How many Greggs sausage rolls could you eat in one sitting?

Just that.

I reckon I could do 5 at a push. (Plus a bonus steak bake...)

Really fancied a sausage roll the other week (I was starving hungry!) and bought 2… wolfed the first one down but could barely manage 2 mouthfuls of the second.
Ended up feeling a bit🤢 even DP can only manage 2 - and he’s a greedy sod!

One would feed myself and my ds for a week.

@Discomboobulated

only one week, that's just greedy!!

JingleSnowmanTree · 04/01/2024 03:32

I'm vegetarian, have been for 33years, I don't remember/know if I had what the meat ones are like.

i was very excited at the proposal of vegetarian ones. Then they came out vegan (fine, I used to be vegan, but some current vegan processed food is vile

sadly, the vegan ones are vile.

Greggs has gone downhill. I'm SE & they've stopped doing most of their vegetarian options, what they do, do is never hot & they won't heat them up.

i have family in South Shields, I feel a visit coming on!

best guess, I'd enjoy one, I'd eat 2, in a competition I could probably do a ridiculous amount but not enjoy them.

when they had nice bakes, I could easily do 2, never tried but suspect 4 wouldn't have been a challenge.

I have one in walking distance, I think it's just as well it's a disappointment these days!!

MrsCatE · 04/01/2024 03:58

I've never had one but get the impression most are eating them cold? Surely the joy of a Sausage Roll would be sun temperature hot and greasy!

Here we go with a competitive under-eating thread. Just waiting for the first one to say 'Oh I couldn't POSSIBLY eat more than half of one before being absolutely stuffed' 😂😂😂

As opposed to competitive over eating?
Not sure bragging of gorging on 4-6 sausage rolls is healthy either.

HeraSyndulla · 04/01/2024 04:44

I could probably eat half of one.

LlynTegid · 04/01/2024 07:00

I'd struggle with one, or indeed any other make that is available.

MegaClutterSlut · 04/01/2024 07:46

2 at a push, not because I'd be full but I've always found any type of sausage quite sickly 😐 chicken bakes on the other hand about 4/5 I reckon

Can't say I've ever noticed a competitive over-eating thread on Mumsnet! And I was actually joking when I said I could eat 6 or more!

SinnerBoy · 04/01/2024 08:48

Yeah, yeah! We believe you!

We're moving (up north) this year. Is it bad that I'm looking forward to better access to Greggs?! Our nearest is half an hour away.
Would be great to be able to order takeaways for delivery too, only 2 places deliver where we currently are.

I reckon I could eat 6, but I'd stop enjoying them after 3.

@RagzRebooted

If you're moving north.... Skip Greggs.. find a Cooplands..

I lived near Hull but moved away. I miss Cooplands more than anything. 🤣

I have been tempted to travel by train for two hours just to go to Cooplands 😊

Blimey, I've not heard of them and see that there are quite a few local to me, including where I grew up!

KissTheRains · 04/01/2024 09:13

It's been a couple years since I had a Cooplands. I used to get the sausage rolls, cheese straws and a belgian shaped bun with chocolatey toffeey caramely type sauce poured on the top...
Heavenly.
I'd pick that over a night with Idris.. 🤪🤣

KissTheRains · 04/01/2024 09:21

SinnerBoy · 04/01/2024 09:15

Well it's a good job I'd rather a Cooplands then I guess.. shame.. that beard looks tickly in the right places. 🤪

SinnerBoy · 04/01/2024 09:21

😂

I reckon 20 if in a competition with a good cash prize and bragging rights. Without cash prize/ego motivation, I reckon I could get through 6 with a hangover before I decided enough is enough.

😂😂😂😂😂

OldTinHat · 04/01/2024 09:50

No Greggs in my county 😭 However, I reckon two from my local bakery, but only if I peeled the pastry off!

Sartre · 04/01/2024 09:57

I don’t eat meat so none but I could eat 2 vegan sausage rolls and definitely 2 slices of their pizza.

Oh god, Cooplands.

They do these cheese straws which are just greasy, salty cheesy puff pastry. They're dirty but they're delicious dirty. 45p each or £1.50 for a pack of six. I sometimes share a pack with the kids on our way home from the shops but I reckon I could eat a whole pack to myself.

Greggs are bringing back vegan steak bakes.

TokyoSushi · 04/01/2024 10:29

About 4 I reckon, 5 at a push!

KohlaParasaurus · 04/01/2024 10:33

2.5, freshly heated so that they're not flabby or lukewarm and accompanied by a can of fizzy pop. I have reason to know this. Part way through the third I couldn't face another bite of sausage roll but could probably have found my appetite again if I'd been offered a slice of pizza or a doughnut.

I have eaten six to myself several times and I feel fuck all guilt.
