Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just brewing my first cuppa, in my tea pot. I haven't used it in ages so thought I'd treat myself. The girls are still asleep so it's nice and quiet down here, for now.

I've got the washer going already for uniform & I'll hang that before I head into town. I'm hoping to finish my Christmas shopping for the girls today, and buy most of the things I want for dd2's birthday on 28th December. I could do with finding something for my dad too. That'll just leave me a small list of things to order online & I'll send those to my friend's address where there's always someone in.

The girls aren't coming this time. Dd1's offered to go to Lidl to top up fruit, salad and bread. She's going to have a wander down the seasonal treats aisle too 😋 . She might change her mind though when she sees the weather 🌧

Dd2's plans, when I asked last night, were lots of sleep, write the few Christmas cards she wants to give school friends, and her homework. She'll probably have either her weekly call with her friend in the Netherlands, or the one who moved schools too.

I'm likely to eat out again, so tea for the girls will probably be a takeaway pizza of some sort.

A bit of crafting for me tonight - making bead tassels for my Midnights Eras tour jacket & then a fairly early night (it's always an early night!).

I'm going out for a late lunch in the city and first Christmas exchange of the season. I'm feeling a bit anxious as baby DS is the clingiest toddler on the planet which I make worse by usually taking him with me but he's staying with DH today. Hoping for some wine this evening!

Husband is on holiday with some mates so just me in the house for this week (no kids). I've been to the gym, watched some tv and done some crying (feeling quite depressed for various reasons). Taking my nephews to see a pantomime this afternoon so going to try and pull myself together, then over to my parents for dinner.

DD woke us up at 5, fell back to sleep but ended up over sleeping, had an argument with my partner, walked the dog, took DD to messy play and just put her down for a nap. House needs tidying/cleaning, washing needs hanging out, putting away etc dog needs walking again and some family are coming round this afternoon. It's pouring with rain not looking forward to going back out in it with DD. Partner is working.

I feel quite anxious today but can't put my finger on why, trying to shake it off.

Morning everyone!

Slept in until 9:45 😯 which is unheard of but it's been a week of stress, tears and illness so I'm feeling all the better for it.
I've walked the dog and now I'm drinking Christmas tea by the twinkly tree.

DD is doing homework and DS is still asleep (just how?!?!). Will pop a Christmas film on in the background in a bit, while we wait for the next Dr Who regeneration!
Can't decide on whether to pop out for supermarket pizza or to get a chippy tea.

I'm also very excited that before bed, I'll be presenting them with new Christmas pjs and tickets for the Polar Express tomorrow. They've constantly begged me for years, but I told them they were too old so I absolutely cannot wait.

Also I love these threads. My Facebook is full of people jamming their day with expensive middle class plans. You make me feel normal for wanting to chill in my own home with a brew.

I woke up full of cold, so am in bed feeling very sorry for myself. This means that my husband and kids are probably still in their PJs playing Fortnite without me to boss them around motivate them.

I do plan on dragging myself out of bed later to make them 'Mummy pizza' for dinner though, as I've been promising them it all week.

Good afternoon!
Got my covid and flu vaccinations today. I'm type 1 diabetic and flying abroad soon so though should get it done!
Then took daughter out for hot chocolate and pastry as a treat. Nice chat about university applications and how her interviews went. Now need to write a couple last minute Christmas cards (thought I'd sent them all then got one from someone I haven't seen in over ten years so had culled them - oops)! Then a bit of housework and chill!

I've been unwell this week.. Coughing non stop.. Was off work for three days..
Currently watching ITV Racing.. I have an online account and have £1 bets. Just won £24!!

Good afternoon @lucysmam and mumsnet!
I had a busy morning - early haircut then straight over to a friend's for coffee - so I've only just sat down. Dh and the dcs have gone to watch the rugby so I'm settled on the sofa with a cheesy Christmas film and my laptop to catch up on some work, then I plan to do a bit of cleaning and maybe do a few Christmas bits. I have a load of stuff online in baskets which I need to definitely decide on and order.
An early night tonight I think - it was my work party last night so feeling a touch jaded.

Afternoon all. Love these threads .

I woke up at the crack of dawn to see DH & teens off to a football match. Had tea in bed, then went back to sleep for a couple of hours.

Did some Christmas shopping (think I’m finished now other than wrapping paper!) and met my Mum for coffee.

I was going to do housework this afternoon but have sacked it off to eat pizza and watch Christmas films. I’ll be productive tomorrow.

Going to have a bath and early night later.
