And where will you be?
We’re hosting and there’ll be 6 of us this year.
10/12 on Boxing Day though.

megletthesecond · 10/12/2023 10:49

Just me and two teens. Who I will barely see all day. I used it as a chance to tidy up.

any Flowers I imagine any day is hard for inmates and staff but Xmas probably even a bit tougher.

medianewbie · 10/12/2023 10:56

Just me & my 2 teens with Autism.

They still feel Christmas = big pile under the tree & if not they're sad.

They're not remotely materialistic.
They do want surprises but they need to be 'right' surprises (ASD on steroids)

Only they STILL 'don't know what they want for Christmas'. If I guess I'll get it wrong & they'll be stressed. Only option is to be Mystic Meg (& I'm not sadly)

I dread Christmas.

This year we're having a 3 day budget trip in-between Xmas & NYear as last year we saw no one & that was long.

Tarkan · 10/12/2023 10:56

My parents are hosting but I'm cooking.

Should be nine of us. Me, DH, two DC, my parents, brother and SIL and one of my cousins.

6 I think. Mom and dad (it's at theirs), me and my husband and daughter, and my brother. Brother's partner will be travelling I think. We were going to have mom's best friend at one point but I believe she has reconciled with her family now. Also my husband's best friend will be on his own so I am conscious of that and we will extend an invitation but he is highly unlikely to accept, as it would be a long way to travel.

Thinks that's everyone! Things can change last minute tho.

Ilovelurchers · 10/12/2023 10:58

Thank you to all those of you who are working and keeping vital services running for our country/looking after those in prison, hospital etc. You are all heroes! X

Shithole101 · 10/12/2023 11:04

Will be 9 0f us . Myself 6 kids/adult kids 2 gs

bunniesandguineapigs · 10/12/2023 11:08

Me, DH, Ddog, at home, as usual. We do both have parents and siblings but neither of our families are particularly close (both in the emotional and geographical sense), and everyone just does their own thing.

linelgreen · 10/12/2023 11:40

The latest number for us is 10 but subject to change before my imposed deadline of 20th Dec for numbers and any special dietary requests- myself, DH, the three adult children and two of their partners, a recently divorced friend of mine and two of DH's team of junior doctors that can't get back home for Xmas. Fairly small for us as have had up to 18 in past years but the number will probably increase as DH and kids will invite more hence the deadline. I learnt my lesson the year I had everything planned for 11 and between kids and DH adding on and only telling me on Xmas Eve morning I ended up with 16 and having to revisit Tesco and butchers not ideal I can always cope with another 1 or 2 last minute additions but I never admit to that.

AllTheOtherCats · 10/12/2023 08:51

None. Just me. And my beautiful cats. And I'll be perfectly happy. I do get invites (probably because people feel a bit sorry for me!) but, like the previous poster, I can't be doing with all the noise and being part of someone else's idea of Christmas 🎄

Same here. My friend invited me but then discovered that her sister in law is insisting on hosting. She was very apologetic but I was quite relieved! I'm going to her on Christmas eve ( with 2 other friends) and Boxing day (just us) anyway.

I'm going to be quite OK on the day and I've booked a meal out so I don't have to think about what to cook.

TheCatfordCat · 10/12/2023 11:56
  1. First one as a separated couple. Last year we went to my FiL's house and there were five of us. But FiL died in March & his wife moved away. So this year it's the ex me and DD. (Ex and I are on civil terms)
Madameprof · 10/12/2023 11:59

There'll be nine of us at my parents'. I've never hosted except 2020 when it was just the five of us who live in our house.

SallyWD · 10/12/2023 12:00

We're hosting and there will be 7 of us (our family of four and three in-laws).

BG2015 · 10/12/2023 12:21

Spending it with my DP in Tenerife, round a pool!

Never done it before so I might hate it! But....it will certainly be different.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 10/12/2023 14:05

Me and my 3 adult sons Can't wait to have them all here at the same time
It's rare these days

Deathraystare · 10/12/2023 15:24

I will ɓè working the afternoon so will see staff patients and families of patients. Normally quiet apart from regular food deliveries.

Polis · 10/12/2023 15:28

Lots. We are staying with my husband’s family.

Darklane · 10/12/2023 15:34

Me, DH & the dogs, perfect.

Vettrianofan · 10/12/2023 15:34

At home with DH and four DC ages 16, 13, 8 and 6.

WhatACluster · 10/12/2023 16:07

Just me, dh and 2 x dc

Perfect for us, we will pop off and see other people, but the majority of it will be spent on our own.

BebbanburgIsMine · 10/12/2023 17:34

Just me and DD

And our beloved cat (he's our world)

irregularegular · 10/12/2023 17:39

We will be 12. From Xmas day morning through to morning of the 27th.

GMsAWinner · 10/12/2023 18:18

There's four of us at home, us and my DM. DD's friend occasionally comes last minute.

All the family speak to us but not eachother, so that's our excuse for not having a house full.

MuddledMadge · 10/12/2023 20:57

There will be 3 of us on Christmas day. Smile

xogossipgirlxo · 10/12/2023 21:04

with my husband and our son + 2 cats🤭
My family is abroad (or rather we are, they stayed where they were), my FIL visited us this weekend as he’s going away for Christmas. It’ll be good, our son is a baby, so he can nap on boob as much as he wants during Christmas😂

treeinthedistance · 10/12/2023 21:06

There will be 4 of us, and the cat! 😊
