Also Ryan & Adam Thomas (Corrie & Emmerdale)

Kerensa70 · 07/01/2024 19:18

In the 80’s I worked in a famous London dept store and would see a few, Shirley Bassey was v cool and Demi Moore memorably super pretty and polite. Princess Di would queue up with other Mums for the grotto, never saw her but that was what I was told by other staff.

I'm not a 'stan' of Johnny Depp or of any other celebrity. However, I can spot a narcissistic liar when I see one, and Amber Heard is one. Fake tears, ridiculous lies, and all.

Didn't follow the trial but I can tell you Johnny D and the Hughes Brothers (directors) had spectacular dedicaiton in 'auditioning' the young actresses playing Victorian prostitues in From Hell (Jack the Ripper Movie he starred in, bout 20 years ago).
