I was entertained by the fact that of the four things they could find to talk about that happened in 2023, one was the coronation (fair enough) and the other three were anniversaries of things that happened between 10 and 75 years ago... Then they seemed to completely run out of ideas and just played a very random selection of music and sounds.

The fireworks and drones were good though!

I missed some of it as others were speaking over it - what did they say that was wrong?

Parts were read from a Benjamin Zephaniah poem about London, so were very apt.

They said they were listing events that happened in London this year, but missed out the expansion of ULEZ 😢

The bit by the king sounded like an impressionist. I had a vision of a Spitting Image King Charles puppet

Every year it’s ruined by dreadful music and the voiceover. I knew it would be a load of wank when it started by showing the big display that said ‘presented by the mayor of London.’ What the fuck did Sadiq Khan have to do with it? Perhaps he ran around with a box of matches lighting all the fireworks.

Spectacular fireworks - love London and they really saw in 2024 but music was like one of those dreadful cheesy medleys! Why not let the fireworks speak for themselves.

We were annoyed we didnt go into London and watch, so saw it on the telly but I noticed that the actual fireworks only lasted for 11 mins as far as I could make out

I couldnt hear the voice over detail so it was lost on me.

My house full shouted "fuck pff sadiq" almost in unison, was a thing of beauty

At least the crowd looked like they were enjoying themselves.......

Usually the fireworks have events from the year. Where was the Eurovision hosting? Women’s Euros?
It was mostly songs that weren’t even from this year.

The first voice I heard said 'city' but didn't actually pronounce the 't'.

I think that is embarrassing.

Fireworks themselves were good.

No voiceover on the Scottish ones. Pop instrumental covers.

People have accents and some people don't pronounce t in the way you do.

Snobbery is more embarrassing than an accent.

Fireworks were awesome - but really wish I'd watched them on mute and listened to my own music! (And closed my eyes at that fucking "London Mayor Presents.." message - did he pay for them?! Surely these are supposed to be the UK's NYE celebration, or at least England's, rather than just London's. And very definitely not just that odious little mayor's! )

God I just heard Prince Charles droning on and immediately turned over. Fuck off royal twats!
