What are you doing right now?

Ive just put on the roasties and hoping they turn out great, fingers crossed...need to put in the other stuff soon, at the stage starting to get hungry and just hoping it all comes together OK

Personally I'd be happy to read my book in bed and eat toast....but needs must.

DP has just wakened up for a nano second to thank me for a lovely Christmas dinner, so that was nice.
Have moved our unwrapped presents into the hall, having learnt that putting them on the bed to be put away later in the day never happens, which results in having to move them at bedtime. I'll do it tomorrow.
Trying to ignore the trifle that needs liberating from the fridge, I'm still stuffed, but greedy.

We had dinner about two hours ago. DD 3.5 is playing with her Sylvanian Families. DH did all the cooking and is having a half dose on the sofa. I’m watching Hook after just polishing off some Black Forest gateux

Just had a leftovers sandwich. DS is watching a movie and having a second plate of dinner. DH is upstairs asleep I think - hasn’t been seen for just over two hours!

Cup of tea on the sofa with the tin of Quality Street. We had lunch around 2ish, was good except the sprouts were weirdly strong and peppery this year! DH and DF are watching some war film, DS is snoozing on the sofa, I'm waiting for the Ghosts special. Might make a sandwich in a bit.

Had some lovely gifts including a vintage ring with a frankly enormous diamond, that used to belong to my grandmother (present from my dad). Keep staring at it, and feel like Liz Taylor 😂It's been a lovely, low-key day.

We're sprawled on the sofas drinking mulled wine and just about to start on the cheese. Had such a lovely day, and feeling so touched by the huge smile on DD'S face.

Still cooking here! We had a late breakfast and haven't been hungry at all - there's only DH and me, and it's wonderfully relaxed. Beef Wellington in the oven, spuds and parsnips roasting in goose fat, red wine sauce simmering, carrots, broccoli and sprouts prepped - and a turkey breast wrapped in bacon cooked earlier for tomorrow :)

I'm having a rather nice glass of red wine in the kitchen, DH is watching something on't telly.

That happened to me one year.

It turned out that I’d undercooked the sprouts. Try getting on all fours and rocking.

Running a bath for my crazy DCs to hopefully wind them down a little. Guests have all gone (been here since 11am) the House is a tip and I'm so full / lazy. Can't complain though, It's been a lovely day!

We had our big meal at around 2pm so have been in a food stupor since then and keep gravitating towards my bed but flipping relations keep needing stuff / texting / FaceTimeing / wanting to play games or watch films. I just want to sleeeeeeep!!

Just home with my DH and 5DC from my PIL, the little ones are exhausted and I'm doing bedtime with them while the big ones play with their gifts with DH. It's been a weird build up to Christmas this year, and I'm glad it's over, but I am feeling content and grateful this evening.
