We've not been out since Boxing day - is anyone more lazy than we are?

3 DC went for a long bike ride on Tuesday but since then they've all been indoors. They have lots of new toys/ board games but have watched a fair bit of TV too. They've all had baths and are in clean clothes each day (albeit they are in lounge about clothes instead of being proper dressed)

Can anyone beat our laziness?

Just to add that the weather has been a huge factor in staying in and I have been working this week (Weds-Fri). DP is renovating our wooden stairs / in charge of childcare.

We were out all day on Saturday, all day Monday and have plans tomorrow and Sunday

One comes to mind and he has blonde hair and an unknown number of children.

Your resistance to the alleged massive discounts in sales at this time of year is admirable.

I ventured out to deliver some presents leftover from Christmas, light some candles and pray in church and to top up food for the weekend in Sainsbury's yesterday. Apart from that I haven't left home since Christmas Day. It's been bliss to be honest.

We are very similar. DH went back to work yesterday but the kids and I haven't left the house since we went to my in laws on Christmas Day.

The weather has been a big factor in this plus my eldest DD has been unwell and is only just starting to feel better. I am currently trying to galvanise myself to take them to the park as it's a decent day but I have thoroughly enjoyed the laziness.

There's a lot to be said for lazy days. We all need down time :)

BluePinkPurple · 29/12/2023 11:32

Nah, that’s not lazy! Quite normal I would’ve thought.

I’ve actually only left my house twice in the past month. I don’t see that as lazy, just had no real need or desire to go anywhere.

Humblechicken · 29/12/2023 11:32

Since we travelled to see family on the 23rd we have spent time in two houses only with different people coming to see us.

TheDandyLion · 29/12/2023 11:36

22nd was the last time I left the house when we did a food shop. I've been pottering in the garden during that time so I have been doing some moveing and getting fresh air.

Purplecatshopaholic · 29/12/2023 11:39

It’s the time of year for it - I salute your laziness! We haven’t done anything either. Walked dogs obvs, and nipped to the local shop when we ran out of butter, but that’s about it! Love a lazy time when the weathers shit.

chipsandpeas · 29/12/2023 11:41

ive not been out the house or properly dressed since Christmas day

decemberwasshit · 29/12/2023 11:44

I haven't got dressed done my hair or make up since Christmas day. But I am ill so I have an excuse 😆

TeacherPlease · 29/12/2023 11:44

During COVID I didn’t leave the house from when lockdown was announced (25 March?) until 31 May.

I’m young(ish) healthy and well. No fear of being infected. Just lazy 😂

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 29/12/2023 11:45

Lazy days are hell for me- young kids climbing the wall in a small house, I can’t!

Yep

This is us.

We are out later for the first time in a week, out for the day tomorrow then hibernation mode again until Jan 4th.

Essential. Life is so busy and full on- lying around, snoozing, eating, watching crap tv...

Splety · 29/12/2023 12:00

After 5 days of housing and entertaining relatives, the day they left I dribbled in a corner with a book for the whole day.

The next day I pulled myself together and went into London with a friend for an event and felt alive again. Both dribbling in the corner and the total chaos of London were good!

StillWantingADog · 29/12/2023 12:02

Weather has been shocking which js our excuse. In the last week my kids had fresh air on Sunday, Tuesday and this morning but have been lazing about all of the rest of the time

Terningbay · 29/12/2023 12:43

Lovely day here today so I’ve just forced us out for a walk!

margotrose · 29/12/2023 12:50

We've been very lazy too. Out for dog walks but otherwise we've been chilling out at home with food and the TV.

The weather has been horrible which doesn't help!

Giraff3 · 29/12/2023 12:55

Only been out once (top up shop) since xmas day. Will now nip out later to pick my sale click n collect up

YouNeverCanTellWithBees · 29/12/2023 13:03

We've had in laws staying so I'm the only one who's left the house since boxing day and that was a walk to the chemist just to get out. In laws are always happy to just sit around all day whereas I get very restless.

Crunchymum · 29/12/2023 13:44

Glad to hear it's not just us.

Kid aren't going too stir crazy yet but we'll definitely need to get out tomorrow (we are visiting friends but they live near a large park so we plan to spend time there before and after lunch)

I am a big fan of a lazy day. My DC (all primary age) are out the house 8.30am - 6pm x4 days a week plus have swimming early every Saturday so in the winter we tend to have a PJ day every other weekend, calendar depending. But it's very rare for us to have several days in.

I guess I am lucky that we are all homebodies and love to potter around at home.

Will soon be back to our hectic, busy lives.

FestiveFruitloop · 29/12/2023 13:46

I've not left the house since Christmas Eve, but that's mainly because I've got Covid atm. Haven't even felt like going for walks as the weather's been so disgusting.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 29/12/2023 14:04

We have a dog so he doesn’t give us a choice but I get cabin fever if I stay in for more than a day so we’ve been out and about.

Theoldwoman · 29/12/2023 14:14

Why do they need to be properly dressed, whatever that means!,
Home comfy clothes are totally fine!
We have lots of home days, do what’s right for you!
