And where will you be?
We’re hosting and there’ll be 6 of us this year.
10/12 on Boxing Day though.

@FiveShelties .. to be fair it's sometimes quite a nice day

Regime is more relaxed , it can go either way with healthcare needs
I've worked Xmas before when it was just one self harm after another , I've worked another where everyone seemed in good spirits that might have just been the hooch

I'd rather work and let the nurses with young families be off

Rocknrollstar · 10/12/2023 08:27

Oh bliss! We have rented an apartment at the coast and there will be me, DH and adult DD. A walk on the beach, a light lunch. Token gifts.

flapjackfairy · 10/12/2023 08:27

10 this year and I am hosting as usual. I love Christmas!

About 9. We are going abroad to visit relatives and there will be 2/3 guests as well. Usually it's just me and my two kids.

Roselilly36 · 10/12/2023 08:29

Just us four, my most favourite people in the whole world, so looking forward to a relaxed day & good food cooked by DH.

Chelsea26 · 10/12/2023 08:30

Just the 6 of us in the morning for breakfast/presents. Me and DP and our four kids.
20 of us for Christmas dinner at mum and dad’s house, which is them, us, my siblings and their partners and kids and my DP’s mum. I can’t wait!

Doggymummar · 10/12/2023 08:30

We shall be hibernating from this Friday till 8th Jan. And seeing noone. It's bliss

Ragwort · 10/12/2023 08:33

Two guests for afternoon/evening - elderly DM & DB. Will miss our DS who is working overseas but apart from that I like a quiet time !

dudsville · 10/12/2023 08:33

Just us 3. Had big Christmases years ago , maybe i enjoyed it? i don't know, but i really like our quiet little Christmases nowadays.

SusanSHelit · 10/12/2023 08:33

I'm working nights over Christmas but I'm hosting just my mum and dad and my ds. It's going to be a lovely calm, peaceful and I think genuinely lovely day.

No drama, no schlepping from pillar to post, no food we don't like or being cordial to rude relatives. Just the three people I love most in the world, some thoughtful gifts and hopefully a nice meal if my cooking pulls through!

Then ds is off to his dad's at 5pm so I can get ready for work at 7pm.

No plans for boxing day other than sleep as back in boxing night and night of the 27th.

For the first time in years I'm actually, very tentatively, looking forward to it

SkyFullofStars1975 · 10/12/2023 08:33

15 of us - DH and I, 3 DC and their DPs, 5 grandchildren, my mum and stepdad, And 3 dogs.

ohtowinthelottery · 10/12/2023 08:33

3 - me, DH and adult DS (who lives here). Same on Boxing Day. We do travel to DHs family between Christmas and New Year though, where there'll be a family dinner for 8 of us.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 10/12/2023 08:35

We're hosting. There will be 10 (us four, plus 6 guests). All will be up here for 3 nights, though only 4 will be sleeping at our house.

BMWM340 · 10/12/2023 08:36

We have 12

user14699084785 · 10/12/2023 08:38

4, just our normal household!
I’m an only child of two only children so i have no extended family and DH’s crowd all doing other things - Bliss!

ErinAoife · 10/12/2023 08:39

I am hosting 10 of us for Christmas. 5 for boxing day and certainly on my own for New Year

TeddyBeans · 10/12/2023 08:40

We're hosting Christmas eve this year, my parents, my brother and his GF, my partner's parents, my partner's brother and his GF have all been invited. So with our children that makes 12 people potentially (including me and DP). It'll essentially be our Christmas day.

We'll be with my MIL and FIL on the actual Christmas day this year - me, DP and DD. DS is with his dad for Christmas day but we'll get him back on boxing day when we'll go to my parents'. Busy busy!

flannelonthesink · 10/12/2023 08:41

Christmas Eve and Christmas morning DH, DS (7 months) and the dog will be at my in laws. Christmas afternoon we're back at ours hosting my parents, sister and her boyfriend for dinner Xmas Smile

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 10/12/2023 08:41

3 as usual

helpfulperson · 10/12/2023 08:42

Personally I'll be on my own although there will be other people in the hotel

ThereSnowLimit · 10/12/2023 08:44

We’re having a traditional Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve this year - just me, DH and our two teens.

Then on Christmas Day the four of us are meeting my best friend (who is a single parent) and her child for dinner in a restaurant.

Boxing Day is the family madness day. My mum is hosting. 16 of us for a sit-down roast beef.

cfmtb · 10/12/2023 08:44

12 + 2 kids....8 and a baby all staying together for a week around Christmas and the other 5 coming over for the day!

tokesqueen · 10/12/2023 08:44

Ten. Five adults, three teenage boys and two frail elderly PIL, one of which is very likely to be his last Xmas. We're at a difficult stage now with family gatherings, needs and wants.
Will likely spend Christmas abroad as a couple every year in a few short years.
