How many Greggs sausage rolls could you eat in one sitting?

Just that.

I reckon I could do 5 at a push. (Plus a bonus steak bake...)

I’ve never eaten anything from Gregg - what’s the deal with them? How come so loved?

QueSyrahSyrah · 03/01/2024 20:32
  1. I'd rather stop at 2 and want more, than have more and feel sick.

I’d be bored after 3 and regretful after 4, but reckon I’d manage 5 in an emergency. With a chocolate eclair for afters.

"In an emergency" made me chuckle. Trying to envision the types of emergencies which require sausage roll eating. Grin

rainbowsparkle28 · 03/01/2024 20:32

None (probably a grimly high number if I wasn't coeliac though 🤗😆....)

Imamumgetmeoutofhere · 03/01/2024 20:33

4 probably, followed by a chocolate covered biscuit (star, Christmas tree, bat depending on season)

TomatoSandwiches · 03/01/2024 20:33

1.5 but I also open up the Pastry and cut half the sausage out ( length ways ) because that's my prefered meat to the pastry ratio sensory wise.

Needmorelego · 03/01/2024 20:38

I get 2 usually but only 1 if I am following up with a pink jammie donut.
Yesterday I had one slice of the pepperoni pizza and one sausage roll. That felt just a tiny bit too much....but then again I did have a bag of crisps too.
For my birthday last year I really fancied a takeaway pizza (dominos or something) but as I'm the only one in the family who likes pizza it seemed far to expensive.
So I had 2 Greggs Pizza slices and -ehem - 2 donuts (it was my birthday after all 😂).
I really did feel a bit queasy after that.

Mademetoxic · 03/01/2024 21:03

Greggs is so overrated imo.
The smell is revolting.

Underwatersally · 03/01/2024 21:11

A third of one would keep my family of 4 fed for two weeks.

Nah, I recon I could have between 3 and 4. I could have two and that would be a nice lunch, but I’m not sure if it would be number 3 or 4 that would make me feel sick. They’d have to be hot though.
And then a custard doughnut obviously

CharlottePimpernel · 03/01/2024 21:16

I've done 4. I don't think I could do more than that.

ItAintGonnaGoDownEasyIfItAintCheezy · 03/01/2024 21:41

My secondary school used to give 2 sausage rolls with chips and beans as a portion.

slavetothekittens · 03/01/2024 21:47

3 or maybe 4 of the vegan ones.

DyslexicPoster · 03/01/2024 21:48

I've never had more than 1 at a time. I reckon I could six if was starving hungry. But I'd feel sick after, too greasy. My 20 year old I reckon could eat more than 10 easily. He came home drunk and ate two entire good to go bags.

MPF080619 · 03/01/2024 21:48

I'm currently reading this out to my 17 year old son. He tells me he had six at once, then felt sick, but as it was a competition with friends he "smashed two together and ate them quickly" so his answer is "8".

XenoBitch · 03/01/2024 21:49

I had a pack of 4 in a Too Good to Go bag. My mum said they freeze well. I had to hide the fact that they did not even make it back to my house.

Cwtshcwtsh · 03/01/2024 21:51

Too many.

1982mommaof4 · 03/01/2024 21:52

None they are vile

x2boys · 03/01/2024 21:54

The big ones ?
Im a large lady much bigger than most mumsnetters and I buy them all the time from Iceland I can manage two.at the most

mapleriver · 03/01/2024 22:03

my max is 6

idontlikealdi · 03/01/2024 22:07

None. Acid reflux has well and truly got me. I look on longingly. Could have done 4 before.

YoongiMarryMe · 03/01/2024 22:08

But if it was just the pastry then it's be 47.

SemperIdem · 03/01/2024 22:11

You and I are the same!

loudbatperson · 03/01/2024 22:12

1 I think, the saltiness of the meat tends to start irritating my tongue near the end of one.

Although I could happily peel and eat the pastry from another 2 or 3 if I could ditch the sausage bit.

RocksOn · 03/01/2024 22:13

I’ve never eaten anything from Greggs, but I used to have a colleague that would come into the office with a sausage roll from there. The smell and the fact the bag went transparent with grease always made me feel a bit nauseous.

So none.

GHSP · 03/01/2024 22:14

Maybe one and a half? They’re so salty and greasy I’d struggle to get to 2.
