The news is full of miserable shit.

Instant communication has probably in some ways added to the misery.

Mince is overrated.

Many people are actually kind when it comes down to it.

Hats should make a full-on 1920s comeback.

Rainbows and stars will never not be cool.

Tinned soup is far superior to the flavourless fresh soups in the chiller cabinet.

Tinned soup is awful and smells like very salty cat food. Fresh soups aren't flavourless unless you are used to very salty catfood! Homemade soup is the best.

Granny Smith apples are the only apples. Especially M&S ones. Sheer happiness in a crunch.

I absolutely love blue Christmas lights but I have purple this year.

Yellow car is when you compete with your family to say 'yellow car, no returns', when you spot one. This game works because there are not do many yellow cars for it to be too easy and boring but enough to make it worth the effort.

Do you not give the other person a playful thump when you see a yellow car or is that just my family...?

Rules are:

  • the game is always active and there is no opting out
  • if you see a yellow car you say "yellow car punch buggy" and then give a person of your choosing a little thump, you then say "no returns"
  • only the first person to spot the car gets to thump

We don't play that game with yellow cars, it's minis around here.

You see a mini then run up to whoever is closest, thump them, and say "mini punch, mini shield" so they can't punch you back.

Unfortunately there are about 5 on the way to the school so I get it daily 🤣

@Iam4eels we don't do the punch - probably just as well because I lose a lot!

@OrderOfTheKookaburra thankfully Wales has fewer yellow cars - I'd probably never have told the dc about this game if I lived in New York, for my own sanity!
