Fajitas with "all the trimmings" and a bottle of Champagne

Poached eggs on toast at 5.30pm.in bed for 7pm with a bedspread picnic of crisps, shortbread and jelly babies with a side order of paracetamol and orange squash. Might go really bonkers with round 2, more paracetamol and some cough mixture, maybe a handful of Quality Street. Can anyone guess? We have come down with Covid today. Happy new year to us

I thought I had posted this for a minute. I was a little confused. Poached egg on a bagel, paracetamol and Covid here also.

We always have an Indian snack selection party food buffet...not sure why but we do and I love it!

Just had a chilli with Prosecco. Been walking miles around London today and the sofa never felt so good. Happy new year!

Christmas leftovers ( from Thursday when we had Christmas dinner) in a spicy tomato sauce with pasta and a decent red

LadyDaisy42 · 31/12/2023 20:48

I made chicken fajitas

DelilahBucket · 31/12/2023 20:48

Lamb kleftico. There's a chocolate gateaux in the fridge yet to make an appearance.

nodogz · 31/12/2023 20:56

To start: Margaritas and crisps.

Mains: A meze: lamb kebab, chicken kebab, feta and spinach pie, halloumi, tazitzi, red pepper houmous, pita, olives and Greek salad. All homemade.

Pudding: tiramisu.

Tomorrow, it's a nice cold sauce pasta with even more garlic!

Growlybear83 · 31/12/2023 20:56

We've just had steak and chips for dinner.

ginslinger · 31/12/2023 20:57

For supper we had beef in red wine, red cabbage and mashed potatoes.

It's so interesting the different terms we have for an evening meal in such a small group of countries.

cerisepanther73 · 31/12/2023 21:03

confusedbythesystem · 31/12/2023 21:05

Pringles, just pringles -purloined from an absent teen's stocking. Tnat's supper I guess - nibbly things, cheese on toast, piece of cake, bowl of cereal - fillers after dinner and before bed. I skipped dinner tonight as on my own, but was to be pie, green beans, mash.

Mid-day food is lunch and (high) tea is what you have when get in from school - "Hello Mum, what's for tea!" shouted as you walk through the door - or it doesn't count. Sadly, it's been decades.

🎉Happy New Year to everyone!!! 🎉

Butteredtoast55 · 31/12/2023 21:22

We are hoovering up all the bits and pieces left from Christmas. I've been doing a fair bit of cooking today ready for a big lunch tomorrow so don't fancy much.

Musicalmistress · 31/12/2023 21:41

Slow cooker chicken bhuna with homemade naan & rice. May have a few poppadoms to use up the last of the spicy onions from Friday 😁

UsernameTaken76 · 31/12/2023 22:01

Used our new air fryer to make chicken schnitzel with a sprout slaw to use the last ones bought for Xmas dinner up. Also made a bowl of parsnip chips to snack on trying to get a head start on eating healthier.

@WhatsInStoreFor2024 - what is wrong with supper?

OP posts:
festivefoodlover2023 · 01/01/2024 06:20

@Vinrouge4 and @MaggieFS - thank you! We have breakfast / lunch / supper in our house. Elevenses (coffee and biscuit/cake) if someone comes mid-morning and tea (tea and a biscuit/cake) if someone comes mid-afternoon or we have been for a long walk/out in the garden. I am intelligent enough to understand context if people use 'tea' to describe their evening meal rather than a 'cup of tea and an afternoon snack'.
