Ive just put on the roasties and hoping they turn out great, fingers crossed...need to put in the other stuff soon, at the stage starting to get hungry and just hoping it all comes together OK

Personally I'd be happy to read my book in bed and eat toast....but needs must.

Chilling while watching Strictly. Just finished the (very delicious) prosecco and debating starting on the Baileys. Have brought up the cheese board and crisps and considering starting on the Christmas cake too. Still a bit full from the lovely roast duck lunch but planning on finishing strong and wearing stretchy pants for a few days 😂

TheSkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 25/12/2023 17:18

We're at SlL's. I've just come up for a lie down in the spare room as I'm ill and exhausted. DD is playing her new violin, DS and SIL are playing darts, DH and BIL are watching whatever Christmas film is on.

Appleass · 25/12/2023 17:19

Watching the new Indiana Jones, trying to stay awake and eating one chocolate as the space for one becomes available in my tum.

Sgtmajormummy · 25/12/2023 17:21

Waiting for the dishwasher to finish so I can send off the last evidence of XMas lunch.
Everybody enjoyed it, including the ham hock I bought because I thought my 2.5 kg turkey wasn’t going to be enough. We only had room for mince pies as dessert but with home-made vanilla custard (happy last minute addition). All the more for the next few days! The meal came together without any hitches and I had help laying and clearing.

DS is setting up DD’s “new” phone with lots of screeches as he threatens to look at her photos.
DH and dog went for a lurch round the park for some fresh air. They both needed it!
Going to watch Saltburn on Amazon tonight. We had Arthur Christmas as usual last night.

Nochoiceleft · 25/12/2023 17:22

Am scoffing all the left over roasties.

Cincinnatus · 25/12/2023 17:24

Hope dinner turns out ok for you OP. Always a mad rush at the end isn’t it!

We have eaten. Children in their rooms with their new things.

Just made myself my husband a cup of tea. We are very full. I’m going to drink this and have a bath.

NCgoingdry · 25/12/2023 17:26

Sitting in the en suite avoiding my MIL who is absolutely aghast that she isn't hosting.

Nothing I do is good enough.

She's tried to upstage me with gifts tor the kids and she's undermined every single thing I've cooked and served.

I've brought my wine glass to the loo and having a well deserved breather so I don't ruin Christmas for everyone by telling her what a cunt I think she is and the fact she's been a cunt for the last ten years.

(Thank you for allowing the therapeutic rant).

Kaleidoscopeofbutterflies · 25/12/2023 17:27

In bed with my cat .watching Strictly ...and eating chocs..( got awful TMJ so got microwave heat pack on ear and jaw... I'm waiting for the Christmas soaps.
Been at my youngest daughters and Grandsons.. just got home.
Had a fabulous Christmas Dinner.. a lovely quiet day.. with wonderful presents.. ( Grandson is nine with ASD.. so change can get to him).

mrssanchez · 25/12/2023 17:30

Hiding in my bedroom in the dark to get away from my family. DH won't stop "trying to help" DS and DS won't stop yelling at him. It's fucking awful. I'm cancelling Christmas next year. Sad

AlisonDonut · 25/12/2023 17:34

On the sofa, feet up under a blanket, in front of a roaring wood burner, with the cat Nd watching French quiz shows. Wondering what to have for tea.

HollyJollyJingleBells · 25/12/2023 17:38

Toddler has crashed from all the excitement and is having a contact danger nap on me. I am soaking in every second as she hasn't done this in at least a year 😍DH is making dinner

shellyleppard · 25/12/2023 17:40

Just having a much needed cuppa..... started cooking at 8.30 am , dished up at 1.30 pm ...... proud of myself this year

PermanentTemporary · 25/12/2023 17:42

On MN and one eye on Maestro on Netflix. We've done all the family visits and calls today and did the big meal yesterday so am feeling very chilled. All of us visiting the kitchen for leftovers as we feel like. Incredibly I've had a late present from dp's parents which is the best thing I've been given. I don't care about presents that don't quite hit the spot but it's still nice to get one that does.

CeriB82 · 25/12/2023 17:44

Watching Gavin and Stacey reruns!

in a food coma. Im not a big eater but today …. I feel sick. Seriously bloated.

cant eat another thing

iWontWarmToThat · 25/12/2023 17:46

Spent the day doing Christmas stuff - presents, dinner etc with DD(4), I've not long dropped her at her dads for her second Christmas so I've opened up a bottle of Prosecco, dropped in a shot of chambord and I'm climbing into my 40° hot tub in the garden 🥰

NeverDropYourMooncup · 25/12/2023 17:46

Listening to DP in the kitchen.

Came downstairs this morning to be greeted by a giant breakfast instead of the light one I had planned and agreed with him. No point kicking up a fuss, so ate the minimum I could get away with and haven't been hungry since. He's been snacking on chocolate and shit all day when not sleeping on the sofa.

I'm hoping that he doesn't overcook the beef, as even if something comes out rare in the first place, he generally seems to reheat meals in the microwave about three times before serving because he's not very good at timing. I would do it myself, but a) he's convinced that he's the cook in the house and b) after my clearing the countertops twice, he's already covered them with more stuff and I'm not cooking around clutter.

Life is far more agreeable if I resign myself to not as good cooking on a schedule that fits somebody else and in a kitchen that looks like a disaster zone rather than me cooking it perfectly in a neat and tidy kitchen for 2pm - then hide in the living room with a drink, cat and watching King Kong on iPlayer.

PMTsickandtiredofyourshit · 25/12/2023 17:47

I’m sat in a clean, tidy living room all declittered, listening to And That’s When People Started to Worry by Nancy Tucker a new Audible book.
Strictly is on silent and DD (7) is asleep after throwing up twice out of the blue this afternoon and having a bath, so DH is scrolling whilst keeping an eye on her in her bed. It’s actually been lovely de-cluttering the house and kitchen cupboards.

Kim82 · 25/12/2023 17:47

Sitting with a glass of wine waiting for the roasties and parsnips to crisp up. I’m hopefully be serving dinner in around 15-20 minutes as I’m starving!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 25/12/2023 17:48

Watching the Christmas episode of Bottom.

Then probably watching Father Ted. It’s not Christmas unless Mrs Doyle says, “Maybe I like the misery..?”

Tilllly · 25/12/2023 17:49

Watching Agatha Raisin and glugging some water, whilst under new blanket with heatpack on tummy

FuchsAndMöhr · 25/12/2023 17:49

Having a poo 💩

Judgejudysno1fan · 25/12/2023 17:56

Making chicken wraps, potato wedges, coleslaw and salad for dinner and waiting for my husband to get home from work. He works on Xmas. Good money.
Lying on the sofa breastfeeding the baby whilst my 5 Yr old is being a sweetheart girl brushing my hair.
Don't celebrate Christmas (we are Muslim) so been a pretty chilled day.
The eldest of my children have been badgering me all day to watch a new movie, so might watch that whilst having dinner. Either that or my trusty Judge Judy!
