Interested to know about everything be it luxury or mundane
I was late to the game but now use my air fryer daily. I also love my earbuds.

I am also sporting nail wraps for Christmas!!

Mine are looking good 8 days on and I’ve now put some on my 82 year old mum too; you’re never too old to try something new 😁 🌲 Merry Xmas 🌲

VanGoghsDog · 25/12/2023 23:05

I've just put my nail wraps in. One is a bit wonky/too narrow so a sliver of nail is showing at the side, and I've not got any clear nail varnish to put over the top, but they look OK.

chimichangaz · 25/12/2023 23:21

@Sandunesandseashells that's amazing, 8 days?! Mine are looking a little worn on the nail edges (applied them yesterday) but they weren't very expensive. I'm going to try the Lily and Fox ones next that have been so highly recommended.

And go your mum!! I bet she looks amazing 😊 Merry Christmas 🎄 🥂

chimichangaz · 25/12/2023 23:22

@VanGoghsDog mine don't look perfect (some don't quite fit) but I did have some base and top coat handy so I used that. I think we'll get better with practice 😉

lurchermummy · 26/12/2023 12:06

I'm also a nail wrap convert, I just got some random ones off Amazon but now I want to try some more exciting ones. I never have long nails but the wraps seem to add a layer of protection so mine have grown. I'm constantly admiring my own hands now!

LadyEloise1 · 26/12/2023 12:33

Not quite "a never want to live without" item but I really liked the Aldi dupe of the L'occitane Almond body lotion. I will repurchase if when it hits the shop again.
I wasn't keen on the shower gel as the consistency was off.

Ladybird69 · 26/12/2023 14:12

@OLDERME thanks I’ll give this a try. It’s so strange how it just started!

Ditto, why have I never discovered these sticky little bad boys before .. they're flipping ace

Icantthinkof12024 · 26/12/2023 17:09

With the nail wraps are they removed with nail varnish remover?

Snozzlemaid · 26/12/2023 17:11

I just go around the edges with an orange stick and can then peel them off.
It's like some weird magic stuff that stays on so well but then comes off easily.

Just wanted to say what a great thread this is, and to thank @NannyGythaOgg for the mention of vinyl nail wraps.

Two weeks ago I didn't even know they existed - I am now sporting some beautiful winter-themed wraps, I didn't think they would be here in time for Christmas (ordered from Lily and Fox) but they arrived yesterday.

I'm still considering some of the other things talked about on here, but for £1.99 these are probably one of my best buys this year!

Hope it’s ok to ask, but every time I look at buying lily and fox nail wraps, the webpage defaults to the Australian one, but with UK prices. Do you know if they’re coming from Oz or the UK? Free postage, apparently! TIA.

MerelyPlaying · 26/12/2023 22:19

I thought they'd be coming from Australia, and was resigned to them not arriving till January. In fact, mine were dispatched from Hamburg in Germany and only took just over a week to arrive.

MeinKraft · 27/12/2023 11:49

Just been on Lily and fox and ordered 5 pairs! Are they always £1.99?

estd1869 · 28/12/2023 21:17

beetr00 · 10/12/2023 10:35

@MeinKraft is it this mop? 🙂

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0CNM68VN7/

I do hope so as I've just purchased 😂

Edited

@beetr00 what’s your thoughts? recommend?

I’m in Australia and use them. Standard price here is $2.99 a set so I guess 1.99 would be your standard price. Great quality wraps and lovely range of designs.

A paraffin wax bath for my aching hands.

wellineverdidz · 30/12/2023 14:35

@beetr00 thanks for that link to the half wet bucket/half dry bucket mop on Amazon. I really like the look of it but it does have the look of something that could be used once or twice but is an annoying gimmick that gets stuff in the cupboard for years and then thrown away.

Anyone else got one? how long have you had it and are you still using it?

I’ve been looking at that too. I haven’t decided either, although I did see either Lidl or Aldi have one on their upcoming deals. I think it is around £15.

I bought one recently From Amazon and I think it is much better than the spray wipe mop head that I previously used. You are washing the mop each time you dip it in the water section as opposed to using a dirty mop. The water comes out quite dirty, well mine does because I have dogs so I was obviously not getting the floor clean before.

Have to add - Knoops hot chocolate flakes. I’ve had a hotel chocolat velvetiser for three years now but found their own flakes too bitter, even their “milky” one. The velvetiser then only saw use when I could be bothered to cut up different chocolate to use myself, which is fun to experiment with, but sometimes you just want a bloody hot chocolate and the powder stuff is always sad to me!

Decided to order Knoops 43% before Xmas, it arrived just after and I tried it a few days ago - omg. It’s gorgeous. Not overly sweet but also not at all bitter. Just a properly rounded out, slightly nutty flavour. I’m on my second of the day today after I took one to the beach earlier 😅 I don’t really drink alcohol so this is my expensive beverage of choice instead. I love it.

I went out and brought muji pump bottles (they come in different sizes and colours) for hand soap and washing up liquid - I can’t get on with press down bottles . Either option looks much better sink side and fits more neatly for me . https://www.muji.eu/uk/product/pet-pump-bottle-600ml-6952.muji
