Don't have present for friend

I have a friend who wants to come round tomorrow. To exchange presents I have not bought her anything because I have had other stuff on my mind. I'm not going out Xmas eve. I have loads of stuff I need to do in the house as well. I really can't be bothered . But I know I'm being horrible.

I’m really confused by this thread! I think it’s time to unwatch otherwise I’ll keep on coming back adding pointless suggestions. Hope you work it out

What are you hoping for from this thread, OP? You seem to have shot down every suggestion so far.

All OP's threads are like this.

Digital vouchers are life savers! The likes of ASOS and virgin experience days do them.

Sorry that I have confused you. That was not my intention. I'm sure it will work out .

Sorry about that . Your right they often are . But that will be because I have been through hell for years. And I'm still Healing/fighting trying to keep on top of life and small things can tip me over .

£20 Amazon voucher? Is that affordable? Or a tenner even. How much can you afford in terms of a voucher as there are lots of last minute ones you can get.

No she does not know. I don't tell people in real life anything.

@Shithole101

Perhaps when you do next see your friend, whether it's tomorrow or a later date, you could try and be a bit more open with her ? You seem like you could do with someone in your corner.

Bake some shortbread biscuits.
Butter, sugar, flour.
Wrap em up in nice paper.

If you had cocoa powder and icing sugar google 'chocolate crinkle cookies'.
Very easy. Look and taste amazing.

No way. On very rear occasion I have shared something. She has not understood and talks over me. I put my barriers up don't say anything again .

I would just send her a message saying that you'd love to see her after Christmas, but tomorrow is just so hectic that you won't have time to chat.

KnowThyself · 23/12/2023 22:39

I love hosting but springing a visit on someone on Christmas Eve what kind of friend is that, I would say no and have no problem saying that as well. Stop feeling guilty.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 23/12/2023 22:43

She sounds more like a steamroller than a friend! There's no shame in saying it's just too much for you to manage right now.

Steam roller? I'm going to say no . I have no choice really

Just be honest, a true friend won't have an issue

Good idea, it's stressing you out too much. You can meet up for pressies at a later date.

@Shithole101

Sounds like seeing her won't make you feel good so probably best to cancel until after Christmas .
