Unfortunately I was absent for the thrilling climax to the game yesterday, and offer belated congratulations to LlynTegid. It's not often you see that move deployed with such laser-like accuracy.
A last hurrah before we all disperse for our traditional mid-winter break? (I'm for the Canaries this year with the curate and his new-ish special friend, a dear young man).
I'll start us off with a good invigorating Hudson's Cast: Goodge Street.

Chigwell. Another move out of Greater London.

MarkWithaC · 16/09/2024 09:18

Not a million miles away, and allowable I believe using Schapflinger's Exception: Elm Park.

Some tasty moves there! As we are skirting around the metropolis I think a visit to Grange Hill is appropriate.

Seaside1234 · 16/09/2024 21:59

Avoiding the obvious move from there, with a forward pass I end up at Oxford Circus

LlynTegid · 18/09/2024 13:54

Time for the Bakerloo line to Kilburn Park.

MarkWithaC · 18/09/2024 16:48

EDITED to correct a mangling of Seaside's name

Seaside, is the 'obvious' move what I think it is – the play the old Marchioness used to bring out if it was time for the under-gardener to turn up in her room cocoa in bed?

Any road up, Neasden, half-cocked.

OP posts:
HazelBite · 18/09/2024 20:00

I think the only way forward is Dollis Hill

DuckonaBike · 18/09/2024 21:13

Forward indeed, Hazel. I’m going to take a more circuitous route with a splice to West Hampstead Thameslink

LlynTegid · 19/09/2024 08:16

Given the circuitous route and use of the Thameslink rule to get there, I use the walking interchange rule to get to West Hampstead London Overground station.

MarkWithaC · 19/09/2024 13:17

I have to risk Upsiding myself here, but I can't see another way...
Brixton <<fingers crossed>

OP posts:
Seaside1234 · 21/09/2024 08:32

Close, @MarkWithaC , but just about ok.

Plaistow.

Seaside1234 · 21/09/2024 08:35

Also, the story about the Marchioness is exactly why I avoided that move earlier, kind of tainted it for me. Did you ever see the under-gardener?

DuckonaBike · 21/09/2024 10:12

Actually, Seaside, I saw quite a lot of him myself. I leave it to you how literally you interpret that.

Sideswipe to Shoreditch High Street

Seaside1234 · 21/09/2024 23:31

Ooft.

Turnham Green

MarkWithaC · 23/09/2024 09:09

Crashing on...

Cricklewood via an Eftling's Shunt.

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 23/09/2024 15:34

The proposed lines rule seems to be my only way out and gets me to Gunnersbury.

Seaside1234 · 23/09/2024 22:14

Round the houses - Holloway Road

MarkWithaC · 24/09/2024 12:07

Well done, Llyn! Very skilful.

Stamford Brook is my best option as far as I can tell. Off-offside, obviously.

Dear me. I spend a few weeks on a round the world cruise with the Colonel, the bishop and the deputy under-secretary and this is what I find on my return. I am shocked to my very core. Pennington's Tangent to

Pimlico

HazelBite · 24/09/2024 15:17

Oh dear using Pennington's Tangent at this juncture, so difficult to follow on, so after much thought I'm going for Great Portland Street

DuckonaBike · 24/09/2024 19:37

Maud, I trust you had an enjoyable holiday. If rumour is to be believed then you apparently did. But don’t worry, I don’t believe everything I hear, and I’m sure the stories about the cocktail waiter are pure fabrication.

Wise move, Hazel. I’m keeping it cautious with a back step to Warwick Avenue

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 24/09/2024 19:49

Oh, Duck. Surely someone of your great good sense wouldn't believe the spiteful rumours being spread by the purser? All I can add is that my behaviour on the cruise was impeccable (which, incidentally, is more than I can say about the bishop, but everyone deserves a holiday).

Tufnell Park

LlynTegid · 25/09/2024 07:03

Someone nearer to water you can swim in but not suitable for even a model cruise is Highgate where I move to.

MarkWithaC · 25/09/2024 18:04

Oh, well played, Hazel. I didn't think that was possible, but I've had a flick through Lister's Almanack and see that it's permissible when the DLR is wild (which I hadn't observed, so, again, excellent play).

And welcome back, Maud! I have to say I think there are some crossed wires about the cruise; the version the florist's delivery lady told me involves the deputy under-secretary and that cocktail waiter, and I shall leave it there except to say I may not be able to order a White Russian ever again without thinking about it

Redbridge, keeping it on the straight and narrow.

OP posts:
Seaside1234 · 26/09/2024 11:13

Sounds like you might be the only one keeping it on the straight and narrow.

Limehouse, which should put the DLR back into regular play.
