And where will you be?
We’re hosting and there’ll be 6 of us this year.
10/12 on Boxing Day though.

There will only DS5, me and DH.

Popetthetreehugger · 10/12/2023 08:49

16 , but I’m only responsible for sides and pudding… and all extras … and drink 🍹

CissOff · 10/12/2023 08:49

Me plus 13 others and this is a smaller Christmas than normal - it would have been 18 usually.

We are staying in for Christmas dinner but it’s a house we have rented for the week.

We also have 3(!) birthdays the same week, so it’s going to be very hectic but we wouldn’t have it any other way ❤️

None. Just me. And my beautiful cats. And I'll be perfectly happy. I do get invites (probably because people feel a bit sorry for me!) but, like the previous poster, I can't be doing with all the noise and being part of someone else's idea of Christmas 🎄

Sceptre86 · 10/12/2023 08:51

We are having mil, bil and sil plus their two kids, dh's aunt, uncle, his cousin and her 2 kids. So 10 people plus the 5 of us.

ApolloandDaphne · 10/12/2023 08:52

I am hosting and there will be 8 of us for lunch. 6 are staying and two are just day guests. I will get lots of help from my DD's and DH though.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 10/12/2023 08:52

Hosting both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Christmas Day: Me, DH, DD and MIL. Boxing Day: All of the above plus my parents. That's about as many people as I can cope with and as about as many people that can fit into our small house. We normally just have Christmas just the three of us which I do prefer, but I'm still looking forward to this Christmas!

Beezknees · 10/12/2023 08:53

Just me and DS. That's the way I like it. Sometimes we spend it with my mum too but she's with my grandad this year.

CrushingOnRubies · 10/12/2023 08:53

Popping in to swap presents and maybe have a drink in the morning with in laws so possibly 8 people there. And then I've to my parents for actual Christmas dinner and there will be 4 of us there

SoRainbowRhythms · 10/12/2023 08:53

Just me and DH and I CAN'T WAIT. I hosted everyone last year and had a shit time.

FiveShelties · 10/12/2023 08:55

anybloodyname · 10/12/2023 08:27

@FiveShelties .. to be fair it's sometimes quite a nice day

Regime is more relaxed , it can go either way with healthcare needs
I've worked Xmas before when it was just one self harm after another , I've worked another where everyone seemed in good spirits that might have just been the hooch

I'd rather work and let the nurses with young families be off

I bet it is, I can imagine it being much more relaxed. I hope you have a very calm and peaceful day.

SuspiciousSue · 10/12/2023 09:23

Just me and DH, absolute bliss. Our daughter is having Christmas with her partner for the first time in their new flat. Our son, the youngest, is working during the day but will be home after 6. DH and I are having lunch out and then will get tiddly in the afternoon. I’ll have some nice food in for DS and we’ll do ‘Santa’ (joke) presents then. DH and I are doing our stocking presents in the morning when it’s just us.

InfamousPartyAnimal · 10/12/2023 09:30

Four adults and four teenagers. I am hosting and have done for years. I am looking forward to more peaceful Christmas days in the dim and distant future!

gotomomo · 10/12/2023 09:31

12, and all staying 3 days, good old mum!

Sweetladyjane · 10/12/2023 09:33

Just me for the majority of the day. DC are with their dad. I’m volunteering at the homeless shelter in the evening.

Chasingsquirrels · 10/12/2023 09:35

2 or 4, haven't decided yet.
Boxing Day the kids are with me and my parents are coming over, so 6 or 7 depending on whether dc1's gf is here.

KingscoteStaff · 10/12/2023 09:40

17 in rented house in countryside. 2 80+, 9 50+, 6 17+.

In a few years we’ll have lost the ageds and the youngsters will start peeling off with partners, so we are making the most of it!

IfColoursHatedMe · 10/12/2023 09:46

Same as usual, just me, dh and ds for the morning then dinner with my mum and dad at their house. My in-laws are all overseas and my brother and sister usually do their own thing so it's usually just the five of us.

Parker231 · 10/12/2023 09:47

We’re hosting - 17 - both sides of our families. They are all staying for a week. No big Christmas dinner (no one really likes it) so big cold buffet which everyone helps to set up and clear away.
We’ve plenty of snow so other than taking the dog out, we’ll hibernate for the day in our pj’s.

GalileoHumpkins · 10/12/2023 09:49

Just one and a cat, perfect.

familyissues12345 · 10/12/2023 09:51

Christmas Day - there will be 8 of us - us 4 (DH, me, DS's), my mum, Dad, Aunt, Uncle

Boxing Day - 11 of us - us 4 again, BIL, SIL, 2 Nieces, 1 nephew, DH's SM and his SS.

Should be nice, we're hosting on Christmas Day and BIL is hosting on Boxing Day

Wishihadanalgorithm · 10/12/2023 09:52

Just the 3 of us this year. It’s the first time in 4 years and we are looking forward to it.

Christmas Eve we are hosting another 5 and then Boxing Day we are guests and there will be 13.

Then We have guests at New year- just an added 3- who are staying for a few days.

Much quieter than last year.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 10/12/2023 09:54

Me, DH, DDs, my parents, DSis, family friends and their youngest. 10 of us on Christmas Day. Friends’ middle child will be joining with his gf from Boxing Day.

This will all be at my parents’ house.

Londonnight · 10/12/2023 09:55

I'm working so it will depend on how many staff and patients are on the ward on that day.

Justfinking · 10/12/2023 09:55
