It’s M&S cinnamon buns right?

My favourite savoury option is the Lidl vegetable pizza.

What’s your nomination?

Sainsbury's Danish Pastry Whirls (iced). Delicious, they are always the first to sell out and it's like a win when they are available.

Almond croissants from Waitrose for sweet and their cheese straws for savory.
But it seems there are a lot of other nice things I haven’t tried yet. I’m putting mental shopping list of bakery goodies from various places at the moment and can’t go to sleep. This thread will be the death of me.

Sainsburys salted caramel choux bun and a Lidl goats cheese and pesto bread

Tesco vanilla cream crown or the same crown thing with a berry compote inside 🤤
They come in a mini pack of danish pastries

Waitrose Heyford wholemeal bread.

It's the closest to decent bread I can find in a supermarket.

Savoury - M&S cheese twist. Sweet - M&S almond croissant.

supercatlady · 17/12/2023 02:49

Aldi London Cheesecake
savoury - Lidl cheese twist

Superduper02 · 17/12/2023 04:35

Coop - jalapeño and cheddar sourdough and cheese twist.
Sainsburys- almond croissant.
M&S - Challah bread and Victoria muffin.
Waitrose- Salted caramel chocolate chunk muffin, olive rolls, almost any bread.

Salt and pepper tiger bread small french stick with cheese.... wasn't a for purchase item but I worked in the bakery of Asda for years and I would mix the salt and pepper paste with the tiger bread paste then make the above to take home.... used to take the paste home in sandwich bags 😂

The Lidl cheese twist for daaaaays. Why did they take them away?!

NoItsStillNighttimeDarling · 17/12/2023 07:24

I'm so glad I didn't see this last night, I would've been in a mood all night with jealousy 😅

Coolstorysis · 17/12/2023 08:02

You are all killing me, literally.

havent tried 80% of the above as I'm diabetic, but might have to choose one to try as a special treat.

but which one???? Arghhhhh

I feel the same! (Not diabetic but obviously do not want to become diabetic!)
What to try first - feel need to face plant into Lidl's bakery lol

I notice no one has nominated an Aldi item

their bakery is VERY disappointing which is a shame because they are only round the corner from me

in particular, their sourdough crumpets are awful

why is it all so bad when other supermarkets have nice stuff???

I agree. Yet to find any baked item in Aldi that I like & that includes all the bread. I shop every week at Aldi but buy bread elsewhere.

grass67 · 17/12/2023 11:44

@Darklane Aldi sub rolls are nice., but the rest is a bit pants.

I love Aldi bread, I specifically go to get bread and think it’s much better than Hovis.
