Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just brewing my first cuppa, in my tea pot. I haven't used it in ages so thought I'd treat myself. The girls are still asleep so it's nice and quiet down here, for now.

I've got the washer going already for uniform & I'll hang that before I head into town. I'm hoping to finish my Christmas shopping for the girls today, and buy most of the things I want for dd2's birthday on 28th December. I could do with finding something for my dad too. That'll just leave me a small list of things to order online & I'll send those to my friend's address where there's always someone in.

The girls aren't coming this time. Dd1's offered to go to Lidl to top up fruit, salad and bread. She's going to have a wander down the seasonal treats aisle too 😋 . She might change her mind though when she sees the weather 🌧

Dd2's plans, when I asked last night, were lots of sleep, write the few Christmas cards she wants to give school friends, and her homework. She'll probably have either her weekly call with her friend in the Netherlands, or the one who moved schools too.

I'm likely to eat out again, so tea for the girls will probably be a takeaway pizza of some sort.

A bit of crafting for me tonight - making bead tassels for my Midnights Eras tour jacket & then a fairly early night (it's always an early night!).

We're all (me, DH & DC 9 & 5) off to see Santa today with some friends. This is probably the last time for DD (9) as she announced yesterday she finds them a bit tacky but she still believes atm.
Also got to fit some Christmas shopping in too.

Weve had a builder/plumber here all week and he finished yesterday so today I’m going to tidying up - it’s crazy how one room being re-done (bathroom) has an effect on all the other rooms! I’m also going to be taking a shower in my new shower and can’t wait ☺️
Then later we are going to see some Christmas lights and having dinner out.

Good morning. I was up just before 7am this morning and have so far put the washer on, mopped the living room and the hall and had two cups of tea (I’m about to go and make another).

Dh is at work, the two older girls are asleep and I’ve heard dd9 and her friend who stayed over last night moving around upstairs but they haven’t come down yet.

I’m waiting for my Tesco delivery and need to finish cleaning the house. Dd19 is at work at 12 and I have a waxing appointment at 1pm. Dd16 has a friend coming round this afternoon too.

Pizza for tea because we’re all in and out at different times. Tonight dh has his work Christmas drinks and I’m not sure what I’m doing. I may go to my sisters for a bit with the girls but equally I might just sit around in my pjs eating snacks and drinking wine before bed, it depends on my mood later.

The weather is horrendous here this morning, but I need to pop into town to pick up a couple of things. Chores this morning and then running the teens around to their various clubs. I have a Christmas wreath to make which has been sitting in the box for a week so I need to get on with it really.
DH will be back from his work Christmas party later - he says he’s not hungover but we’ll see.

Been up half an hour. Need to make a 2nd coffee lol My mum was meant to be popping over but both ds1 and ds2 are not very well. So will see her next week. I need to iron my new curtains and put them up, clean bedrooms and get washing done. This afternoon I must get started on my assignment 🤦‍♀️ Then tonight will be movie night 🙂 Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning. I’m cooking off some sausages for everyone’s breakfast. DCat is cuddled up on me just now.

DH in bed with a hangover after Christmas works night out. Me and the kids are going in town to a Christmas market after breakfast.

No big plans for tonight. Working a long shift tomorrow so I should get the uniforms ready.

Also will read my Christmas book. I pick one every December to read. Must be finished by Christmas Eve.

Good morning, we’re heading home after a week in Wales.
So far I have stripped the bed, packed my suitcase, packed up the kitchen, cleaned and tidied around while DH has done sweet fa, as usual. Am quietly seething….. He can take the dog out for a walk in the pouring rain before we leave.
Not a good start to the day 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m just out of bed after lying awake for an hour hoping to fall back to sleep but alas, no Saturday lie in for me. Just about to make a coffee, I have to collect my shopping and then myself and DH are going to go for brunch and a mooch about the shops but the weather really doesn’t look too appealing.

I had planned meatballs and pasta for dinner but I could also be inclined to get a takeaway, we’ll see where the evening takes us!!

I’m on a train, heading for York. Spending the weekend with a friend and her family who’ve just moved into a lovely new house which I need to inspect 😃.
Not sure what the plan is, other than supper at what looks like a lovely restaurant. At the moment I’m just enjoying the bliss of being on a train on my own with coffee and a book.

It’s 5pm here …

Slept in until 8:30am, DH brought me a cup of tea to bed. Got up and mowed the lawn while DH emptied the spa pool. After a shower, did an online grocery order, reset the whole house ( advantage of small house and minimalist) went to the pool shop, wrapped a couple of gifts, walked the dog, had a nap.
Now DH brother is here, they are sitting out the back chatting, one DC is at the beach, the other shopping with her Mentor. A relaxing evening I hope!

Oh I do that. Always get a Xmas book at start of December and it must be read by Xmas eve, then I go back to 'normal' books lol 😆

Got up, fed the feral and barn cats. 11 of them this morning. What a hoot that is.

