We've not been out since Boxing day - is anyone more lazy than we are?

3 DC went for a long bike ride on Tuesday but since then they've all been indoors. They have lots of new toys/ board games but have watched a fair bit of TV too. They've all had baths and are in clean clothes each day (albeit they are in lounge about clothes instead of being proper dressed)

Can anyone beat our laziness?

So you've had two days in and are working anyway?

Yes, I'd imagine a lot of people are more lazy than that.

coffeerevelsrule · 29/12/2023 14:43

Sorry, 3 days in, but overall my point stands.

Beezknees · 29/12/2023 14:54

I left the flat yesterday to get some bits from Asda. DS (15yo) hasn't left since Boxing day. I have been WFH since Wednesday.

We have dogs and so get out every day. Would go bonkers without at least one walk a day - dogs and us!

That's good to hear, makes me feel a bit less guilty about my slovenly children and their lack of fresh air and exercise.

I didn't even do that with a broken ankle 😳. I was out at least every other day for a slow hop up the street so I didn't get cabin fever.

Crunchymum · 29/12/2023 14:59

Sorry to everyone who is poorly, hope you feel better soon.

DP and I have been in since Christmas night. Watching alot of tv and movies, snacking, drinking big weather warnings here so enjoying being home with my DP. I don't feel slightly bad I'm an introvert so it's my idea of bliss.

girlmeetsboy · 29/12/2023 15:01

Until today and popping to Tesco Express once, Ive been in for a week! I love it!

coffeerevelsrule · 29/12/2023 15:02

Totally get the guilt about children and fresh air etc, but come on - you're not lazy if you're working!

OldTinHat · 29/12/2023 15:13

I've not been out since the 18th. I've only seen delivery people since as well!

dontgobaconmyheart · 29/12/2023 15:16

Not everyone routinely goes out, chronically unwell, not able to for mental health reasons and disability etc, it doesn't equate to laziness or require justification.

Presumably you'd have left the house if you'd wanted to, if those things don't apply. I'd just relax and enjoy it.

Quornflakegirl · 29/12/2023 15:20

Myself and dc (both 11) haven’t left the house since Christmas Eve evening. Dh went back to work on the 27th but the 3 of us have been sleeping late, watching movies, playing games and napping for 5 days, it’s been amazing and we all really needed it. The other bonus to all of it is that I’ve have spent £0 in almost a week. We plan to do the same again today but will need to venture out for groceries tomorrow.

Aposterhasnoname · 29/12/2023 15:25

I’ve not set foot out of the house since Christmas Day. In fact I’ve barely moved off the sofa. It’s been bliss, but we’re off to the pub in half an hour when DH finishes work.

RockandRollers · 29/12/2023 15:26

I cannot stay in. It feels such a waste of a day, l love getting out and walking, but l know we are all different.
My sons are young adults now but l found it easier taking them outdoors when they were younger and it got them into healthy habits regarding exercise, because so hard sometimes when they get older and just want to sit on screens all day. They are both good runners and lift weights.

soggybottomedfruitcake · 29/12/2023 15:31

wow

Favouritefruits · 29/12/2023 15:43

I take the children out daily for a run around but to be honest they’d rather I didn’t and we all just feel knackerd I do it out of guilt! I really need to see my parents but I’m so tired!

Nah, that’s not lazy! Quite normal I would’ve thought.

I’ve actually only left my house twice in the past month. I don’t see that as lazy, just had no real need or desire to go anywhere.

That can't be true! I would go insane. I'm ill today and going stir crazy as I've only made it around the block.

See that makes me feel on edge 😂 I didn’t leave the house yesterday because the weather was horrific all day, and as a result I’ve been climbing the walls today. The last time I stayed in the house for longer than a day was after I gave birth.

I lift weights and do spin. Inside my own home Grin
I shielded for 18 months the but I like my home so it doesn't really bother me. Went out to the click and collect on the 22nd dec but been home working since then

EffortlessDelegation · 29/12/2023 15:52

I can't imagine doing it myself, I never spend a whole day in the house unless I'm ill but I don't think it hurts occasionally, in fact I wish I didn't climb the walls and feel the need to go out all the time.

MammaTo · 29/12/2023 16:02

Went out today for the first time since Christmas Day. Baby needed a bit of chill time after a hectic week before Xmas day and the weathers been shocking so we’ve just chilled.

Homewoes22 · 29/12/2023 16:08

DH back to work and DC out with friends somehow by magic I am the only one with Norovirus, I will not be out until new year at this rate

Sladuf · 29/12/2023 16:08

the “lull” between Christmas and New Year as I affectionately call it is meant for R&R. Do what makes you feel rested I say!
