Best Christmas present ever

What has been your favourite gift you've ever received for Christmas?

I still remember the joy of receiving a pair of fur lined boots at aged 8, and a Timex watch the following year.

Presents I remember being particularly thrilled about.

1978 ish. A Nookie bear with the string in the back that made his eyes cross. I adored him.

A crazy straw. Obviously easily pleased. Must have been around 1980.

Leg warmers like pp, probably around 1982. Mine were purple.
The same year - hair tongs so I could curl my fringe under.

1985 - a double tape player and a pack of blank tapes. I loved copying albums and carefully writing out the track list. I got blank tapes every Christmas after that - always a thrill. I think that was the year I also got Madonna's Like A Virgin album - on tape of course.

1986 - a swatch watch and a bottle of Anais Anais. I thought I was the height of sophistication. I still love Anais Anais.

What a lovely thread. I remember my nan had bought me a hair accessory each week when she went shopping and put it into a box for me. By the time I opened it at Christmas it was jam packed. She didn't have a lot of money and she had taken the time to build up the gift over a number of weeks. I was so excited when I opened the box.

That's is gorgeous. Such love.
