Just that.

I reckon I could do 5 at a push. (Plus a bonus steak bake...)

Yes if he was awake, but I used to go to the park which was right next to a row of shops when I knew he was about to nod off and have a lovely peaceful walk in the park, eat sausage rolls and feed the ducks.Haha sounds a bit sad written down but I really loved it at the time.

Not sad at all! I think you'd be hard pressed to find a parent who didn't have a similar guilty pleasure.

NewYearNewPyjamas · 03/01/2024 22:16

Greggs feauture on the too good to go app where food about to go out of date is cheap so I regularly get quite a lot from them. This Monday I ate 3 sausage rolls and a chicken bake in one sitting. I wasn't even hungry. I reckon 8?!

Coffeespill · 03/01/2024 22:18
  1. It's very nice though

One. I might have said two but on the whole, I've noticed that they seem a little more salty these days. Or perhaps it's my taste buds since Covid, not sure.

I was going to say this, I don't know if they have changed (or I have...) but they seem much saltier than they used to be. I would happily have eaten at least two previously, but I had one recently and felt a bit sick after it. Bit disappointing really because I used to love them!

I live near a Greggs outlet shop. The 4 packs of sausage rolls are 1.50 and sometimes they are buy one pack get one free. I quite like them cold but If I want to warm one up I give it a quick blast in the air fryer.

What?! Where are they? How magnificent.

They have gone downhill over the last few years so I don't want to pay full price. When I have, the last few times I've been really disappointed but the too good to go mystery bag is mostly worth it.

I'm a greedy cow.

But they're a bit greasy for me. I'd be done after 2.

CandleInAJamJar · 03/01/2024 22:22

Definitely four washed down with a mug of coffee.
I keep a pack of Aldi ones in the freezer ( they're just like Greggs ones ) for the craving when Greggs are closed.

tiggergoesbounce · 03/01/2024 22:26

Whoa, steady on

There's a 24 hour Greggs???

🤣🤣🤣🤣This was exactly my thought.

I could probably do 3 at a push.
My DH reckons he could do about 6/7.

userxx · 03/01/2024 22:30

2 and a cheese and onion pasty. Does anyone remember the flat meat and potato pies from Greggs ? I miss those.

OnlyTheBravest · 03/01/2024 22:30

Just 1 for me with a caramel donut or a choccy star. However my sons a 4 pack each without hesitation. In fact, I bet they could make it to about 6 each. They are both bottomless pits.

Iam4eels · 03/01/2024 19:28

Might need to drive to the 24hr Greggs now and get myself a pack.

Of what witchcraft do you speak?!

3 I think, plus a cheese slice. And a corned beef slice.

enjoyingscience · 03/01/2024 22:33

1 vegan one dipped in the neon orange tomato soup, followed by a yum yum. Excellent stuff.

I reckon DS15 could do 6.

Falkenburg · 03/01/2024 22:40

I'm a vegetarian and when they started making vegan ones my daughter brought some home.

They were so dry it would take half an hour to eat one and I think I managed only half of one.

GeneCity · 03/01/2024 22:47

OK, this juxtaposition made me laugh:

How many Greggs sausage rolls could you eat in one sitting?
Grimchmas · 03/01/2024 23:00

I could probably do a 4 pack, followed by a sausage bean and cheese melt.

GeneCity · 03/01/2024 23:08

I haven't watched DA, but I think I'd manage 3 sausage rolls, as long as I had a hot cup of tea.

Luxell934 · 03/01/2024 23:21

I do love a Greggs sausage roll. I wouldn’t let myself buy more than one because I could easily eat at-least 3 I think. I prefer a corn beef pasty though.

SinnerBoy · 03/01/2024 23:32

I haven't eaten them for years, since I did some temping in a factory and two of the blokes say that they were trying to get back to the better paid work at Gregg's.

They said not to eat the sausage rolls, as they'd gone from using 7 bags of grey goo to two bags of chicken fat to 5 bags of grey goo to 4 bags of chicken fat.

Apparently, everyone taking them out of the ovens was getting spattered with spitting, hot fat and they had to change their procedures, to deal with it.

I get their stotties now and again. They're definitely much worse than they used to be, I loved their cheese and onion pasties, when I was young; 12 p in the Grainger Market!

Notthatcatagain · 04/01/2024 00:59

As long as the grandchildren didn’t know we had them, I reckon DH and I could eat an 8 pack, obviously if the DGC were around then we'd be lucky to have one to share between us. Not exactly on plan though so may have to lie a little

ALongHardWinter · 04/01/2024 01:24

Here we go with a competitive under-eating thread. Just waiting for the first one to say 'Oh I couldn't POSSIBLY eat more than half of one before being absolutely stuffed' 😂😂😂

ALongHardWinter · 04/01/2024 01:24

I could probably eat 6 by the way at least

Kerantli · 04/01/2024 01:37

1
As long as I had a cheese and ham baguette warmed up for afters.

RagzRebooted · 04/01/2024 01:43

Iam4eels · 03/01/2024 19:28

Might need to drive to the 24hr Greggs now and get myself a pack.

We're moving (up north) this year. Is it bad that I'm looking forward to better access to Greggs?! Our nearest is half an hour away.
Would be great to be able to order takeaways for delivery too, only 2 places deliver where we currently are.

I reckon I could eat 6, but I'd stop enjoying them after 3.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 04/01/2024 02:25

In my first job as a newly qualified Solicitor, the law office I worked in was above a Greggs. T’was very hard to resist the smell wafting up from below.

Probably 2, with an iced bun for afters.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 04/01/2024 02:30

A quick Google confirms that the law firm has relocated/merged but the Greggs' is still there, close to 25 years later!
