He wants to be...

An adult.

Honestly, he's an inspiration. I aspire to have big dreams like his one day!

🤣

Tell him not to bother, it's so overrated.

theduchessofspork · 09/12/2023 17:45

I wouldn’t mind going back to 5 - would he be up for a swap? I have a relatively small mortgage and a nice car 😁

Twoshoesnewshoes · 09/12/2023 17:46

Yep definitely tell him to read the job description carefully before committing

Like a lot of jobs he needs to be careful what he wishes for, lol

AdoraBell · 09/12/2023 17:58

That’s brilliant, hope he enjoys achieving it 😁

Santaiswashinghissleigh · 09/12/2023 17:59

At 5 my dd was distraught as she didn't want to be a human being when she was big...

Springcleaninginsummer · 09/12/2023 18:02

Yup, I knew a kid that wanted to be a horse. Hope he wasn't too disappointed by puberty.

NC2315 · 09/12/2023 18:03

My dd said she wanted to be a duck when she was a toddler 🤣

Mummymummy89 · 09/12/2023 18:06

My 3yo wants to be a science teacher "like mummy". Why? "So I can sit next to you all day and cuddle you and stroke you"

I told her there's such a thing as team-teaching, we could do that! Probably not cuddling and stroking though at least not all day.

This!!!

Tell him women will kiss the ground he stands on! They're rare birds.

One of mine wanted to be a lollipop lady.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 09/12/2023 18:17

Does he know that it is an unpaid position?

RunSlowTalkFast · 09/12/2023 18:24

I also aspire to this. I'm nearly 40 so hoping it's imminent!

REP22 · 09/12/2023 18:32

Hehe, smart lad. My nephew, aged 4, announced that as an adult he would be driving a Range Rover "with a Nissan Micra for my wife to drive".

Esgaroth · 09/12/2023 18:37

My son (6) is going to be a 'work man', but a rock star on the weekends. I think he realises that being a full-time rock star is not likely.

Isthisexpected · 09/12/2023 18:40

I wish it was custom to teach children they can "be" multiple selves when they grow up. This idea of just being an adult/duck/teacher their whole life outdated now!

SpaceJamtart · 09/12/2023 18:40

When my daughter was 3 she told me that she wanted to grow up to be a daddy.
I asked why a daddy? It was because Daddys get to wear big coats and big shoes and have lots and lots of keys and they get to keep all of them in their big trousers.

TorroFerney · 09/12/2023 19:40

My daughter wanted to be a bear hairdresser when she was very little. Quite niche.

gotomomo · 09/12/2023 19:53

One of my DD's wanted to be a chef, the the other a conductor, neither are doing that though one is very successful in a very different career

JuneWind · 09/12/2023 20:00

My DD (4) told me she wanted to be a mummy when she grows up ‘so that she can have boobs’. I was breastfeeding DS quite a lot at the time!

CaptainCallisto · 09/12/2023 20:01

DS1 wanted to be a flamingo farmer at that age. He's now 12 and is aiming for the far less exciting (but probably better paid) field of civil engineering...

UsingChangeofName · 09/12/2023 20:03

Mine wanted to be an ice cream van driver, and an archaeologist. Felt comfortable she could handle two jobs at once.

I don't think she had the foggiest what an archaeologist did, just rather liked the sound of the word.

Santaiswashinghissleigh · 09/12/2023 20:06

Another dd about 6 or 7 said she wanted to work for the council as they were always at our local baker's shop!

MuchTooTired · 09/12/2023 20:10

DD aged 5 wants to be a granny teacher and a hairdresser. DS aged 5 wants to be a YouTube star. Both seem to want a ridiculous number of children which given they also don’t want to move out of my house is going to be extremely cosy here!

That is exactly what I wanted to be throughout my childhood! It's not a bad ambition, I think I have almost made it and your son will too.
