Claudia Winkleman is actually orange

Watching the new traitor series and her face and neck the most unatural orange colour. Everyone else is a nice normal colour even with lots of makeup on. Who on earth does her makeup?

Can't we just say 'really like' any more? Obsessions are serious things which disrupt normal thinking. Surely a bit strong regarding a shirt and jumper?!😄

DH has just told me I'm thinking of Sue Pollard not Eve Pollard, which is why I'm so surprised 🤣

I've said it before on here but my theory is that it's a very deliberate stage "look", so that when she's not working she can whip off the thick black long-fringed wig to reveal a pixie cut or similar, and wash off the tan to reveal her natural fair skin! Completely unrecognisable in public and when she's with her kids.

Very boring same look for decades.

We watched Graham Norton and I actually said to dh that for years I've thought I couldn't stand her yet whenever I see her interviewed or hear her radio show I always really enjoy it. She always makes me laugh. Yet I've stubbornly held on to my opinion and I don't know why. Anyway, from now on, I'm a fan. And I'm sorry Claudia! ( I don't watch strictly though)

This thread reminds me of my parents being quite snarky about CW and saying she was a phoney. DM said ‘ it’s all put on, she’s not posh’ and that CW’s mum was as working class as it gets so how did CW end up like that… I said I didn’t know precisely what Eve Pollard’s background was but she was obviously educated and intelligent and CW went to Oxford. There was a bit of scoffing and incredulity - we only got to the bottom of it when she informed me CW’s mum had been in Hi-de-Hi 🤣

I wasn't expecting so much adoration for her when I clicked on this thread! I might be the only person on MN that can't stand the woman.

Love Claudia. She's clever, funny, good at her job and doesn't conform to the normal 'rules' for women on TV.

I don't think the orange look is just something she does for TV, if you read her book.

Love Claudia - she comes across as warm and funny. Her styling on Traitors is amazing. Love her on Would I lie to you - she is one of my faves. She's also best mates with Victoria Coren Mitchell.

Thanks for The Pool link. I miss that daily email! Interesting to see that she is a fan of Head and Shoulders because that was a good few years before she started advertising it.

As for being orange. She's always been orange. I remember her back in the 90s on some street-dating show which she did before it was taken over by Davina McCall - if I'm remembering correctly - and she was as orange then as she is now. All that's changed is the added fringe and the darker hair. The woman found her look and she went " Yeah, that's it. I'm done." and I bloody love that!

I think some of the dislike for her is because she refuses to be what anyone thinks she should be. She's intelligent but doesn't feel the need to make that her be all and end all. She's attractive but in her own sweet way, she doesn't feel the need to lean into whatever the latest whatever is. She's funny, she's warm and she's so quick-witted. As a woman in the public eye, she's allowed to be some of those things at the same time but not all of them and the field where her fucks should grow is barren and she's all out of them. I honestly think she's a great role model. She never says "Be like me." She says "Be who you want to be, I'm a weirdo and look where it got me!"

I will never not adore, Claudia. And her radio show is great too!

I preferred her fringeless, there’s footage of her online in her early interviewer days and I think she looked so different- much softer. She’s always reminded me of a caricature of Dina McCall.

Pale skin my not suit her, having such jet black hair. She may think it looks too goth/emo, and makes her look washed out, so has a fake tan.
I can understand that.
