LTB (obviously)
A spa day
A bubble bath
A glass of fizz
Posh chocs

For children;
Hot chocolate

I can't think of any more but I am sure there are a few!

For families of kids who spend a lot of time on devices:
Get the board games out

Put your children to bed at 5.30 at the latest, after you've fed them a piece of fruit and a glass of milk - they had a hot lunch at nursery/school so don't need another meal.

If you're feeling low, alone and skint give yourself some self-pampering with a face mask made from porridge oats, and a scented bubble bath, that will cheer you up. Followed by a hot choccy.

Ooh no not fruit! Way too much sugar! removes tongue from cheek

Don't do any parenting if you're a step parent.

But at the same time subjugate your entire existence (and that of your own DC if you have any) to the stepkids, and possibly also to the whims of your partner's ex, and willingly accept your place as bottom of the heap. Because, after all, you knew he had kids when you married him.

Just message back and say, ‘this doesn’t work for me, sorry.’

To be fair, this is often a brilliant solution when people are struggling to say no

Struggling at Christmas? Just go on holiday somewhere sunny!! Like everyone can afford that.

Struggling with bills? Become a childminder, surely you just get some toys out oxfam and you're sorted?? No, childminding is an actual business now...

Messy house? Get a cleaner!! Obviously paying someone 15 quid an hour is peanuts to you...

Babysitting an issue? Dont you have a helpful granny/aunty/cousin just round the corner, i thought everyone had that?!?

Inheritance? Surely when everyone loses their parents they get an inheritance? What do you mean yours lived in a council house, you can't get nothing?? Dont be silly

Get a lodger in.

Always weirds me out that a solution to a hard home life is to introduce a stranger to it.

Crazy isn't it. I would rather have any manner of money worries than a stranger lodging in my home with young kids around !