It was a nice day here in France yesterday, quite warm so we did a bit in the garden and now I'm in pain. I've really got to book a drs appt next week.

I've made scrambled egg on toast for breakfast and will now clear out and relight the woodburner for the day.

We'll go for a walk round the very wet garden as it is raining again, and hunker down afterwards, OH is on a football watching day downstairs in the downstairs lounge and I'll be up here in front of the woodburner sorting out seeds for giveaways next year. I've got to seperate tomato seeds into 'to grow' and 'to donate to a seed library' and 'to donate to locals'. And to separate all my other seeds into 'to grow', 'to donate to locals' and 'to put into my big jar for scattering into spare spaces' when I have them.

Morning everyone, we’re going to buy a christmas tree today, so my husband will be trying his best later to hide his inner monster when the kids do an awful job of decorating it.

We’ve got visitors later, my mum is flying over and staying until the new year, the smalls uncle is also joining us for a few days, the kids haven’t seen him since August so they’re really looking forward to seeing him. We’re all going out for tea tonight, I’m not sure where to choose yet though.

Morning all! It’s miserable outside, raining constantly and wind is supposed to be really strong this evening.

Ive had my breakfast and got a coffee. Dd2 is laid on my bed playing with a toy set of keys. She’s had a bit of breakfast so far but didn’t want more. Dd1 in her room on her iPad having breakfast.

We have a Santa visit this evening followed by dinner at PILS. I have a lot of tidying to do this morning and washing. I’ll get the school uniforms washed and all the towels today.

Dd2 not too well, she’s got a bad cough and cold. Going to keep an eye on her.

I got to sleep in a bit until 8.30 and so grateful as I have been up early all week. Dh is working with his dad today and he’ll be back for Santa visit.

Was all set for Parkrun until I saw the weather and turned my alarm off! Will run in a shower but not a downpour.

Very rainy and windy here today! I'm just having a second cup of tea cosy on the couch!

We are off to the in-laws for lunch today. Then on the way home we are getting a Christmas tree so all very excited! 🎄

Already got one uniform wash on, need to do another before we go so it can dry during the day.

We are having sausage/bacon/egg butties for dinner as having a buffet at MILs so don't need anything massive for tea!

I'm a bit jealous of the Santa visits. Mine are too old now but each goes along with the magic "for the other" as they've never said they don't believe, even though they know it's me.

I need to find a random surprise each for them while I'm in town as they've picked most of what they have this year & everything (except pj's and fluffy socks) seems very square in shape.

Morning :) whole family is in various stages of a horrible cold- DD (5) who brought the blasted thing home from school is totally recovered and full of beans, DH on the mend, and the baby and I are still very much in the thick of it. Have hardly slept as one of us was always coughing!!

I’ve dropped DD off at performing arts and just arrived at my mums to look after her cat while she’s off on holiday again (definitely not jealous 😉). Then I’ll take DD to the library and head home for soup for lunch.

DH working this afternoon so am home alone with the kids, no energy to go anywhere and don’t really want to inflict our germs on anyone. So will do some crafts and probably let DD have a lot of screen time. Chicken and chips for tea and early night for everyone

We're all full of cold. I went to a Christmas party last night but didn't drink and am feeling very happy and smug about it this morning. I managed a lovely long sleep and a lie in as dh got up with the baby. Dh colouring/gaming for now.

It's throwing it down with rain currently but after lunch we are going to a Christmas market followed by a farm park as a little festive treat. I hope the weather picks up.

Once we're home it'll be bed for the little one and a takeaway and strictly for us and the big one.

Morning everyone. Currently stood in queue in Gregg's for bacon sarnies and re-evaluating my life choices.
DD had meltdown about going to school after being in a concert and not getting home until 10am.
I've then spent 2 hours in mud + wet doing the horse.
On way home for coffee, get out of soaking clothes and scrub the mud out of fingernails before finally decorating the tree. Poor thing has been stood naked in front room for a week.

Ds is colouring/gaming not dh 😂😂😂

Taking DS to his swimming lesson this morning then after lunch I am going to buy a Christmas tree. DS and I will decorated it whilst DH takes MIL to the footie.

DS has started watching Dr Who and loves it so we will be watching that later followed by Strictly. No ides what we are having for dinner.

DC1 has a test at one of his chosen secondary schools so I've been trudging about in the rain since 8.30am.

Managed to find a cafe, so have had a hot chocolate and done some "last bits" Xmas shopping. Kids are all done now at least!

Meant to get our tree today but it's just so wet (it means wet tree carried through the whole house) so debating to see if tomorrow is better weather.... I want my tree now though 😩

DC2 is still recovering from a horrible cough which had her sent A&E a few days ago so we've scaled back this weekends plans. It was just going to be tree decorating / card making / festive baking today.
