All I had was a little action figure that I found months later buried in the garden.

I listen to a podcast and someone on there find two names written on the attic that had their birth and death dates - death dates being the same.

The airing cupboard door marking the heights of three children. One stopped. The house was a probate sale. There were two heirs.

A history of the village.
Carefully labelled extra tiles, bricks, etc., where work had been done.
A catalogue of invoices and guarantees for works done.
A safe behind the one picture left behind.

I've moved many times: Victorian jug and bowl, necklace behind a radiator, family portrait, a high quality print.

SgtJuneAckland · 01/01/2024 21:56

A load of massive faux mahogany bedroom furniture, the original 1912 doors under some awful 70s laminate, and the ashes of the previous owner's wife buried in the garden. I found the urn, ndn told me that tree had been planted when the wife died in her memory, we were just returfing a patch it wasn't buried very deep. I did try to contact him via the estate agent but to no avail so I just reburied them!

Just remembered my friend found a folder full of news clippings for the previous owners daughter who’d been murdered by her husband 😔

A bath full of turds and a sleeping Jamaican man.

AppropriateAdult · 01/01/2024 22:01

Unopened packet of tights, some incontinence pads and a stack of celebrity memoirs.

familyissues12345 · 01/01/2024 22:02

Recent move - nothing

Last house - some thrush pessaries Envy

Mumaway · 01/01/2024 22:04

A stash of cash under the carpet! Definitely not enough to pay down the mortgage, but enough to have a celebratory bottle of something for the new house

RandomQuestionOfTheDay · 01/01/2024 22:08

A gun box (no gun of course). Police tape. Sadly the two were related.

GreySantaRabbit · 01/01/2024 22:08

Bottle of champagne, punch bowl, shoes, mugs, whole recycling bin full of dog food (we rehomed that to the dog rescue)

oneflewoverthe · 01/01/2024 22:08

A vase full of dog poo in the back garden!

csam · 01/01/2024 22:12

We have a full sized gravestone for Brolly the deerhound, captured from the Boas.

Ummmm..... what?? 😳

Yozzer87 · 01/01/2024 22:20

Christmas tree and decorations in the loft and rolls of old wrapping paper.

RainSteppes · 01/01/2024 22:20

A load of newspapers from between 1960 - 1963. I'm enjoying reading them.

LordBummenbachsMagnificentBalls · 01/01/2024 22:22

Some lovely farrow and ball paint in the attic that I’ve since used in my bedroom, and an electric drill 👌🏻 all very handy

paulhollywoodshairgel · 01/01/2024 22:22

Stash of porn hidden behind a water tank in the bathroom. Wedding photos in the attic.

Colinswheels · 01/01/2024 22:22

An absolutely massive ancient tv in the loft.

barkymcbark · 01/01/2024 22:25

A shot gun. We rang the previous owner who sheepishly came back and picked it up.

CeriB82 · 01/01/2024 22:27

We found shoes in the fireplace when we knocked it down. Back in the day it signified a child’s death and their shes were left to keep their spirit there.

we do know a child died here.

CarolDunne · 01/01/2024 22:27

3 sheds.full of shite
Attic full of shite
Dog kennel and bowls
4 layers of carpets
2 layers of tiles

Basically 16 large skips of shite

Ragwort · 01/01/2024 22:30

Nothing of interest ... a friend found a substantial sum of cash hidden under the floor boards when he moved into his new home ... he was honest enough to return it to the previous occupiers ...

Mossstitch · 01/01/2024 22:36

An old very solid wardrobe that wouldn't fit down the stairs, my son had to take an axe to it (only tool we had)..........but how did they get it up there🤔

Uglyboots · 01/01/2024 22:38

A wall mounted tv but no remote. (He asked me to buy the TV but I declined as I already own two TVs. Spiteful brat took the remote to make sure I didn’t benefit from his laziness)

Nomorecoconutboosts · 01/01/2024 22:43

A large assortment of items.
we had to hire a skip
Memorable items:
kitchen cupboards full of cheap half used items such as greasy bottle of vinegar, various crusty packets.
3 apparently brand new unused toilets. (The sink and toilet in main bathroom had been ripped out leaving just a bath)
a DVD with a title of ‘anal bum fun’ or similar wording - I got rid
loads of paperwork showing that they had remortgaged to a frankly frightening level…
