Just being nosey.

We live pretty much equidistant between two.
Today, we went into Cambridge.

Which is the closest city to you?

Em’bra. Although technically I now live closer to one of the new cities but although I’m proud it’s finally been recognised, I still don’t think of it as a city 😂

Dunfermline? I don't think of it as a city either.

idontlikealdi · 27/12/2023 19:01

London

Beezknees · 27/12/2023 19:01

I didn't realise half of these were cities! I need to brush up on my geography.

Oh! I take it back then!… Sorry 🙈

Justonedayatatime11 · 27/12/2023 19:01

Norwich

Brexile · 27/12/2023 19:01

Dijon.

Although I'm not sure exactly what constitutes a city over here!

jamrolypolyandcustard · 27/12/2023 19:02

Newcastle.

Wishing I lived in the Lake District 😂

chewsandwhine · 27/12/2023 19:02

Timbuctoo

Toddlerteaplease · 27/12/2023 19:02

Nottingham, unfortunately.

Beezknees · 27/12/2023 19:00

Is that a city?

Not technically - but it has a cathedral

weebarra · 27/12/2023 19:03

Edinburgh. Work there but live out in the sticks now. I like being able to go in, but then leave again, especially at this time of year 🎆

Didn’t know this either! Then my answer changes, it’s closer by 2 miles.

Unlikeky to be welcome there mind, COYB!

MrsMoastyToasty · 27/12/2023 19:04

I'm midway between Bristol and Bath. I tend to favour Bristol as I grew up there and still have family there, but I have worked in Bath too.
Bath feels like a large town though. Its only got a population a fifth the size of Bristol and geographically hasn't sprawled so much.

Hotpinkangel19 · 27/12/2023 19:04

Hull

EspressoMacchiato · 27/12/2023 19:04

Geneva

Toddlerteaplease · 27/12/2023 19:05

@jamrolypolyandcustard my parents have just followed my sister to Penrith. Lonely town. Close to the lakes but without the prices!

Bernadinetta · 27/12/2023 19:05

Durham

Georgyporky · 27/12/2023 19:05

London - my home town. But there are other dumps nearer to me.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 27/12/2023 19:06

Colchester or Chelmsford

tinytemper66 · 27/12/2023 19:06

Swansea.

mylittkeitalianhome · 27/12/2023 19:07

Milan

MargaritaThyme · 27/12/2023 19:07

Leicester, although like many other people who live in villages in the county, I rarely go into the city centre these days. It has declined horrendously over the last 20 years and it now feels like a third world city in places.

flowerpotmike · 27/12/2023 18:52

Gloucester but usually go to Bristol for my city fix.

Yes in theory mine is Gloucester as well, but in reality we go to either Bristol or Birmingham.

Wrexham isn’t a city

Edited

Wrexham definitely is a city.

I live in between Nottingham and Derby, pretty equal distance between the two. Derby is an absolute shit hole, Nottingham is not bad.

Me too wondering if it's the same place
Prefer the shopping in derby, it's a much easier drive in than Nottingham
