Interested to know about everything be it luxury or mundane
I was late to the game but now use my air fryer daily. I also love my earbuds.

3d interior design program! interior-design3d.com/ if you need it, it's really good and it helped a lot with our house renovations. You can add your plan and the model builds from there, which is very convenient. We still have a lot to do, so I definitely will be using it for a while.

Chocolatepeanutbuttercupsandicecream · 14/12/2023 11:45

Ooh.. can I add another one? I ordered a dishwasher on Black Friday and I’m already feeling like it could be one of my best buys! I have so much less time now that me and ds are both full time students outside the home, if this gains me back 30 minutes per day, 7 days per week, that’s 3.5 hours each week or 175 hours a year, so over a week of my life!

Triptastico · 14/12/2023 20:41

@TheDarkSideOfTheMoon our family of 5 use this:

Ninja Dual Zone it has a digital thermometer so can do steaks to your liking.

We also have

Ninja Foodii* for making meals. I couldn't be without the 2 and use them both almost daily. My hob and oven are almost obsolete.

I get recipes for the dual from Instagram and for the Foodi from:

Instant Pot Recipes

Whilst it's a bit of a heavy layout having both. I'm so glad I have them. I had the Foodi for a year before realising I needed the dual air fryer as well.

You really won't regret it.

It's really warm here now, and yesterday morning I filled it with ice and cold water. Drank the water, ice was still ice, refilled it a few times and then brought it to bed last night. This morning it's still ice cold.

I have been looking at that pink one as I have the mug the same colour. But then I keep saying... Do I need another bottle 😂. I think I do.

@christmaspaws thank you so much for the Bored of Lunch tip - I'm loving all of the recipes and have literally written a whole meal plan for the rest of this month based on it!!!!

Would you mind to quote this thread again please. I looked through the posts again and can't seem to find it.

@orangeflutterby what dies the LED mask actually do? I’ve booked to have filler for the first time for what I call puppy’s bum hole lines round my lips but I’m told it’s painful so if there’s a chance the mask would iron me out I’ll invest in that instead. I do need quite a bit of ironing mind you….

For those with spots, flaky skin etc. on their scalp, my nurse told me that it was a dermatitis. She gave me DiproSalic solution. It worked very well. I also had it on areas on my eyebrows. N.B. You must be very careful using it around the eyes.

newtoallthisshizzle · 16/12/2023 23:02

Thank you to whoever said they brought a proper sellotape dispenser! I got myself one yesterday and have wrapped up every single present without stress this afternoon. It’s the best thing ever!! Thank you!

Another who has an airfryer and not using it...........so far only for wedges, goujons etc but would love to use it more for "proper" food! Ninja dual people - tell me your secrest!!!!

You just cook anything in there. Salmon is one that comes out super nice!! Salmon in tin foil parcel with some lemon and bits and bobs like seasoning etc. Do some asparagus parcels wrapped in bacon etc.

The key is to go super low with the temp. If you have bake setting use that. If it’s 180 use 160 for a similar time. All though I always go a few minutes less and check. So 12 mins for salmon as opposed 15.

Chicken kievs, pies, you name it really. I even do lasagne although have to be careful on the size of the tray.

Also do fajita in there. Just open and stir more regularly.

I haven’t used an oven in 2 years.

Laura1978 · 17/12/2023 07:56

I brought the 4.5 togg one as I’m always so hot in bed and LOVE it. I brought their pillows too. My best buys this year!

Seborrhoeic dermatitis, also occurs around those nose and elsewhere, like the ears, where there are oily producing follicles

I have cooked a turkey crown in mine this lunch time, it was only a kg but it cooked beautifully. Like you I havn't had my oven on for years, we had our first fryer when Actifry brought them out and was mainly chips and wedges but now everything goes in there, even put the toaster in the cupboard as I never used it. Got a whole salmon in the freezer ready for the week-end which I know from past experience will be good.
A book I can recommend is Slimming Eats in the Airfryer by Siobhan Wightman although has Slimming in the title there are some great recipes in there.

Ninja Blender (Foodi Blender 2-in-1)

It’s fantastic! Never had a blender as powerful & quick before. My old one kept getting stuck and I’d have to keep stopping and starting, this ninja one just blitzes everything in seconds!

Costco Air fryer £50 does the same as the ninja it replaced.

dupe Stanley cup £11 eBay - coffee stays hot for hours

aldi skin care dupes £3-8.50 it means getting up early when they arrive in store but amazing stuff!!

Counter clicker when grocery shopping £1 one click, It’s made me really think about what I’m buying as them number click up!

pink stuff miracle spray for dirt and grime
elbow grease yellow spray for grease
Both work wonders!!!

LED light mask £50 10 mins 4-5 times a week on red light therapy means Botox is only needed 1 time a year. I’ve had comments since using it ‘your looking so well’ ‘your skin looks so fresh’

Matrix hair protector £10 quick spray after washing and blow dry is so much smoother plus hair condition has improved dramatically!

budget planner £3 I make a conscious effort to update it every 2 weeks so I know what is being spent and where.

@Kate0902900908 can you link to the mask you have? Thanks

Erm, they are unnecessary gadgets to waste money on. You can make soup and rice in a pan as it’s been done for hundreds of years and the robot hoover thing was £400!!! 😳 It’s peak Mumsnet.

When I was travelling around Asia pretty much every household I saw had a rice cooker, even quite poor ones. It’s like saying a kettle is an unnecessary gadget and you could just boil water in a pan. Of course you could but it’s better and more convenient to use the item designed for the job, particularly when you’re using it multiple times a day. Likewise if you make a lot of soup or need to hoover a lot!

My contribution is an Oxo good grips Y peeler. It’s so sturdy and comfy/easy to use. No one should suffer a rubbish peeler! I’ve bought loads of them for presents for people now because I love it so much 😂

fishCellar · 10/12/2023 13:39

Just curious what model you have? TIA

@fishCellar I have a Juicy and it's the love of my life!

Offwiththecircus · 18/12/2023 22:14

Sorry. Can't quote relevant posts on dodgy phone. Re the rice cooker, what exactly is the advantage? As per person above I just put double amount of water to rice in a very simple pan and boil gently. Works perfectly with brown rice. Slight issue with sticking with white rice. Does a rice cooker stop sticking/simplify cleaning? i use gas by the way, rice cookers electric so pricier to run I assume?

ArsenicInTheAppleTart · 18/12/2023 22:29

rice cookers cook the rice perfectly and keep the rice warm for hours at a time. I'd imagine that's why they're so popular across East Asia. People coming and going in a household can have rice at any time of the day. If rice is a staple part of your daily diet I can see why they become indispensable.

Offwiththecircus · 18/12/2023 22:36

Mm, ta for reply. But i cook and eat. No ambitions to feed multitudes.

IClaudine · 19/12/2023 08:27

I love my rice cooker. Switch it on and leave it to do its thing. Come back when you need to serve up the rice. Perfect fluffy rice every time with no messing about checking on it every few minutes.
