He wants to be...

An adult.

Honestly, he's an inspiration. I aspire to have big dreams like his one day!

Ds1 wanted to be a babysitter, ds2 wanted to be a pony 😁

porridgeisbae · 09/12/2023 20:41

That's great. Apparently a family friend's son used to say 'I wish I was a toddler again' at that age. 😁

SpringingJoy · 09/12/2023 20:49

Ds3 (6) wants to be a 'bike trainer'...ie someone who teaches people how to ride a bike.

He loves his bike and has known how to ride one for a couple of years. He recently discovered a number of his friends can't yet ride without stabilisers and now it's his life's mission to teach everyone to ride a bike.

Apparently I once said I wanted to be retired when I grew up.

My 3yo wants to be a science teacher "like mummy". Why? "So I can sit next to you all day and cuddle you and stroke you"

I told her there's such a thing as team-teaching, we could do that! Probably not cuddling and stroking though at least not all day.

DD says she’s going to come and work with my at my office and sit at my desk “so you don’t get lonely”. She also told me she’s going to have a purple car but that I have to drive us there because she doesn’t know the way.

sounds sensible, work, being a 'grown up' all sucks, we were deceived as kids..

DS aged 4.5 wants to be Santa when he grows up so he can ride around, stopping off to eat mince pies & carrots as Rudolph can’t manage them all. He’s been saying this since July.

My 5YO wants to be a scientist and a train driver. I am onboard with her plan!

Wavingnotdowning · 09/12/2023 22:02

When my son was 3 he wanted to be a police dog 😂

Storynanny1 · 09/12/2023 22:08

One little boy I taught wanted be a stick when he grew up!

My son (6) is going to be a 'work man', but a rock star on the weekends. I think he realises that being a full-time rock star is not likely.

Haha! When my son was 5 he wanted to be a rock star but also a postman so he thought he could probably be a ‘rockstar postman’.

SingingSands · 09/12/2023 22:52

You've just given me a flashback to DD watching a farming program at that age and proclaiming that's what she wanted to be.

Me: "You want to be a farmer?"
DD: "Nooo silly! A cow!"

Ok 😄

Hahaha yes! Dd also said we would drive to work together "and then when I know the way, I can drive so you can take a break on your phone" - dh was quite jealous at the deal I'll be getting

Seriously though, teaching does tend to run in families so this is an achievable goal for my dd lol

GammonAndEggs · 09/12/2023 23:14

DD (6) wanted to be a mum, a teacher in the day, a policewoman in the evenings and a doctor on the weekend, with an occasional shift at McDonalds.
I asked when she’d see her children. She dismissively waved me away saying, ‘oh I’ll have a husband for that!’

Newuser75 · 09/12/2023 23:15

Mine wants to be a power ranger🙈.

Tilllly · 09/12/2023 23:20

Oh love him!!

My eldest wanted to be a child when he grew up
My youngest wanted to drive a train but not early in the morning

fluffycloud · 17/12/2023 08:08

When my eldest was 4 and I had stopped at traffic lights, I heard squeals of delight from him in the back seat. I asked why this was. He said “Look at that man! He has the best job in the whole world and I want to do that when I grow up!!”. He was pointing at a chap wearing a sandwich board advertising a new local pizza place. I asked why he wanted this job when he grew up. He said “It’s because you get to see cars all day really close up!”.
My little boy has grown up and had interviews for Oxford Uni recently but with unemployment in certain sectors of real concern, his wish may still come true!😳

distinctpossibility · 17/12/2023 08:20

My 4 year old is definitely 100% going to be a ninja. But if that doesn't work out he'll be "just normal, like you." Cheers mate.

Seemslikethat · 17/12/2023 08:37

My DD wanted to be a teacher during the week and a hairdresser on a weekend. Twenty years later, she’s achieved the first job and I’m still waiting for her to get her act together to train for the second one.

autienotnaughty · 17/12/2023 08:51

My dd doesn't want to be an adult she's 21 unfortunately 😂

M5ybelle · 17/12/2023 10:52

Great ambition for one so young he has already got the long term plan. Now needs to work on how to enjoy the journey!
My 5 year old IS a hairdresser already - because she has put pretty clips in her hair.

Constantsarechanging · 17/12/2023 10:58

When asked what they want to be when they grow up, three year old said 'happy' 🥺
My work here is done.

Woahtherehoney · 17/12/2023 11:04

My DSS who’s 5 wants to be a policeman Monday to Friday and an ice cream man at the weekends. He also said he wouldn’t mind being a dustman.

All actually quite achievable goals and I love them 🤣
